We cannot live without love, forgiveness, freedom. I look at the world and I feel sometimes deep sadness. This sadness goes very deep into our shared humanity, into unimaginable suffering. And it going on right now, human being hurting each other with cruelty and disregard.. all over this world. I realize more and more that what is needed is love, not the righting of wrongs. Wrongs are endlessly variously perceived and in the war of those perceptions there is no resolution. We need to find love and let forgiveness flow from that higher consciousness as it naturally does. Between angry people no one wins the argument. Someone gets hurt and claims victory but no one has really won. The only true resolution comes from forgiveness, and forgiveness comes from love, and love means first and foremost "FREEDOM".
Arthur Schopenhauer believed that human life, at best, was often an infliction and a torture, but Friedrich Nietzsche, whom Schopenhauer was his mentor, diverged from this conclusion by showing in his first book "The Birth of Tragedy" (1872) that he admired, not the ascetic, who tried to escape from the wear and tear of life altogether, but the proud, stiff-necked man who held his balance in the face of both seductive pleasure and staggering pain; who cultivated within himself a sublime indifference, so that happiness and misery, to him, became mere words, and no catastrophe, human or superhuman, could affright or daunt him [the fact is that few thinkers in the history of mankind, have fought more heroically against illness and agony--as Nietzsche did-- seeking to derive insight from their suffering, utilizing their talent and endurance to the last and making their misery a stepping stone toward new and bolder visions. Such was the nobility, courage, vision, and above all will to power who developed a powerful stimulant to overcomehis sickness, though for a reprieve, yet he still exalted this one only life and man despite his continuous physical torments, nearly 300 days a year]. Back to Schopenhauer, he pointed out that this will to exist, this instinct to preserve and protect life, this old Adam, was to blame for the unpleasant things of life as well as for the good things--that it produced avarice, hatred and murder, (as you have, Miss Camelia, described in your above post), just as well as industry, resourcefulness and courage--that it led men to seek means of killing one another as well as means of tilling the earth and procuring food and raiment. He showed, yet further, that its good effects were a great deal more numerous than its good effects and so accounted for the fact--which many men before him had observed--that life, at best, held more of sorrow than of joy [Schopenhauer puts the argument thus: "Pleasure is never as pleasant as we expect it to be and pain is always more painful. The pain in the world always outweighs the pleasure. If you don;t believe it, compare the respective feelings of two animals, one of which is eating the other."]. Thank you for your passionate thoughts regarding our humanity.
Cette alchimie entre la musique et les image concoure vraiment à donner cette impression de liberté. Ca y est, enfin la porte est ouverte - ou presque- comme dans l'une des images de la fin !
