Great question! Keeper positions are very competitive (who wouldn't want to work with animals?) and many move across the country for their job. In addition to a degree in animal-related fields like biology, zoology, ecology, conservation science, or animal behavior, keepers are often required to have intern experience. Once a keeper is hired, they will learn how to best work with their animals' individual personalities and needs.
