You are right on the money with the Goodfellas scene. After the Lufthansa heist Jimmy Burke went on a murder rampage killing everyone that worked the job. He had Paul Vario's blessing because this meant that there was less of a chance anyone would talk to the feds, and more importantly it meant they had to give out less shares, more money for them. Once Henry Hill got picked up on the drug charges they felt he was a threat because even though he did not take part in the airline heist he put all the players in touch with each other, and knew the details. Not only he was under threat of being clipped because of the drug bust, but they knew he could write his own ticket with the feds if he gave them the details of that heist so they had decided he and his wife had to go. That scene was not a planned ambush for Karen though. She had called Jimmy Burke wanting to talk to him to talk about Henry right away. Jimmy figured this was a good opportunity. Grab Karen, and have Henry come to her then they would them together to take out of the scene. Thankfully Karen was smart enough not to get trapped.
It was most definitely a set up. I think Scorsese set it up to have a little bit of ambiguity so you really feel the Paranoia and impending downfall/hopelessness Henry Hill was experiencing at the time. I don’t know, I’m not the guy. But, it works tho.

Jimmy Burke tried grabbing Karen with the hopes of luring Henry to a trap where they both would have been killed. Even before the drug bust Paul Vario and Jimmy Burke had discussed killing Henry. Burke worried Henry might ask for a bigger cut of the Lufthansa heist since all the other players were dead, and they both worried about Henry going to the feds. The last time Henry had been in prison Paul Vario raped Karen, and they also were concerned because Henry was becoming unstable due to his drug abuse.

It's disturbing how nonchalantly she started to resort to the false accusation route as soon as she felt pressed. She is exactly the type of woman who would be content to destroy a man's life with an accusation and not lose a second of sleep over it.
Yup. It ruins lives one way or another. It happened to my family member, obviously he won the case she was a psychopath. But despite being an innocent man he has lived within the confines of his bedroom ever since. He has extreme PTSD and will literally never be the same. He said wherever he goes he feels like people are thinking "you fuckin pervert", even though he was Innocent, it still always crept into his mind. So eventually he stopped leaving the house all together. It ruins lives, one way or another.
Bad people can't speak truth. They can't even be in the same room with it. It makes them angry and they get exposed and embarrassed by it every day. That must be a difficult life. This is why I don’t UBER anymore. A few years back before every Uber had cameras in them I had a group of young ladies I picked up. Being drunk they began acting very inappropriate, touching me as I was driving, hitting my arms, etc. All of that was nothing until one of the girls piped up and said “what keeps girls from saying you didn’t assault them.. LOL. Like what if I told them you touched my breasts, they’d probably fire you right..?” I sat there for a second and told them “Well that wouldn’t go very well seeing as I have two cameras(one right behind her fat ass head and one under my mirror)..” She said she was joking blah blah blah but that moment right there is where I said yeah I’m not doing this anymore because all it would take is one false accusation and you’re done. Life ruined. Over maybe a $5 tip…
People should try get a dash cam even if your not an Uber, these days it’s so easy for claimers and liars to get away with stuff. Having a Dash cam protects you and others.
Exactly! Thank you. On three separate occasions -- three separate cars -- I was sitting at a stop light, stopped for awhile actually, when I was Smashed! Rear Ended by the fools who were looking at their phones. There wasn't even attempts to break on their part = 3 totalled cars. The hits hurled me through the intersection and on one case, into the back of the car in front of me (that was also stopped at the same light). Every single driver that rear-ended me tried to tell the police that I slammed my breaks, trying to cause the accident to get the insurance, and one told the police I put my car in reverse and slammed into them!! Idiots!!

So Uber is just STEALING the “convenience “ fee from the customer and you. Interesting how easily they take it from the customer, make you jump through hoops to get it, then deny it to you, and pocket the extra money. And somehow you’re the bad guy trying to get one over on them

I'll tell you this, I have driven Uber and Lyft for hundreds of thousands of miles. One thing I have learned about dealing with people while they are intoxicated; Never argue with someone while they are intoxicated. Only have confrontation if it is a safety issue where you need to. If you ever have to confront someone, make sure the camera is on them and you have footage. You say nothing otherwise and document, document document. Oh yeah, always have a dash cam rolling .
All Uber drivers need the following: 1. Lots of cameras, inside and outside. 2. A thick glass bulletproof partition. 3. Automatic doors, push button open & closing also prevents slamming. 4. A mace canister in back with remote driver control. Fills the cabin in seconds. 5. An dash panic button that contacts 911 with your location. 6. A kill ignition device if driver gets more than 25 ft away from vehicle, carjack protection.

The scariest Uber ride I’ve done is picking up 3 dudes in a terrible area, in a sketchy alley in Minneapolis. After that they were pretty threatening through the ride in a passive aggressive way and when I got them to the destination they kept urging me to come with them, wanted to “show me something really cool” got the absolute worst vibes the entire time, when they got out they slammed my doors so hard one of the windows cracked and as they walked away I heard one of them say “he’s lucky”, he said something else after but I couldn’t understand what it was. Needless to say that was the last night I drove for Uber or Lyft.

THIS. Even if they ask for help or look like they are in distress. A drunk woman can be your DEMISE so quickly your whole life could do a 180º because of any type of involvement. I wouldnt even confront her about anything if I was the guy in the video, just take the scratch since it's not worth it to pursue action against someone that could potentially ruin your life AND character with a simple lie. What if this guy's dashcam for some reason wasnt recording and she decided to escalate this with a lie? He would've been FUCKED.
@@GridnetGaming lyft takes precautions for safety of the driver and passenger and In case of an emergency you can request adt or just plainly emergency services silently by someone else doing it for you or at least that’s what I think from the app of the rider and for drivers I know it’s not a lot but even then tell me does Uber have any of these no they don’t it’s just a hit or miss for the drivers and riders .

Investing in a dashcam is one of the best things you can do in general. Shit happens and without video evidence backing you up, you could be the one in trouble instead.
I never watch these kind of videos but I happened across one of yours and now I'm hooked. I wanted to tell you I admire your attitude. I would have dragged about 95 percent of these people out of my car and sent them on their way with a boot. Jesus. "I'm sorry, I scratched your car. I apologise. Do you want me to help with the damages?" That's what a responsible adult does. Then he would have said that it's not that bad and Uber will help with the costs. It's all about the principle here.
I definitely agree with this, I had a hand made axe that the handle got jacked up by a dude missing too much and as I was away from camp when it happened they didnt wanna tell me until the morning, they didnt offer to pay for the handle either, keep in mind this isnt a expensive handle like 40$, problem was its a foreign made product so I have to wait until the part gets handmade and THEN wait till it gets to a importer close enough to ship to America, it legit took almost a year for me to be able to get a new handle, and I wouldnt have let the dude pay for it, Im not worried about 40$ personally if its a one time screw up, but offer at least, if it was me that broke it and it was someone elses as soon as I can imma talk to them and offer to fix it (I have done this many times), but trying to hide it and not offering to fix it makes it very hard to show any trust in that person
I know what a joke it can easily be repaired or taken care of without all this drama lol plus there's risks when you pick up drunks so don't get all offended when they accidently scratch or puke in your car.

I used to drive them before Uber existed and it looks like an easy scratch to fix. I drove for Uber when they hadn't figured the extra distance to jobs over rivers etc

wear and tear is when you say open a fridge door 30,000 times and then the magnetic strip pulls away from the fridge or the magnet loses its holding power. Wear and tear is not someone falling on your car and scratching it up. I'd pursue this further.

Uber basically says “that’s what you expect when you sign up with Uber” Uber doesn’t want to be liable for anything a passenger does to you or your car. They just want the profit you make from it
@john jacob I detail and I have never seen a $30 polisher. I do own a $400 rupes if that is what you are referring to. My is a d.a. That means dual action. Also I use wool cutting pads. I like the cutting compounds made by meguiars. Unfortunately I cannot buy just "a drop" as you say. Instead I buy a $23 bottle. Freezing the screen and looking at the scratch it appears to me she is past the clear coat in spots so best case is the scratch could be lightened.
Honestly. That's why they have insurance requirements. The person was outside the car at that point. Just like anyone walking by or a rock off the road hitting the car or anything else. Its also a buffable scratch.

Immediate denial pisses me off. I was at a drive in with my girlfriend and a guy pulled up uncomfortably close to my driver’s side and parked. I should have moved…. Anyway, he gets out and comes around to my side and opens the door for his little boy. Now, I hear and feel the door hit my car, but it was light, so I let it slide. But 15 minutes later, when they come back with popcorn and drinks, the kid opens the door himself and WHAM! So I get out and the dad immediately asks what the problem is. I point out the chipped paint where the door got my car, and his immediate response was “that wasn’t us.” So I told him to open the door and see if it lines up. He does and it syncs like a glove. He didn’t even apologize. I asked him to please be more careful, but if I wasn’t with my girlfriend, and he wasn’t with his kid, I would’ve laced into him big time. That kind of immediate denial of responsibility is pathetic in an adult.
years ago i had a brand new maxima…driving in a parking lot i see a little boy with a woman, as i drive by he throws a rock at my car, she watched him do it yet still denied and all she kept saying is hes a good boy…good thing i had my friend in the car so when i called the cops they wrote is up as such so her insurance paid for the damage…i have zero faith in humanity sadly
dude, this has been my experience with almost every person who has been at fault for getting into an accident with me. They always deny and deflect. 10 years ago, a man who was clearly high or drunk hit my car on a narrow street. I saw him coming before the accident, pulled over to my side more and slowed down to almost a stop. He hit my car, got out and immediately says "You came around that corner so fast", denying all fault. I didn't report him because I was a pizza delivery driver with an order in my car, but you bet now I would have turned his intoxicated ass in. Who knows, maybe he's killed someone driving drunk since then!
The problem ultimately is a two-way-street. If you admit to it, there's a whole host of problems. You can't just pay for the damages, it has to go through insurance, which increases your premium, etc. And they never pick a cheap option either. It's always thesuper sparkly 100x normal price paint they'd use for a 'repair' like that, while it could fairly easily be buffed out.
Well Uber's Guidelines do state that if a rider damages your car, they are responsible for the damages and necessary repairs. The Inconvenience Fee can be helpful, but is not guaranteed, and you must provide Uber with a receipt for the damages within 5 days of contacting support and within 8 days of the incident (I can't tell based on the video so I'm not making any assumptions on whether you did this or not). It makes sense that the passenger should be responsible for the damages since she caused them, but it does suck that Uber didn't grant you the fee. Also, I don't work for Uber at all, I just know this because I looked up their community guidelines after watching this video lol
@@sportsentertainmentco9877 I was expecting a serious scratch but I agree with you. It looks relatively minor to me and is probably why Uber declined to cover it. Compound and buffing - would be inconvenient - but would reduce this a lot. The more important thing is that the drunk girl hit the car with her keys - that we heard - and definitely could have been the cause of the damage. Without direct evidence and with any or either party willing to lie about things you just can't resolve matters.
Tbh that scratch will not come off by buffing. Going to have to blend the paint to fully cover it up. It’s up to the driver whether the repair is worth the money or if it’s better off just let your car have a bit of character :)

Unfortunately these ride share companies aren't going to be a big help when it comes to damage to your car. It's usually capped at a predetermined amount and may not cover the costs. In your case, those scratches don't look deep and should come out with a scratch remover costing around $10. It's the risk you take when driving for these companies that only care about profits and not their drivers.
Your big mistake was in thinking that Uber gives a flying intercourse about guys like you. In the brave new world of the "gig economy," they know there are probably 100 or so guys they could replace you with after they deactivate you. You are an interchangeable part to them.

I remember once renting a lambo to do some canyon driving around vegas...and while in the city, google sent me through some unlit side street as a shortcut I guess. Well suddenly the road dipped and the front bumper smacked hard. I pull over and see that the lower fog light area has a large chunk missing. I'm like "Fuu-"...but then I remembered that I took a video when picking it up. I watch it again, zoom in, and there is the missing chunk! Phew lol
The only way that falls under W&T is Uber expects you to expect that because you are going to be driving drunk people, that they will be falling all over you car and so you assumed the risk. Literally that's their position.
The amount of people saying "oh it's a small scratch either way" or "that was unnecessary of him" is frightening. No matter how big or small the damage is, that is his car and it got damaged. It is up to court to decide the actual amount of damage. By the law, she damaged what belongs to him, and he has every right to act how he did. I don't know the details of laws in USA, but here in EU: even if someone tries to damage your car or property, that person can face big charges. Of course, accidents do happen, but never try to escalate an accident to something much more worse.

@Fredomane If he was to sell his car, that's thousands of dollars of value lost due to the scratches. It may not be much at the time, but its still something he owns and maybe times are tough for him. Gas is insane atm so maybe he doesn't want to spend $20 on something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
My experience with Lyft when a passenger's guest literally kicked a dent in my side panel was that the maximum they can be charged is $250 even though the repairs to the dent were $450. My other experience with Lyft is reporting a customer for making a mess in my car by spilling a blue slushie on my 4-day-old steam cleaned carpet, and the next morning waking up to a dirty car complaint with a threat of deactivation. I got someone to pull 90% of the dent but it still doesn't look exactly right
PSA: Don't do lyft or uber. You're going to put a whole bunch of city miles on your car (very bad for long-term health of your car), and the companies treat their workers like garbage.

Reminds me of when my dad called in an uber driver after it started storming pouring rain down in the Universal water park. We went to go into the car (which of course we were wet but had towels wrapped around our bottoms to prevent the seat from getting soaked) and my dad asked if it was ok for us to sit with us being wet and the driver said sure. The driver takes my family and I back to the hotel and the driver charged us an $80 cleaning fee for doing “extensive damage” to his car when one of the seats were wet from being sit on. My dad tried arguing with Uber but was unable to get a refund so a $9 ride turned into an $89 ride. Never ridden in an Uber since. Edit: Uber is a shitty company that treats drivers and customers like shit to get more money Edit 2: We were going to tip him $16 and give him a good review before he charged us $80 😑

We got out of the car and said a quick thank you because of the rain pouring down and went inside to our hotel room. He charged us $80 dollars before my dad could even sit down and give him a review and tip.
I stopped doing Lyft years ago because of shady folks being in my car. I worked in Portland OR so you never knew what you were gonna get. Most people were normal and chill but sometimes I'd get druggies or very drunk people and I've had a couple of situations near the end of that totally tripped me out and made me never want to do it again. Now I only deliver food or groceries because food and groceries never complain. ANYTHING can happen when you have someone else in your car you've never met. It's much safer to drive things around than people. This guy having a dash cam (which I ALWAYS have) saved his ass. There were a few instances where my dashcam saved my ass too where people have ran into my car while I was not moving and without that video I probably would've been fucked because insurance companies always try to make it 50% your fault and 50% theirs so they don't have to pay as much but video doesn't lie and if you're not at fault having that thing will pay itself off a hundred times over. Make the investment. GET A DASHCAM!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!1! Also I've caught a couple of accidents on it where I pulled over and the person that caused the accident tried to say it was the other person's fault. But I sent it to the insurance companies of both people and they were able to make it right with the footage rather than one person's word against the other's. Dashcams keep everybody safe. If there's someone you really care about get them a dash cam for their birthday or something.
So, just saying, as an autobody mechanic, insurance adjuster say and do anything to inflate their bottom line when In fact they don't have the mechanical experience to make the call to begin with. It's amazing what pencil pushers try to dictate to actual mechanics.
This is why I do NOT pick up drunk women. Ever. I've had so many issues with them, beyond what you can imagine. I live in a very big city and there's plenty more customers. I'd rather pick up a couple of drunk dudes who will chat shit and cause no issues than drunk women who do all sorts of weird shit and try to get away with it by lying.
As a girl who's seen lying bitches that weren't drunk yeah just don't because they can lie about not scratching your car to sexual assault, at least having a dashcam definitely helps but it sucks how much some will lie for no reason.

there is one deep gouge that clearly goes through several layers even if it doesn't cut all the way to the primer. I wouldn't care, myself... but if someone would be upset on principle then I can understand why. nobody likes being lied to, except for fools and cultists.
On one hand, she should be accountable for what she's done, that's obvious. On the other hand, that is the most tiny and inconsequential scratch that only a real narcissistic piece of shit would make a fuss about it. Then to try to discuss serious matters with someone too drunk to stand up straight is either idiocy or douche-baggery on the drivers behalf. I don't care what the girl said here, the driver can go F himself. If you don't want small scratches and other wear and tear on your car, then don't use it as an Uber.

(Granted that car is now totaled but whatever, unrelated car wreck) good on you for how you handled that situation, sucks Uber didn’t have your back!
A keyed scratch generally doesn't even need sanded, it can just be buffed off with a buffer. So if you know any friends or anything with one, buy some cheap compound and buff it off.
Exactly why is my guy making such a big fuss over it. The girls drunk so it's not 100 percent her fault. Shit like that is a risk ur gonna take especially if ur gonna carry a drunk passenger

Although in both situations the ppl are to blame for being drunk, they are very different outcomes, so I believe its OK not to blame a drunk passenger for accidentally scratching the car whereas a drunk driver shouldn't even get in the car in the first place.
As soon as she started arguing I would have said "Ok, have a nice night" and reported to Uber. After pointing the damage out to her, why even continue arguing with someone this drunk? Can't be a good turnout in the end. Anyway, sucks that Uber is giving you a hard time about it. They should cover costs for touch up paint at the very least.
Uber just don't care. I had an Uber driver scoop out an extra ten bucks from my card. I reported it and they laughed it off. I left a bad review on the Uber app, they replied to the review saying "we are very sorry, please contact us..." to make it look like they were doing something, but guess what? Nothing. No reply at all. They are all about taking your money, but they don't give a toss if you are ripped off by one of their drivers.
Burden of proof is on the accuser not on the accused..... Especially women who lie all the time, shouldn't be believed at all unless they have solid proofs.......... secondly, In men vs women matters, women are always in the wrong and it is literally a fact.......
I'm sorry, but if I had it on camera, reported it Uber, was paying an inconvenience fee EVERY pick up, then I would be suing Uber to pay for my repairs. Otherwise I would've dropped Uber like a hot potato. No thanks.
The qestion would be. Does these scratches cause an inconvenience. As in does stop you from earning money still , does it stop from moving your vehicle. Do these scratches which the customer caused, has it broken your car? Chasing a company who let's face it. Gets you work !! For them to pay none structural superficial damages for what a customer did makes no sense.. why chasing when it should the customer whom you should be dealing with...not company who has no obligation to pay for it. Let alone the company giving you work.
If she died its vehicular manslaughter if not she could press charges if he hit her or get insurance or wtv but the guy that commented said that cause she said the scratch was already there
