Hi friend 😊 Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the lacklustre ollies, shuvits, and kickflips! Subscribe to witness my road to pro skating (all the way joking lmao). Insta-josephinetuaiti Twitter-joshoshit
Thank you! I actually had a super easy time going down banks and dropping in. Im only just now getting my Ollies higher so I mean, ya win some ya lose some
really nice progression! feels good to finally see someone making progress at a normal pace, not those crazy kids doing kickflips off 3 stairs after one year haha! I've been skating for about a year as well and I'm progressing at a similar speed :))
Liam Calhoun I WISH I had a garage to practice in during the winter!! But I can’t complain about having access to a ski resort so that I can snowboard 😅
i love how realistic you’re progress is! i had to stop skating due to scottish winter and i’m at about the same level as you so it feels good to watch someone who isn’t doing crazy stunts in the first year! good job
@@josephinetuaiti5979 Get good at riding and doing shit on your board in general before kickflips. Learn 180s, GOOD pop shuvits etc. That kickflip standing is completely useless sorry to tell you
It's nice to see someone progress at a similar pace than me bc I've been skating for over a year and I still can't kickflip😔 and I never go to skate parks but I'm planning on changing that soon :) it's mostly because I'm very inconsistent lmao
¿piece of garbage? Consistency is key my friend (or at least that’s what I hear bc I do not know lol) I’m happy to hear people progressing at my pace too all o see is people doing tres in 3 months 👀
Ayo as someone who has been skating over a year, it’s gonna take a long time to kickflip and get them consistently.Don’t judge yourself and compare yourself to others skate progression because everyone gets better at different rates. As long as you practice you will get better. Keep shredding
This is my favorite lady progression video I've seen yet! Love your humor and personality. It's cool to see someone who keeps it real and progresses at a pretty normal rate (you're still doing awesome.. I'm nowhere near as close to a kickflip). I'm starting to gather more clips to post my 1 year progression in a few months! Or shit maybe I'll just make a 8 month-er now. Also congrats on winning your skate comp... your line was sick. Keep the vids coming plz.
Damn. GIRL. Don’t put yourself down so much. This is super inspiring. I bought a board a while ago but didn’t start really practicing until a week ago and it’s so hard. Totally wanna progress at a speed similar to yours, but i guess we’ll see how that goes!
I feel like I'm the only one who has been skating for 2 months and I can't even get down a fucking curb, while people like her can already Ollie after 3 days into skating. I just have a big fear of falling 😒 it's not fair 😂💔
Omg don’t compare your progress to anyone’s!! Everyone gets better at their own rate. I played some sports in school so I’m pretty used to taking some hard hits 😂
Thanks for adding all your weird moments and failed attempts. Sometimes when watching progression videos I get kinda sad that I'm not improving or that I look silly. This motivated me so much 💖👊🏽
good progression, but in my personal opinion the "Girl" in the title isn't needed because there shouldnt be a difference between a male and female skater. if you skate you skate and people should respect that
seenjeeen thank you and I totally agree! The “Girl” is there because I want girls just starting out to find this and I want this to be a safe place for girls to come and be open and ask questions ☺️ the difference between a male skater and I(in relation to my audience) is that some female skaters might feel more connected to what I’m showing or talking about!
you go girl haha, those rolling shuv it are looking great. i challenge you start ollieing over obstacles for the next video! i’m excited to see what you can accomplish. i know especially for me once i was able to ollie over things comfortably i got more comfortable in all other aspects of skating. good luck. ;)
Nick Swanson thank you SO much for the advice!! I can’t seem to get over the fear of eating it if I can’t make it over 😬 next sesh, I’ll dedicate my whole time to ollieing over obstacles!!
freaking love it ❤️🥺 I am planning on getting a skateboard and i am so scared of injuries (like broken legs not just scratches) but I have to live with that I am going to get injured :((
evi ¡ honestly I’m so scared of seriously hurting myself too! I just make sure I’m not doing anything too far out of my skill set so that I’m less likely to eat it 😂😂
Josephine Tuaiti yes I think i‘ll try that too haha anyway I wish you the best, stay stafe and keep practicing ❤️ (sorry btw for my bad english, I am from germany)
ok so i got my skateboard about a month ago and the first time i tried to ride it i sprained my wrist and now im kinda traumatized to do any tricks but this vid kinda helped with that so thank you!
I apologise if this feels a bit mean but I have no intentions of hate or being mean, but you should really learn the flick of your kickflips. You're flicking down, almost as if you're doing a late flip, which is something you're never supposed to do when learning kickflips. Nevertheless, great job!
Quarantine in Brazil is so sad for skaters. I decided to learn to walk in July, now I want to go to a track and the good ones are on the other side of the city. I do not have the courage to go there by bus, the ones here are very different from the USA, there is no distance, much less cinalisation of chairs to sit ... The situation is ugly here.
Court Gamer YT it makes me sad you can’t get to a good park :( skating has kept me happy during Covid life. Skating street spots like small curbs and stairs would be good though if you can’t make it to a park! Happy you’re doin okay even in the ugliness of everything right now ❤️
This is awesome! I can’t wait to see what the progress will be next year. One tip for the kick flip though. It looks like your front foot is right on top of the bolts. Try to move it back a bit. Also this will be difficult to adjust when first learning but try not to kick down to make the board flip. Just try to slide your foot off the corner of the nose. Your foot will automatically do the “flick” that you were practicing. Best of luck.
It seems like during a lot of tricks your ankle is rigid and not really flicking. You might want to try shoes that aren't mid/highs so your ankle can move a bit more freely. You're doing great, keep at it!
azK ehT no ones said anything about my shoes before I’ll have start wearing my lows more often!! Just scared if absolutely distorting my ankles though 🙃 thanks for the tip!!
Edie Elliott Hmmm that’s a good one, for myself I just had to realise that falling will happen LITERALLY everyday and that it’s never as bad or painful as I think it’s going to be. Also, the more you skate, the better you get at falling without hurting yourself 😂 don’t rush yourself
Yeah. Just grab your board and ride it. The more you ride it the more confortable and natural it's gonna feel to be on the skateboard. So, just keep riding it and eventually you'll have the muscle memory and you're gonna be way more confident in general
@@josephinetuaiti5979 its always interesting to see how people progress, my wife is learning right now and recently bought a board maybe we should make a video too. Never quit, I'm subscribing for more good content.
Hannah Ravs I love your avi 😂 thank you so much!! That’s makes me so happy! I’m pretty new too so I can’t say I recommend any brands but would definitely recommend getting something with a graphic that you LOVE or supporting a small local brand (something that makes me really happy). Having a board I love helps to encourage me to actually skate because every time I see it, I’m like heck yeah what a cool board 😂
what kind of graphics dy like? I have a ton of brands in mind but if you want somewhere to start you can look at Frog Skateboards, April Skateboards, or Girl Skateboards (these brands were thought of off the top of my head)
Honestly I don’t even know what graphics I like 😂 I like to support local so I grabbed a deck from my local skate company! Thank you though, I’ll have to check them out for my next purchase!!
Hahahaha just didn’t show any Ollie progression. Definitely need to be better at ollies though, put the kick flip on the back burner for a year to focus on more transition skating
Hello! I've been skating for a while, so I thought I could give some tips. When you kickflip, try to not restrict yourself. That sounds weird, but it almost looks like your body from the knees up is tied up with rope. Try to use the entirety of legs when you kickflip, I think it'd look a lot better. You've made some awesome progression, though! Keep it up!
I’m so glad I found this video I thought I was the only one who wasn’t able to learn every single flip trick in one year cuz it seems that every other one year progression video they somehow learn every trick
This was dope. We have only 1 female skater in a crew of 11. The ratio needs to balance better. Sick progression. Check out our upcoming skate battle betting pokemon packs -dropping tomorrow - and keep shredding sister 🤘🤘
I have an 8.25! And honestly I had no idea what I was doing when I chose that size 😅 i think you want to make sure not too much of your foot is hanging off the board/your feet aren’t too small on the board but it’s really preference and trying different sizes out
