My sister who works and raises guard dogs told me that a dog that can be happy whilst simultaneously told to attack is the best kind of dog. Dogs that get angry are far less inclined to listen to you when you tell them to stop etc.

If it's happy when it's working then there is probably a reason, whether they're catching a criminal running away or protecting their fellow officers. They are told to and if it's angry as said above then they will not listen, they will continue out of emotion, if they are looking for that reward then as soon as the stop command happens they will let go.... Because they want the reward.

Going primal... what’s happening is that dog gets rewarded for biting that coat (with treats and stuff). What it does is it wants to keep biting the coat because it associates that with a reward. If it was “going primal”, it would’ve gone straight for her neck. STOP SPREADING FALSE INFORMATION

I hope they're all professionals, because a lot of them recommend not teaching home dogs to be so defensive to such an extent. Due to the reasoning being if you're not too strict with them then the dogs could possibly disobey whenever and can make the situation escalate and go out of control, glad to see this dog is being trained fairly well though with it's rough grip

I think the thing I liked most about this interaction personally was the innocence in the dog's eyes even as it bit, I'm only realizing now the difference between a dog that's trained to bite and one that does it out of instinct, you could tell the situation was under control by the dog's body language, it wasn't showing any aggression through body language but was still as you could see doing it's job biting hard and doing damage, but otherwise the dog is in no distress, even in the slightest. What a brave good boy/girl.

did this hundreds off times, but it's not really that crazy. Yes a dog is strong, but when you 1,94cm and around 100 kg's the dog stands no chance ( with the jacket on ). Plus the dogs always get trained 2 grab the same places, so if you know that you can anticipate where he is gonna grab you and you can pin the dog down 2 the floor ( done it several times )

My neighbor got a Shepard as a tiny puppy and I helped raise him. Now he’s 100+ lbs. I’m SO glad I made friends with him when he could fit in a shoebox. *edit: yes I know the dog in the video isn’t a Shepard.
