0:14 the boss praising her and admiring her skills despite her appearance and how she makes others feel says a lot. Throughout this scene he gives warm and almost father figure gestures and cues, to her as if he cares for her in such a cold setting. Brilliant.

The problem is the next film in the series would have less Daniel in it. So he refused to do a next movie which is ironic because the actual next movie was completely new storyline. If you want to have Daniel and Rooney play these characters again another new story is needed with equal screen time thoughout the film.

Yep.. unfortunately Skyfall made Daniel Craig an expensive actor to hire. That’s why Sony was very reluctant to rehire for any sequels

That's a great point. It's like she subconsciously tries to make herself smaller, though her conscious actions and beliefs challenge that.

tom: These books (The Millenium Trilogy - so called, by Steig Larsson - he wrote 3 then sadly died of a heart attack) is one of the very best series I have EVER read. An amazing depiction of characters and story 💜💜 and what is more, all three are here on utube on the MakMark channel 👍✔💯

there are materials explaining this. Daniel Craig after james bond( the one with adele song) in 2012 became too much expensive, and first movie made too little money, so sony did not pursue that. Rooney Mara was fully commited and waiting for the Seony's decision for like next 2 years. She couldn't play anything else while being fully in the Salander character.

Curiously, both in this version and in the Swedish one, the Lisbeth of the movies differs greatly from the one in the book. Yes, she doesn't have any sense of office behavior (she came to that meeting in much more outlandish clothes) but at the time of presenting the report, she did it without complaining, not wanting to leave abruptly, explaining all the research about Mikael Blomkvist in a very professional manner. Is asocial and hostile with people, but very professional and competent at her work. I feel like both films got into the 'badass/outcast' thing so much that they just fell almost making Lisbeth in someone completely autistic or an even more repellent Reagan Ridley sort of thing.
