Sitafal in Bihar, Jharkhand, east UP means Custard Apple. In west UP, Punjab, Delhi etc to many people it means Pumpkin. Kaddu in bihar jharkhand etc means bottle gourd. Other parts kaddu means pumpkin. Pumpkin is also call kadima or kohra in many Hindi dialects.

Kaddu hi hota hai in genral..but North Indians call it sitafal. And in Maharashtra custard apple or sharifa is called sitafal. There are lot more veggies and fruits are called sitafal in different Indian regions. Based on the tradition that wherever Sita Mata went and ate regional fruit, later named as sitafal.

hey Harnoor, I was at chai pani in September of 2018; amazing place with street food as close to India. Loved their Sloppy Joe version of Mutton Keema pao. Do try that. while in Decatur, there is another Hyderabadi restaurant called Zaika... do try their dishes. It is amazing.. do wanna visit with you if you have time when i travel again to atlanta :)

Bhiya we call Pumpkin "Sitaphal" In northern part of bharat and Konhara in Bihar. Pumpkin meaning on google is wrong. Kaddu is always in Green Colour and it's inner part is white not in orange colour.
