I'm happy to see this type of "Special Clips" especially for SNSD because live performance is one of their strength. They practiced Into The New World (ITNW) for 1 year before debuting and with a total of 7 years building their other skills (dancing, singing, variety, etc...) so when the girls debuted, they're really ready to perform.

12:33 yes that's so true, I love these 2nd gen stages so much for that very reason. Their debut stage for ITNW they also sang without backtrack and still pulled off the entire choreo just like in the stage you started this reaction with, which is pretty insane judging by today's standards

I saw in the document there are two extra slots for special clips so I assume those are for live stages that are unrelated to the albums. In that case i would definitely recommend more Into The New World stages like the accapella version or if it's towards the end of the deep dive even the ballad version.

Fun fact about Beginning; That’s actually a cover of Swedish girl group Play’s song “Two Blocks Down”. I didn’t realize it until 2016. I am so up for a 5 month deep dive into my girls{which will also be like a refresher for myself}.

This may be a super hot take but I don't like the editing on their Japanese concert releases. They are a bit overzealous with the sound editing so you that you can hardly hear the audience (fanchants) until they cut awkwardly in and the vocals have been edited to dampen the reverb and pitch corrected so much that it sounds like a studio version. You can usually hear when they are singing live (or not) more clearly on the Korean dvds👍 which is what I want! Because they ARE singing live and their vocals are so good! I could be wrong but I believe this version of Complete is the Japanese release of the performance (even though it was filmed in Korea). That's why the audio sounds off to me. I have the whole concert album on my trusty ipod classic so I've heard the original audio a bajillion times 🤣. Either that or I'm an idiot 🤣🤣 Anyway, gripes over 😂 soshi concerts are the best! I'm glad you have so many clips from them lined up 35:09 oh 😂 back in the crusty old days, people didn't have lightsticks, they had balloons in the group's official colour. Then they used plain old sticks in that colour (that you saw earlier) and eventually in 2018 soshi FINALLY got an official lightstick (which is kinda shaped like a heart, so we came full circle 😂)

i'm here!!! very happy with the video selections and yes, their live vocals are amazing :) edit: their dance practices are quite good, you get to see their formations in full and synchronization, the only problem about those is the absolute potato quality lol. about their lightstick, that pink glowstick was sold at their concerts but they didn't get an official one until 2018, it was first used at taeyeon's concert because they were on a "hiatus" at that point

2nd gen to early/mid 3rd gen, groups would be criticized if they lip sync their live show performances that's why also during that time MR removed videos were super popular. Those were the days. hahaha

Sharp, synchronized coreography, strong vocals and very little make up was the selling point for SNSD. Their talent and hard work should stand out not the costumes or make up.

I don't know why but in those debut era stages their mics are often very quiet (case Jessica 11:45, 28:41 ) and the camera doesn't show the one who sings (case Seohyun 30:37 ) or dances (case Hyoyeon 30:03 ) i always get mad when i see it.
