Originally written for 26 episodes, executives abruptly cut it down to thirteen, forcing several loose ends to be tied up hurriedly late into the series and some characters' backstories being unexplored and their issues left unresolved on-screen by the time it ended. The director was not happy about this at all, plus this decision has helped contribute to a lot of the flak this show has gotten.

Dang that's honestly heartbreaking. I love this anime even as is and have recommended it to friends who have all loved it as well. I would have been so happy for more of it.
This is one of the greatest Anime I ever watched. Everytime I think of Angel Beats I'm near to the tears. One of the saddest Anime in my opinion and the first which brought me to cry
1 thing I didnt like about shigatsu is the constant flash back scenes that lasted like 2 seconds about kosei not being able to forget. Its nothing compared to the upsides of the anime, but it just annoyed me XD
I was a teary mess when I finished Angel Beats. Now I'm in the middle of Clannad: After Story. I've only cried a couple times, but I can already tell much more is yet to come...

This song brings back really sad memories for me.. When I started watching angel beats my parents were going through a rough divorce and I'd blast Iwasowa's music over all the yelling.. And then she got a brain problem the third episode and I got migraines and a horrid pain disorder! T-T But I fulfilled Iwasowa's last wish which was to save someone.. She saved me from commiting suicide and introduced me to the wonders of japanese music. :D

The playlist isn't official by any means, likely someone just copied the songs from the album (Keep up the Beats!) onto their PC, made a spotify playlist using those local files and left it on public. You can't listen to the songs because they're not actually on spotify, they're just someone's local files. Another possible explanation is that they're only available in some countries (possibly only in Japan) but that seems unlikely. Anyway, there are no songs on spotify that require premium for you to listen to then. I don't know who or what gave you that idea.
I don't know about how they are now. But back in Angel Beats day (2010 or 2011), technically LiSa is much better than Marina in voice and pitch control. If you watched they live concert, u'll know what I mean (especially the final operation - last live) And if you think LISa only scream without any connection to the song, wait till u see her sang "Ichiban no Takaramono" I love both of them as they have different type of voice
Read manga, get character development, and on the contrary, they did a splendid job to be able to create, break and reshape such diverse characters in thirteen episodes. Those 13 episodes hit me like an emotional roller coaster that I won't soon forget.

I haven't watched this anime for like 3 years and just started watching it again, now I'm starting to understand it more because I'm more mature, I love this song! I cried the last episode when I first watched the series. I wonder if I'll cry again when I watch it... we'll see ^_^.
The real question is have you seen the OVA for the series?? Heard it gives the fans a big "F**k You" to the face because of what we find out. Have yet to see it cause I stopped caring for the series awhile back, but the music is great.

For people who wanna know.. Angel Beats is being "continued". It was originally slated to get 24 episodes instead of the amount they got now. Except bevause of money issues they had to cut it short, like some of you might've noticed. At the moment, a visual novel by the original authors (and Key) is in development so we can finally see the story as it was intended.

The show had its problems, but the music was fire. Jun Maeda was an amazing composer in addition to all his other talents. Hearing LiSA sing this classic is really special.

those who say Marina is better than LiSa are wrong! they are both amazing. LiSa couldn't have done M songs the same and i dont think M could have done LiSas right. they both have a voice thats fits each individual role. (just my opinion here, sry.)
Girls Dead Monster is one of my favorite J-Rock bands after ROOKiEZ IS PUNK'D and FLOW, their music was so awesome in Angel Beats that I just had to follow them.
