This is called “transition contacts”, just like when you get eyeglasses that can transition in the sun to either brown or dark grey you can also have cls that do the same. Acuvue transition contacts (look it up). I work as an optician, and sell these for a living (no ones eyes transition like this normally).

Those are photochromatic contact lenses. Eye specialist here! Edit: photochromic and photochromatic are both acceptable terms for any lens than darkens on exposure to UV light. Edit 2: Under no known natural circumstances eye changes color that quick. It takes a long time for inflammation/cancer/drugs to change eye color. Lol I work at an eye doctors office and these are transition contact lenses just like glasses that turn dark in the sun these are contacts that also turn dark in the sun they came out about two years ago!

My eyes are greenish gray with a golden amber central heterochromia... if I'm in the sun, they turn an intense golden green... if I'm very relaxed and in a soft lighting environment, they turn gray with golden central heterochromia...

The way I can tell she’s using some sort of contact. Is because her pupil didn’t dilate at all, it stayed quite big and if you were to stare up into the sunny sky like this, your pupil would shrink a LOT

Blue eyes are blue because they're the only eye color without pigment. The sun doesn't suddenly add pigmentation to your eye.

My eyes are usually hazel or blue but can go more green or more bluey-grey depending on the the sunlight as I’ve stated before. These are prescription contact that turn black when you’re outside Quick update: I use to work for Lenscrafters about two years ago, and this was one of the latest and greatest contact lenses that they came out with. Its call “Transition contact” they suppose to protect your eyes from the sun. It works alot like , transition glasses.It’s pretty cool but it’s very freaky and demonic-ish if you have light color eyes, i.e....blue, green, gray or hazel. It take between 5-7 min to completely transform to clear when you are indoor . Which is kind of weird if you go to a restaurant and you eyes start changing color right in front of your waiter . And about 1-2 min when you are outdoor. You do not need prescription to get them . You can get this at your local target or Lenscrafters’s . And yes it gets very dark, it actually turns dark brown to black depend on the level of the sun ray.It covers the cornea. this could be a great alternative for very active individuals, soccer , football etc.... also it’s not recommended to look directly in the sun just because you have these lenses , you still could go blind. In the old days before transition lenses were ever invented and contact lenses were a new invention , I was engaged to a latina/asian lady whose eyes changed from dark brown, to reddish brown and then to olive green depending upon the amount of sunlight she was exposed to.

I'm pretty sure those are contact versions of my glasses that tint in the sun. Which reminds me that I should probably enquire about these with my optometrist.
