I used to play Baby Hazel all the time with my siblings when i was 4-5 years old.

Theory : Hazel's pets are actually her missing siblings. Let me explain. The pets have somewhat human names, and if you know Hazel, Hazel wants to be the center of attention. So I think Hazel is a witch. If, Hazel is a witch, then so would her two sisters. Or so you thought. One of the sisters fought back with her own magic, which I think is the dog human. The cat would have been her baby sister. But her witch sister would have fought back as hard as she could and ended up failing because Hazel is well, Hazel. This explains why the dog looks like a human mutation. Then after her siblings went,"Missing" Her dad got really angry and started drinking and abuse. Her mother, trying to be the best possible, would have tried taking Hazel away with her. And then Hazel, being the indecent brat that she is, would have put a spell on her parents to get her whatever she wants, whenever she wants and love her forever. And then her parents have the bright idea of getting her a cat, and a dog. At this point, Hazel would have already twisted the breeder's memories to think that her siblings were in a litter. So her parents choose her siblings after feeling a connection to them. Hazel would have forgotten to erase their memories, so then they go home and the magic-sister turns all of them young-- But forever. And then she puts an enchantment on Hazel to where she could never use magic or come in contact with them again. And as a final spell, Hazel makes everybody in the world love her. Lastly, her sister locks the world on a year in the past, so now they are all the same age, forever, with all of their enchantments, their woes, and the only one with a mind of what's going on is Hazel.
