+Shayanne Smith. Mental Health is on a spectrum and anybody can be affected by poor Mental Health. She didn't open up about her struggles because people like you made her feel like she shouldn't be complaining because she has money and beauty. There are some experiences she may never have to endure.i.e having to worry about paying her bills or not getting enough food, but that doesn't mean she can't have personal struggles. She reveals in her book that she was diagnosed with a panic disorder and that the mere thought of having a panic attack in public left her isolated and depressed. You need to stop being so insensitive just because she's a celebrity. She's still human.

Jason O'Daniel I have already acknowledged in my previous comment that Gisele doesn't have to worry about certain things that countless others do such as whether or not they can afford to pay the bills or feed their children, but that doesn't make her struggles with her mental health invalid. It is also true that variables such as having a poor SES can affect an individuals mental wellbeing and that those with lower SES are at higher risk of having suicidal ideation. These facts I won't dare contest. I agree that it would be nice to see stories featured on news outlets of other individuals, not only celebrities, speaking out about their struggles with mental health. It will help bring more awareness to the general public and hopefully decrease the amount of stigma. So there are points we agree on. However, Gisele shouldn't be retrained from sharing her experiences as well. She's not profiting from this book, all proceeds will be donated. I won't spend more time and effort discussing this matter with you. Especially since you have decided to resort to Ad Hominem statements. Attacking my character without having any insights of myself as an individual. You are also making such statements toward Gisele, referring to herself as an airhead, whore etc which does nothing to improve your stance.

Silly comment. I'm a veteran and like thousands of others, Transcendental Meditation is the best thing that ever happened to me. There are hundreds of published scientific studies showing how TM helps on every level of life.

I couldn't agree more. This world is lacking a great deal of compassion for our fellow human beings. We all need to be more understanding and be able to put ourselves in other people's shoes. I wish people did that for me when I needed them to. I had to take the toxic people out of my life.

I have OCD. It's gotten very bad over the years ever since I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which is the highest ranking pain condition in medical history. Stress causes the OCD to worsten. I'm pretty sure I was born with OCD because everything always had to be even and perfect. But when I was 15 it really hit me hard. For two years I had repetitive thoughts that destroyed my life and made me want to end it. I got help with a wonderful therapist and I was put on medication. I got a lot better. But at 20 when I got sick with this physical illness the OCD crept back in. I have no quality of life anymore because of the CRPS. It's known as the suicide disease because there's no knowledge, awareness, or treatment for it so many people kill themselves. I've had it for 14 years. I'm 34 and have never known love. I'm unable to leave the house for long periods of time and I need my mother to take care of me. I'm not physically able to do much. Even speak. And this has brought me tremendous depression. My good friend who had the same condition I have killed herself four years ago. She was 31. I honestly don't know how much longer I can take this knowing I have no future in store for me. I've been isolated for too long and I love to be social. I'm so sorry you're going through so much fear as well. I get very nervous when I leave the house because I'm afraid I'm going to get physically hurt. I have it in my ears so I can't speak or listen to others and noise is brutally painful. I know what it's like to be in constant fear. I wake up shaking with anxiety having a hard time breathing. I'm always anxious. I'm always prepared for the worst. And I'm always sad. Who knew how cruel our minds and bodies could be to us right? I hope you are able to get help one day and live the life that you want and deserve. I'm sorry I wrote such a long message but I just wanted to reach out.

People who practice TM reduce drug and alcohol use, and stop smoking. TM is now being taught in schools in more than 60 countries around the world. Was Forbes highest paid models for a record 14 years and has always been a socially conscious model.

I wouldn't say that prescription drugs don't help anyone. That's a rather generalized statement. Ultimately it depends on the illness that the individual is suffering from and the severity. In Gisele case with Panic Disorder, I don't think Xanax should have been the first line of treatment, since there is evidence based research that illustrates that CBT as well as other psychological treatments produce good outcomes. Luckily for her, relaxation seems to have worked for her. However, for other disorders, a combination of medication and therapy may be considered the best avenue for treatment depending on the severity of the illness

Really? And you know first hand on certain mental illnesss. Just to let you know some ex drugs do help do keep people focused you sound naive.Your body is chemically made up you could be missing some sort of embalance in your system. Suicide/ bipolar is just that some rxs work and have succeeded for instance I have a thyroid condition hormone imbalance I take synthroid to reduce my thyroid to help keep in balance it actually also helps keep me on a positive note as well. Girl please don't think that all drugs are wrong . I do have family members who have suffered from anxiety issues depression have changed their diet but still take a anti depresent do your research.Know what's best for you I'm sure she eats healthy but something with her strikes me as off bipolar manic you just don't change your life completely without seaking some type of treatment. Like I said healthy life changes work but sometimes certain people need a little extra help. Don't be naive.

Just stay away from drugs. So many books outside talking about toxicity of them. Start with doctors like Peter Breggin, prof.David Healy,dr.Kelly Brogan, Ann Blake Tracy...

Ambar M right and being rich and beautiful doesn’t equal a sound state of mind. You can be rich and still be miserable and hit rock bottom, especially when your inner peace is taken over by anxiety, which can lead to a deep depression. This can happen to anyone! No one is exempt.
