Alternate Title: Fish Are Friends. VERY good friends.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I Explain all of the Gishki cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! at time of recording, how they work individually and together, as well as synergies with other cards, You might even learn some trivia while you're here!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone! GoldenNova here! We're at a weird conflux where, last week, we talked about Nekroz, AND Photon Hypernova just released support for a theme that the Tier Zero Ritual Threat draws a lot of inspiration from, both in design and in the Lore, Gishki! This infamous Duel Terminal theme not only acted as a devious antagonist for Age 2.0, but was also a stealth terror at big events for it's ability to strip your hand of cards before you had any way of stopping them. But with some new card, will they be able to stand up to the modern metagame? Only one way to find out!

I think Gishiki is the pinnacle of what a Ritual centric deck should be, a good mixture of monsters that search for the ritual spells, and the ritual monsters themselves being mostly to great choices for big plays.
@jtalkalot19
@jtalkalot19 Год назад
The gishki monsters who are spirits because they died in-universe. The aqua mirror traps shows one of their deaths via ritual summoning. And somehow she gets brought back to life later and becomes a nekroz monster. Ariel gets it the worst though? An ice barrier survivor who becomes part of the gishki who later becomes an shaddoll only to become an evigishki later?
@thomasbitmail7937
@thomasbitmail7937 Год назад
Idk about the actual lore, but looking at the artworks themselves it becomes clear, that Ariel's current version is still the Priestess of the Nekroz after she has been rescued from one of the Infernoid container-lantern-thingy. If you look at the Nereimanas artwork, she doesn't have the Nekroz Mirror on her hat, only the new Icemirror and the regular Gishki staff. The new Mirror is an anomaly itself tho. I guess they were trying to fill some plot holes in the DT storyline. As for the Shaddoll part, it is also confusing since Nereimanas is kinda supposed to be an upgraded version of Mind Augus, but at the same time it became Apkalone sooooooooo Although i read something about them using the Naturia Tree's mechanism to bring back dead bodies, so maybe she actually died somewhere and then were brought back?? Jsus Konami gimme EXPLANATION

Ariel is flip, not spirit. She is in shaddoll as base so theoretically it’s forced her into augus post corruption for the fusion. Her staff in nere is nerkromirror, the mirror doesn’t appear in shaddoll on hat but does post fusion. So just assume after fusion she stole it from nekroz as it would have been the blue print for nekroz mirror. Or you could just assume el shaddoll anoyatllis stole it to survive nekroz Trish when they chose to fuse with devyaty

Another interesting tech is Zaphion. It’s a Level 10 Monster that gets rid of Backrow, is Water for Nereimanas and the draw a Card Effect isn’t OPT. So you can make some crazy Combos by bringing it back through some Links and keep Drawing Cards
@gustavo-fy8tc
@gustavo-fy8tc Год назад
yesss i love this combo I also like using the ghost sister to replenish my LP after/before using Ice Mirror, Zielgigas, etc
@GreatBigPillock
@GreatBigPillock Год назад
GISHKI GANG A tech I've been having a lot of fun with is Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood. Since Icemirror, Zielgigas and especially Photomirror burn through your LP like they're going out of fashion, you need some way of getting it back to keep yourself alive. And Dogwood can give you plenty when your opponent inevitably combos into it. Furthermore, Dogwood can be easily brought back with Nereimanas for some Synchro shenanigans. Quite a barking mad tech if I say so myself.
@fabulousspunky701
@fabulousspunky701 Год назад
There is another card called Morph King Stygi-Gel. You can make this cards Level 10 by choosing a Level 10 Monster, gain 2000 Life Points and make cards like Ultimaya Tzolkin to summon Dragon Synchros from your Deck, just like with Hieratic. It’s nothing special, but all of the other Life Points recovery cards like Altar for Tribute, Mystik Wok, Destruct Potion, Sebek’s Blessing, Supremacy Berry, Rainbow Life, Draining Shield etc. are just plain Recovery Cards and don’t do much else. It’s just hard searching for good cards that do a little bit more than just giving Life Points.

Aquamirror Illusion has two of my favorite entries on the Yugioh Wiki's Trivia section because there's just something about the way they're worded. "The effect of Gishki Emilia that negate Trap Cards effects could be like her trying to stop this card." "This card's artwork looks (probably intentionally) like the scene wth Ursula in The Little Mermaid. (Line break) Note that "Emilia" is grasping at her throat. (Line break) This could possibly be the event that turned "Emilia" into a Spirit monster, implying that this card could actually depict a death."

Gishki could have been so much better if they didn't have no many normal summon reliant effects. If at least half were on summon, it would have been better

The funny thing I like doing with Forbidden Art, is using the "Urgent Ritual Arts(I think that's what it's called) trap card, to perform a ritual summon during my opponent's turn, bypassing the negative "Cannot Attack This Turn" and getting a Ritual Summon during the opponent's turn, especially if I can get one that will interrupt their plays.
@christopherfeatherley

I play Gishkis with Nekroz, and whiles the odd and even levels may seem a bit awkward, they surprisingly work very well together, especially since Vison, Grim, Shadow (and sometimes Shurit) help fulfill the exact Ritual cost. They're surprisingly powerful together, being able to support one another and search key support. Just a fun rogue deck

@@MrDegan2 And Drytron ran so fast, they caused others to get disqualified. That's right, Eva and Benten took the blame. For certain, the next archetype that'd do something wild with Rituals would be restrained, as seen with Libromancer. Zoodiac held back Springans too.

@thomasbitmail7937 Год назад
@Guilty Hat Drytron just had a nice synergy with Benten, the Herald was already in there, so they just broke it via Eva and Orange Light, and the not once per turn Benten. The Diviner was a nice support there as well. But out of the two decks i would say Nekorz is still the viable one, they just need more ways to recover and play through HT. But they can run multiple going second cards and one Unicore can get decks wrecked easily.

Labrynth & Reptilianne most recently. I reccomend my friends to check for your content if they're interested in discovering a new archetype or want to learn more about the lore. The puns are great too. How consistently you find play on words fits really well with the spirit of the game and honestly became impressive after some time. Again, thanks for the response. I hear a mention of Aromage in a video where it is decidedly not supposed to fit in, I rush to the comments section. Me and my dumb desire to shove them into decks they don't have inherent synergies with now desperately wanting to see Aromagishki work. Love that Gishki set the bar for decent Rituals with how effective their monsters were. Also, I totally didn't catch that the phrasing on Icemirror skips the level check if you use your opponent's monster, that's so cool!

"...now desperately wanting to see Aromagishki work." - I'm sorry to report that I decided not to adapt Aromas as a Ritual archetype for my long-suffering Arc-V fic, more so because it was for my Ritual Bracelet Girl OC and her Yu-Boy is still getting Gishki. While I was proud of Aroma's appropriateness both thematically and in being easy to write in duels, it was just a little too restricted in its sequence of play for my tastes.
