Using affordable Royer R-10 ribbon mics without damage on drums, percussion, guitar cabinets, vocals, strings, piano and room mics. Or you can use PZM boundary mics for a large drum room sound. Your drummer's talkback mic can also be used as a room mic on mixdown, plus they'll really appreciate being able to communicate during tracking sessions. A good pair of drummer's headphones also comes in really handy when recording soft vocals, acoustic guitars, percussion and strings. Finally you can eliminate that pesky metronome click bleed.
