@@yueshi4133 Agreed! The way this film was shot and edited (as well as the "black&white - to - color" transitions!) to give off a particular feeling......and I LOVE it! CHANEL has succeeded once again! It is better than a slow, plodding kind of show. The adrenaline rush I got was fantastic!
This is the perfect debut in my eyes. Taking design elements from staple Givenchy pieces and creating what looks to be cozy yet well tailored and fabricated garments. Could be better, but definitely hit the mark. 8/10 IMO, But I’m a Matthew Williams fan...
What I love about the comments under fashion show channels are the 'youtube comment critics'. Usually dry, subpar commentary from nobodies who have a comedically strange sense that their critics will be taken seriously from anyone, much less, high league fashion editorials.
@@mae-mx1rt I work in fashion, a designer for a high end brand ...So I don’t understand what you’re saying? The people who designed the garments you see are bunch of “nobodies” that the company relies on to push out collection. The director just approves them ... and the brand name sells them. It also isn’t hard to see when thought is put into a design or what thought was conceived in the process it’s Art at the end of the day. If that was a clap back, you should think about what you say first
@@realebonyiman at the same time @mae fails to see how she's including herself with the nobodies to even voice her thoughts. She should be really careful as we are in an era that the masses of nobodies will come to a juncture where they will have to make the choice to no longer be deemed as nobodies.
I really wanted to like this direction but honestly not a great debut. There were a few suits I liked but aside from that I don’t have much to say that’s positive. The Menswear was bad and this whole Matrix post punk ghost in the shell vibe really didn’t sit well with me, I guess Givenchy will have to be all about the accessories for now...

Might be some one who loves Clare’s elegant style. But I think this show is great, it’s cool it’s edgy, it’s 2020’s cool young people’s way of dressing. You see inspiration from those British cool boy bloggers. Also mixed with youth underground culture. It’s a more easy way for people to try who is so afraid of Ricks and so on, I think this is a great collection, commercial enough for edgy fashion lovers, and also different from those hoodie brands.
I love Clare’s work too. They are very different. But somehow it looks connected, I think this is a great job for them to move over to a new direction without going to far(like what happened to Celine), overall, this is not everyone’s style. But I do think there are many items can be it items for the next couple seasons . We just need to wait for a while before people accept the new looks. I had hard time getting use to Raf’s dior a decade ago. But now I love it so much. Things can can change over times. I think is is somehow redefining a new style tribe. Mixture of Wang’s American streetwear to the European edgy designs. And somehow also very Asian streetwear too. Everyone can find a piece to love. It blurred the boundary between sophisticated style and streetwear. I think it’s a show stands for diversity.
they don't like the fact that someone who doesn't have a traditional background in fashion; Matthew M Williams is at the top. They revert to calling it cheap garbage because he has a 'streetwear' background.
MONSTER PRODUCTION... EVEN THOUGH THE RUNWAY CONCEPT WAS ALREADY DONE BY ANOTHER FASHION HOUSE...THE COLLECTION IT'S AMAZING ! PURE MAGIC AND FUTURE ALL IN IT !
Only positive is the music. The entire collection is lackluster. It isn't bad. It is just that it feels that the collection was pulled from multiple qualities from other designers. When you design in Paris especially, your voice must be special. The collection was in the situation where there was nothing wrong with it, but at the same time, there was nothing that made it worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
Why's ALL these autumn winter ❄️ 2021/22 videos soooo fast moving. It flashes here, there, up above,. Above looking down. And all the models are like doing a fast walk/run. NOT very cool or classy
@@ovomaximus165 who walks like that in New York... No-one. Not even in the freezing cold would any woman walk like that..... Unless they are being followed by a RT
Not a great season for Givenchy, I'm afraid. A few of the pieces were great, most of it was throwaway. Also, copying Lee McQueen's iconic shoes was a mistake. He is forever branded with that footwear and it was not right of you to use it.
Styles change, 20’s, 50’s style is now considered glamorous and elegant. But I’m sure when they introduced those back in the day, the old ladies grown up in the 19 century corset certainly disagreed. I think our society has changed, so is our lifestyles. Do you still wear the stuff people wore I’m the 50’s and 60’s movies everyday? I’m sure you might worn joggers and sneakers some where somehow in the past 10 years. We are all part of the trend.
there are quite a lot of evening dresses and tailored pieces in this show, I’m sure you can style then in the common way when they hit the store. They are still quite elegant. The style depends on how do you tell the story and how do you wear it. This collection has a good balance of new and old. I actually think it’s better than balenciaga.at least they fit nicely. And it’s a smooth transaction from the last season. I think we should do our best to support the taste you like, Not just say things like good taste is no longer a trend. Givenchy didn’t sell well in the past few seasons, and it was Uber chic and elegant. Maybe we just didn’t buy it enough.
Giving me Alex Wang Fall ‘13. The McQueen “Armadillo”shoe is reincarnated as a street boot! Another ‘open brag’ collection tailored made for double clicks. Meh!
"Lets put the divine Givenchy-worthy couture sensibilities of Claire Waight Keller in the trash bin and hire a hype beast designer instead" said the dumbest fashion executive in the history of Paris fashion.
Givenchy!? Серьезно ? Неужели все в Санкт Петербурге одеваются так? И прямо по улицам ходят? С личным водителем и с заездом на подземную парковку может ?
Not a big fan of the direction, but I will say that it is very Givenchy. Each house has their signature vibe to them, and Givenchy is usually a dark mysterious vibe so at least Matthew Williams understands that about Givenchy and not making it like Alyxsm
