For those who can’t make it to Claude Monet house, there are free virtual tours on line. You “walk” through the house in any direction you want and have a 360 degree view at any time.

I recently traveled to the city of Barcelona. Most of the museums require a reservation to get a ticket with time slot. It helps reduce crowding….making it much more chill and relaxed. Just my 2 cents, get an extra battery phone charger for peace of mind. Either way, what a beautiful place to visit! I will definitely need to put it on my wishlist🌷✨

Minus the scary hike, it was a wonderful video! Lesson learned. In addition to what you already had, bring a friend and an extra charger. 😮

I agree that doing this in September even early October, or early June will be better with less crowd and milder weather. Definitely I will do this hike with at least one other person.

This was awesome - thank you for being honest - I would have felt exactly the same way about the crowds and the lonely hiking x

I’ve been on a tour group to Monet’s garden 7 times. We all roamed around free range. No guided tour. It is generally pretty busy there. I’ve not encountered any rude people. Sorry that happened to you. I am that person that gets asked to take pictures of people. Lol I generally eat at Hotel Baudy. The food is very good there. I’ve also visited the cemetery beyond the hotel where Monet is buried. I was unaware of the hiking trail. Omg! So sorry you got lost also!!! It’s so beautiful there though. There’s also a nice variety of horses, chickens, goats and cows in the area. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the tour; sorry it wasn't less stressful. I can completely imagine myself getting lost on the trail as well! I love your adventures and channel.

It was great to re-live my visit to Giverny through your vlog. We went last year in late September. It was far from empty, but nowhere near as crowded as when you went-only a few tour buses. It wasn’t such a great experience trying to get to the Saint Lazard train platform from metro stop! BTW, I wouldn’t let some other commenters discourage you from going on a hike alone. Everyone gets lost occasionally.

Thanks for taking us alone, but why did you go on this hike alone, especially having a challenging sense of direction ? Hope you learned some tricks to better enjoy your next adventure❤️🇫🇷❤️

(from Houston, TX) We went mid-September last year. Looking at those crowds is exactly why we don't travel in the Summer or on major holidays. We went on a small van with 7 people as a day trip. They company booked the tickets for us. on the drive, the driver showed a short video about Giverny, and left us in the parking lot to go our separate way, with a time, several hours later, to meet back at a designated area. I'm not sure, but I don't remember any large tour buses. There was no wait to get in the house either. I was extremely delighted and pleased that so much was in bloom, in the gardens. They really do keep it beautiful all year round. I read a historical fiction- Claude and Camille by Stephanie Cowell right before we went to France. While the book was based on his first wife, Cammile and mostly about his early life, this book made the house a lot more personal to me. While in Paris, we also went the The Orangerie and to Musee Marmottan Monet. These as well as all of the other museums and sights of interests. It was a lovely trip. I love watching your tour videos and will definitley come back to them if we plan another trip to Paris.

Sorry you had a rough time on the trail, I did a similar thing when I was in Germany, many years ago, I was lost in the forest for hours, terrifying. Love your videos ❤️❤️

I went to Giverny in June last year, I loved it! Some areas were crowded but I didn’t mind it so much considering the beauty of the area. I would have liked to explore the town a little more. For sure I wouldn’t do that hike!

Charming, if scary, tour. I think the visitor center's employee should have TOLD you about the shooting range. CRAZY. I think the walk solo was a mistake. Live & learn, dear girl. Keep up the great vlogs BUT take care!!!!!

I loved my visit to The gardens and house. If I had an endless amount of $ I would recreate the whole thing and live in happiness surrounded by the inspirational beauty of nature. I thought the Lilly pond was magical. We were fortunate that the tour i as with (Trafalgar Tours) arrived very early and it was end of May. So not crowded while going around the pond, but yea soon did become very busy. As always bathroom facilities (in France) are always inadequate. So be prepared for long lineup, so don’t wait until the last minute…I think there should be less people allowed into the gardens at one time. Each of us on our tour had our own headphones and so we didn’t have to stay close to our tour guide to hear what she was telling us. So we could spread out a lot. Wow 😯 definitely you should have been told there was a shooting range! That’s disturbing. Interesting how you we glad there was no one else on the trail at first but then very unhappy when you were eventually by yourself. I’d say you need to always carry a extra battery pack and probably hikes are not your forte if you are directionally challenged or map savvy. Oh well, you learn by trying 😊

Such great advice! It does sound like you should have a someone to go with for safety when traveling to unknown areas...for safety. I would have been uncomfortable, as well!

It's too bad that there aren't more park benches and small tables along the way so that people can sit down and have their lunch.

Il vaudrait mieux ne pas randonner seule quand on n'a pas le sens de l'orientation... Je suis randonneuse et personne dans mon groupe ne part seul, de plus vous risquez de faire une mauvaise rencontre ...
