Thanks for the video. Have just taken delivery of a set. I found it helpful to loop the straps round the crashbars, prior to bringing them round to the front d rings. Also looped the top strap round the top of the crash bars. Find the bags sit more securely and are marginally more difficult for any opportunist to remove. Cheers

Good idea, I’ll try that! Where did you manage to get them as appear to have been discontinued and another subscriber wanted some

Good vid and they suit the bike. I have had Givi products for years but like others went for the Lomo crashbar bags which are almost identical. One thing i noticed is they also give you a little bit of weather protection around the knees.

Thanks Bob, likewise I’ve had Givi over the years and been happy with their products, these seemed to fit the Bill for me as wanted them as small as practicable and very happy (so far). I hadn’t thought about the weather protection aspect but you’re absolutely right! Was thinking about Lomo but unavailable until spring, they do represent excellent value! All the best, Andrew

Thanks for watching and commenting, it’s appreciated…coincidentally I’ll be doing a video in the next few weeks discussing the bike modifications, how they’ve held up, pros and cons, along with what I’d fit to again if upgrading to new bike…should be interesting to watch as I’ve used summer and winter over a number years 👍🏻

5he bag Looks nice. I believe it will help if the bike tip over. What comes in my mind is that with long distance trips you have a lot of short stop (gas, lunch etc) and itbwill be a challenge if you need to take the bag down.
@thecampingbiker791
@thecampingbiker791 3 года назад
Hope you’re feeling a bit better! My thinking is the same, if it tips over offers a bit of padding and bike slightly better angled for picking up (hopefully). Having thought about it, I’ll leave the bags on permanently when travelling and already have some ultra lightweight 5ltr dry bags that fit perfectly inside so will use them to put the gear in with the added bonus they slide in and out easily! if need to remove contents just pull the dry bags out with there contents inside! Had a go in garage using these lining bags and works a treat...will eventually do a review of the bags on the bike when I can get out for test run and will show how good the liners work then 👍🏻

For some reason this didn’t appear in my notifications. Just had the lomo ones delivered , the price is excellent £47 inc delivery. Great piece of kit although mo shoulder strap. I was surprised that they are made in China. I think Givi look better tho. Nice and informative video (as usual)

Hi Tony, I did consider Lomo but when I wanted some bags they indicated on website that they were unavailable until spring! Decent quality and good prices....In the end the Givi were slightly smaller, which suited my usage, and available 😂 I’m surprised Lomo ones are made in China, thought they produced there own gear! The Givi are top notch quality but still think the Lomo is great gear for the price. Keep safe and thanks for your comments 👍🏻

Hi Carl, thanks for that, i just make videos that I’d find helpful, not that slick but hopefully of use! The bike is coming on great, I’ve taken time to consider everything and nearing perfection for me personally, however I’ve got a big decision to make re suspension upgrade and I hate spending money 😂 Glad you noticed the new outro, I’m playing around with different ways of doing things..in my amateurish way 😂 👍🏻

Hi Rick, thanks for that 👍🏻 I’d agree with you on value for money with the Lomo and they get good reviews also. Was thinking to get Lomo but their website shows none available until Spring and I sort of wanted some now, however I’m pleased with the quality and fitting of the GIVI to my Honda and once I’ve made a decision on something I never look back. I might have just got the last pair in the UK 😂....In truth, there didn’t seem a lot of stock of anything from anyone within the UK and some issues over buying from EU. Now, we just need to get through the zombie apocalypse and get motorcycling again 😆

Thanks for a great review. I can't seem to find the Givi T513 online, have they been discontinued? 5L seems like the right size for an engine guard bag.

Thank you Reli, yes they seem to have been replaced with an 8ltr one called CANYON GRT722. Looks similar but different way of tightening the straps..I can see that as a slight improvement but would need to see how much bigger they are so tape measure will be out later on to see…I’ll message back after doing it

@@thecampingbiker791 I noticed the GRT722 too, but 8L seems a bit large for the engine guards. I guess I will have to go with a different brand.....over the years I owned multiple GIVI panniers and top boxes and was always pleased with their quality and aesthetics. Oh well, live goes on :-)

Had a very wet day on return home, which coincidently also successfully tested all the luggage for keeping waterproof, and did find they deflected the rain! On the fuel side going down I used the motorway all the way south (hate motorways but actually wanted to test bike) and the fuel figures were about 67mpg sat at about 75mph over about 3 hours (so, about 4.2ltr per 100km) Coming back via A&B roads all the way it was doing about 80mpg, which is nearer the lifetime average over 8926 miles at 83.7mpg, which is quite remarkable!! (So, return was averaging about 3.5ltr per 100km). Just proves motorways are horrible for bikes! Hope that answered the question 😂 👍🏻
