Congratulations to the family Kosi. I was wondering also that it's been a while you posted and was even thinking it was work. So happy to hear the good news. May the good Lord keep our little prince. He shall grow in the strength and might of God. I can imagine being first time parent, support is indeed important. I remember always praying every step of the way that I don't go wrong with bathing or pressing the wrong side and so on. But today my boy is 4year Old and we didn't do that bad if I must say. I wish you and your hubbs all the best. Stay safe and sane... Also get all the rest you can when baby is napping. The sleepless night can be draining. Overall, I pray the holyspirit teaches you to be great parents. You surely would be. Thank God for a working system. No one even cares about postpartum depression in Nigeria and many women goes through it. Hopefully one day, our nation will get it right. Xoxo
Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed it. If it’s the standard one year leave, the dad can apply for up to 5 weeks. It can be up to 8 weeks, if it’s the extended leave.
Congratulations to your family. Pls do you have any information on: A new PR who arrives canada roughly 2 months before giving birth, being able to obtain the health card in time to access free delivery? Thanks
Thanks for your wishes. Requirements for obtaining your health card differ from province to province. For Alberta, you can apply as soon as you land. It would be mailed to you when it’s ready. As long as there are no delivery delays, you should get it in a few days/weeks. For Ontario, you need to be physically in Ontario for 153 days before you can apply. I hope this helps.
CONGRATULATIONS new mommy. I feel u for being FREE...for someone who went on medical tourism to America to birth, being FREE is such a good feeling. Tempting me to do one for the road 🤓.
Kosy, this is a good one. Please, can u do a video on giving birth on a tourist visa. The costs, care difference between one on PR and tourist visas and other important things to know. Thank you
Congrats on your baby!👏 And girl, you are glowing🌞 Thanks so much on the positive video on healthcare in Canada. I had my first in US as a visitor so we paid out of pocket but the experience was so great that we currently didn't mind. We are currently hoping to migrate to one of Canada's Atlantic provinces hopefully soon and I have a couple of worries about the healthcare system. 1. Availability and ease of getting a family doctor 2. The general experience (I've not heard a lot of great reviews)
Thank you so much ❤️ In Alberta, we have a directory online where you can search for family doctors based on location albertafindadoctor.ca/ But I’d advise that you also ask people for recommendations too. The truth is, I’ve not had any bad experiences with the health care system here. But I’m aware that some people have. One thing I’ve learnt is that you need to advocate for yourself. Otherwise, there are chances that many of the doctors take things for granted if you don’t pressurize them. All the best with your move 🤗❤️
