I was wondering what a sequel of the "Wonder" formula could be, but this would totally be something. Nintendo might shy away from different characters having different abilities, but man I'd love to see this!

Man, I LOVE the Wii-channel visual style you've added throughout, and the illustrations for every character being as high-quality as they are? This was so much fun! I hope you make more videos as laid-back yet highly produced as this one sometime!

I’m gonna add my little additions to these concepts. Some are even overhauls. Hope you like them! ^^ Ostrich Luigi “Waaaah!?” Ostrich Luigi naturally has the dash badge’s powers on this form with a bit less speed. They also put their head into the ground when they crouch. When they uncrouch, a bit of terrain shoots upwards, or if you move just as you uncrouch, it’ll shoot in an arc. This one was perfect for Luigi. Having him awkwardly become useless like that is up his ally. Dinoshi “Rrrrrar!” Instead of becoming a croc, Yoshi gains the massive jaws of a T.Rex, with spines to boot! Dino Yoshi can keep HUGE objects in his chompers if tongued. If you crouch, Yoshi crunches and destroys the object. Spore Toad “Aaachoo!” I decided to get creative with this one and make him not an animal, but a poisonous spore mushroom! Enemies that stay in the spores too long will be defeated, and you can press the fire button to go ACHOO! and fire the spore cloud, pushing back enemies and objects. Squidette “Blurb bloo!” Toadette’s head turns into a round Blooper, and her walk is now a little bounce. Her jump is now floaty, and if you jump again, she’ll dash in the direction you were holding the move button. She can only do this once. BUT, in water, she does it ALL the time in long, satisfying, destructive rocket bursts. Daisyroo “Heyo!” Daisy becomes a kangaroo with mighty thighs! Daisy will now be able to immediately kick objects back and parry certain enemies using the fire button to send them right back to where they came from. Also, if your item slot is full, you’re able to store another item in her pouch until it flies out open damage. Since wearing a dress as a kangaroo is weird, Daisy will get an apron akin to her dress. Butterfly Peach “Flutter by~” Peach will become the size of her small form, and is now able to hover off of the ground. Not too low as to make it useless but just enough as not to cheese any levels. If you press the fire button, you’ll glide quickly, being mostly invincible and able to kill enemies that way until you stop. As her dress wouldn’t fit on her as a bug, the dress shifts too. If you get hit as a butterfly, you revert to small Peach, not Super Peach. Cannabbit (Explosion) Nabbit’s head is now a cannon. Aka, a fucking gun. Nabbit will aim his head wherever he’s moving and the fire button will let him shoot pot shots weaker than fireballs at a rapid rate. A great power trip for little Timmy.

Something I thought of for Luigi’s is he could stick his head in the ground and enemies wouldn’t notice them and pass by, something silly like that

The issue with this is there are levels specifically designed around the Elephant's powers that, while you don't NEED the Elephant berry to beat them, using it makes them a lot easier. Giving everyone unique animal forms with unique movesets would essentially just make them all lesser in those stages and even risk making them broken in others.

This is really cool! It gives each character a unique ability, which means you actually have a reason to use other characters, other than just for cool points. I feel like they should all have similar swing attacks, but they all have a slightly different ability (like the elephant being heavy and the Luigi one being able to dig his head underground to become invincible or something)

I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that was thinking this. The designs you guys thought up for this were absolutely incredible! I love these guys so much!!💕

The usage of scientific names is a neat touch And even if for jokes, the villains being prehistoric extinct animals is oddly fitting. Since many will say that prehistoric relatives of modern animals are more powerful

Funny you made Nabbit into a bat because I always saw similarities to Batman, especially with some of the badge abilities

What Super Mario Bros. Wonder *TRULY* is Missing is boss variety. There was so much potential to bring back original bosses for this game that got lost in favor of different Bowser Jr. fights which is a huge disappointment.

It is cool, but a problem I can see is unlike peachette, which was an acorn that can move and is just reserved for one person, these are to different and you would probably need player exclusive levels for these.

Honestly, only the cute animations and fun interactions with each other are enough to make one want to stay on the channel for more videos. Amazing quality and effort you put into this. Guess I'mma visit the channel and see what other videos there are.

Imagine if Yoshi in Crocodylidae form ate another Crocodylidae powerup- Could he get even LONGER?! Like a bus, so all your friends can ride?

If yoshi could use items instead of a color change they should be given a tribal outfit that is colored on their base color along with their body changing depending on the power up.

0:34 I remember looking at Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach in Mario Kart and coming to the conclusion that those power ups were specifically THEIR power-ups, no one elses. So, if they were Sonic characters: 1: Mario the Raccoon/Tanooki 2: Luigi the Fox/Kitsune 3: Peach the Cat 4: Daisy the Elephant 5: Rosalina the... Bee? Rabbit? Cat? I don't know...

the idea of “what if animals were the basis of power ups” is just like. donkey kong country? in a way? like you can just take the animal buddies from dkc and adapt them to specific characters. let toad be a swordfish

The only thing it’s missing is level skips from the secret goals but I have basically no issues with that because it means I get to enjoy the game more

0:46 another idea is when luigi sticks his head in the ground, if you hold run you could do a super dash after lifting your head and the longer you keep holding run the faster (but if you hold it too long you get hurt and lose the power up)

Having luigi stick his head in the ground could be a cowardice/hiding ability that lets him not be seen by regular enemies.

I was thinking Yoshi could've been like a dragon or something, since there are several enemies that are styled after Dinosaur land dinos but are defined as dragons.

Not gonna lie for a while i was secretly hoping for rhino luigi,gazelle peach,and honey badger nabbit(couldn't think of anything for daisy,toad/toadette,or yoshi tho.)I do really love ostrich/rhea luigi,flamingo peach,and crocodile yoshi tho.

The opera power up looking kinda sick

My opinion: Luigi as a giraffe- Long neck, can be ridden on, neck can be climbed up. Fruit would be a pear Peach as a flamingo-flies, can walk on lava (flamingos are extremophils, so this is an exaggeration). Fruit would be a peach Daisy as a Land-shark- Swim really fast in water levels, can chomp enemies and throw them as projectiles. Fruit would be an orange Long yoshi is perfect Toad as a Sheep- Can roll into a ball or ram into stuff (bed-um tss). The fruit should be a blueberry Toadette as a rabbit- Can dig tunnels like Animal Kirby from Kirby squeak squad. Also can jump higher and we up decoys to confuse enemies because rabbits are often depicted as tricksters. The fruit is a pink Banana.

Suprised y'all didn't just make Nabbit a Rabbit. Seems like the most logical but I love the bat idea since Nabbit is made to be "easy mode" anyways.

Okay Hear me out If Yoshi had been compacted into 1 character, with a seperate mini-menu if you wanna pick the color, or maybe just switching colors with L and R That couldve already made for 3 more characters slots Which couldve let us have, in my opinion, Wario, Waluigi and Rosalina How cool would that have been? In my opinion, potential for more characters was mainly taken away by the re-use of Yoshi though i do understand programming more characters wouldve been hard, it still wouldve been very cool

I'm pretty sure Bucken berry and Ala-gold are fanon names. I remember trying to look em up on the super mario wiki and there not even being any redirect links and trying to find a source for the names, for nothing but a reddit page and a bunch of unrelated stuff to pop up and upon looking a little further into it today, it seems like the source for those names is that a writer on the site destructoid essentially went "I talked to a nintendo representitive and the guy said that the dev team had nicknames for em and whispered that into my ear, so i believe it." and that's it. unless we somehow get proper confirmation about that (which i doubt will happen anytime soon concidering that post was made in 2009) I'm pretty sure we should just call em blue toad and yellow toad.

okay but what if the powerup depends on who hits the block, so everyone can use each other's power-ups, though with reduced efficiency also you forgot to do one for mario & allagold. mario seems like he'd be a gerbil and to fit with the sonic theme allagold could be a flying squirrel
