Giving Forza Motorsport Another Chance 

I actually caught you online yesterday! We drove the pre-race practice and qualifier together on Laguna Seca in Forza GT class. You and I were 1 & 2 in qualifying. I was just excited to see you, so I stayed in the pre-race longer than I planned to (had to meet up with my family). I wanted to race you so badly, but I couldn’t be late to my outing. Turn 10 still refuses to acknowledge there's anything wrong. So much of what the game was sold on is still nonfunctional or nonexistent, with no clear progress being made beyond fomo content and dripfed bug fixes.

It still has a bunch of problems, but it's also still quite fun to race with friends and I've had some of the most interesting and exciting races I've had in any Forza on this title. Also we are pretty critical of T10 but Grand Oak and Hakone are actually pretty good. The short Grand Oak kinda sucks, and the reverse version is only okay, but the regular full version is surprisingly good for racing with multiple lines through several corners. Hakone Full and Club Reverse aren't great, but regular Hakone Club is fantastic for racing stuff like touring cars, every corner has multiple lines and with the draft it's basically "ol' switcharoo" city. Would highly recommend getting some friends together and racing the Ginetta Junior, no upgrades and no tuning. Fantastic little car.

i love the heck out of Forza 6, and I was so excited when I got my Xbox with the bundle. But they just haven't done anything to make me want to buy another Forza game.

The online racing has definitely improved. It's still not as rich as the other Forza games but T10 have improved alot. I don't think we will get a full single player mode on this game but I do enjoy playing it but I'm not a core player any more great for pickup and play.

If you wanna play this game in a good and fun einviroment, the right step to do is to join a league. Most leagues have their own homologations and that does solve the balancing problem for the most part. At least that's what we do! And we have even Multiclass, which is completely absent from the online MP hoppers!

Bump drafting actually works now. They changed something with it on one of the updates. Lobbies are still pretty random, but last update basically took E/D drivers out of the equation, and supposedly tries to match better on safety. This seems to have the side effect of it being more common to find somewhat competitive drivers in your lobby, as it takes the matchmaking longer to build the lobby and gives it time to find similarly rated drivers. Still pairs fast guys with uber slow guys and everything in between, just more common now to find guys close to pace occasionally. Matchmaking will never truly work until it's done like IRacing or GT7 though. Doing it at the end of practice based on rating (not qual) would have it done against the whole vent instead of as people join.

This version of Forza was the very reason I bought a PS5 and Grand Turismo. So disappointing and now I’ve moved over I wouldn’t look back.

I was hoping for some conclusion at the end. But i must say you did some good clean racing. GG

Forza is a good game as long as you accept it for what it’s worth. For some reason people want it to be Assetto Corsa or iRacing… Forza is a racing arcade game with a a decent format and online player mode. Thinking you’re going to get professional e-racers all with cockpit set ups is just ridiculous to me

did they at least fix the graphical issue if the entire track going black and driving on nothing but air?

Seems everytime they fix something they break something else. After the last update every time i exit quick race the game crashes. As noticed in your last race and in single player quick race why does it allow different class cars in the same race. . I pick the class car i want and most of the AI has the next class up ????

I've been enjoying forza for rivals and some multiplayer when our whole party can finally get in without something being unable to enter the lobby

For me i would say that some of the carmodels looks great to use for sims

I love playing Forza but man I feel like in the GT hopper you play the same tracks over and over

Why cant we just create a lobby and race. Practise and qualifying may add realism but its doesnt add fun. I wanna do race after race after race, with no qualifying and soft tyres for the whole race with no pit stops. JUST LET ME RACE!!!!

I waited till May 2024 to buy the game, hoping the updates had helped a lot. I never dealt with that horrible car-grinding issue. Bottom line though, it’s just boring. Shortest (and most boring) career mode ever. So many cars sound like garbage. FM7 was/is so much better. I think the Horizon series is doing so well (despite plenty of negative feedback), they just have no priority for Motorsport.

Still not worth even buying in my opinion i dont see much changing either witch is true shame for what the series once was.

IMO Forza is on the same trajectory as COD at this moment in time. They're using the name in hopes that people will buy it because it says "Forza" and don't care about what issues it actually has. I'm glad I didn't pre-order this one like I have for pretty much every motorsport game since FM4. Six years of waiting for a game that's just meh...

I play FMS at work and GT7 at home, FMS is ok but massive delay in throttle response is annoying. Nothing competes with GT7 though.

The AI frustrates me at times but I have thoroughly enjoyed the game, it’s less pretty than horizon but it’s much more straight forward which I like.

Is it still online only? Im not going to buy a game that will be taken away from me in a few years that practice should be illegal

They just left this game for dead. Not adding any content. I mean horizon 5 car list is more interesting than this. Tracks are just not enough and all they added are old ones. If they start to put good and new content maybe people get back to fm and then by adding events and leagues this game can get in much better situation. But till now content wise this game was a disaster.

They did say they are reworking the penalty system and will be adding more tightness to the skill group

Theres still too many stupid penalties for next to nothing like running wide when u lose time or 'avoidable contact', and the tunes are still WAY too powerful - it should give u 0.5 secs imorovement but it can give u 2 or 3 secs improvement - totally unrealistic. However, i do agree the game is improving slowly.

Wow many people have whining about a good game as a hobby it seems. I think forza is a pretty good racing game.

I get everyone’s criticisms but honestly I don’t care, I think the actual mechanics are brilliant and it allows for some very pure wheel to wheel racing online I think initially online was bad but that’s expected in my eyes, because everyone was new to the game and it takes a while to gather data for the ranking system to be able to work effectively I still want them to implement features, but as a raw racing game experience I think it’s hands down the best “simcade” out there, better than gt7 imo, which feels a bit too “rigid”, in that the mechanics just feel a bit off to me, they don’t allow for super close fiesty wheel to wheel racing like forza does, forza allows drivers to really express themselves, I love it

From launch it should of had every track, every car, every feature from FM7 but each thing updated to current expectations. Instead we got half the car list, worse car sounds, half the track list and now I’ve played every track 100 times and want a new motorsport game. Wish FM8 had more single seater race cars with actual real life sounds like Lewis Hamilton’s Vodaphone F1 Car and Schumachers too, give us Zonda R, MC12 C, Murci GT1, F1 GTR and also more Le Mans Classics with accurate sounds. Ferrari FXXK and 599xx have a much deeper angrier sound irl but in the game they are way too high pitched and sound terrible. Engine sounds are too quiet we need to feel the noise. Currently the only accurate car sound and it sounds really good and it’s loud and crazy is the SCV12. So that’s the only car i drive

Theres so few people who played this that the flood of "Forza is actually GOOD now" videos that were inevitable. Have been basically this and one other one. It was so bad they didnt even bother on the rebound clickbait.

I thought I’d give this another go recently. Installed, Mmmm…..much better pc performance. Few laps with a controller…..much improved. Break out my wheel…..Nah, still drives terrible with a wheel. Deleted, back to AC and modding.

In SP mode I hate this game. The pad settings are quite broken, even with all assists off. The gfx on Series X are just too processed and they aren't sharp to look at. Everything looks defused and false, there's little sharp track texture close to the car. It does my head in. I won't ever return back to Forza now sadly.

Why are people not more upset about the always online

It’s an incomplete game still. Missing so many features and hoppers from FM7. Missing tracks too, it’s just miserable to play

Pishh I'm done giving Forza chances. I've gotten to the point I've uninstalled the game, I have no desire to play it, not the least of excitement running through my veins for this game. It's over this game has loss me.

I stopped playing because it's basically bumper cars,,,,,good game if you don't mind the undisciplined drivers,,,then there's the weird combinations of cars that race

Gran Turismo 7, especially in its current state, is better than Forza by every metric.

This game doesn’t even have enough content for it to make any sense. There’s still 10 or so tracks from fm7 not here for no reason. Forza GT class was made by monkeys it’s poorly designed thought together, as well as having outdated cars everywhere with nothing current. No TA or V8 Supercar class for those few cars either. No sense of community and the career mode might as well not exist.

The fact that people still actually defend this game and continue to do so is beyond me. Comparing it GT7 is like comparing fresh food and expired food then asking which one you want to eat. The two games are in different leages leages and gran turismo will always be the superior game

im a offline player. my skills are far too low to mingle with humans. and i DESPISE the utter absence of race tourneys to do. the fomo trash theyve introduced is so stupid. glad to see the online racing is decent at this point. i wish theyd optimize this game for the pc. with a modern top shelf rig i still cant get 70fps consistently. parts of tracks are fucked. parts of tracks WILL NOT give me over 50fps, shit so jarring and awful on the pc. xbox x. looks better. runs smoother has more consitent frames higher frames. makes me sad they wont improve much.
