Love how Pak tries to help and is encouraging to players he can tell are newer to the game. Letting them take back plays that aren’t optimal so that everyone has fun.
It's really refreshing to see, too many times people who are really good at the game get super big heads and look down on people who are newer or aren't as good and create a crappy playing experience.
Don't most people at locals allow replays? I know at my locals I allow most people to take back stuff cause they missplayed or something at the end of the day its a locals not a regional or ycs
@phoenix5095 Yea thats been my experience too at locals, the whole point of locals is to have fun and test strategies for possible upcoming major events. Allowing the other player to do a take back, actually benefits yourself so your playing against optimal boards and plays
What happened in the first duel is what i love and admire of Pak more than their achievements.. it' s so rare that a player like him is so kind and incline to encourage people that are at events without an accurate preparation but only passion for the game❤
I love your way of communicating with your opponents. Its actually nice to play against people like you that will explain what cards have GY effects and what their cards are capable of. So many players don't explain their cards and won't tell you they've got GY effects so you into it. Keep it up, nice vid!
Been playing so much with Sword Soul with DUNE and AGOV format, it is a deck that has at least some form of answer against the meta (or nearly all decks), both first and second, however you must play the most optimally or else a single misplay just nets a game lost. It feels very sad that this deck has received NO DECK CHANGES or any real support ever since its release unlike Branded.
It pisses me off that Konami wasted every oportunity to give Swordsoul some decent support since Sinister in BACH. Ringowurm itself should be a wyrm; Swordsoul Punishment should be a quick play.
There was a chance that konami should gave swordsoul wind synchro swordsoul, dark synchro swordsoul or earth synchro swordsoul. Even the main reason for not giving more supports because "well there's no room for extra story for swordsoul." It made more mad.
@@Ragoodtama wind and earth yeah dark no. Because dark swordsoul can't exist due to the lore of being someone who has no malice within to be in the swordsoul clan. But yeah they failed. But you never know they may be able to make swordsoul support by making alternative versions of existing swordsoul cards.
its so sad they didnt want swordsoul to have a good go 1st or 2nd quick spell that can be searched but gives other decks omnis that can be searched lol
11:26 my dude out there bringing striker to a whole other level by summoning Kagari, add back engage and putting her back to the extra instead of sending her to the GY 😂😂🤝
I’m ngl, it kinda sucks to see when people wanna say these rude comments over what pak did at the ycs or when things like that happen in general. Locals means a lot to some people yet he literally coaches people throughout the match to help beat him as if he doesn’t care whether he wins or loses, just plays to improve. Nice seeing you playtest many different decks btw, keep it comin
How nice you were to thst first player was truly heartwarming i wish everyone in the community could be like you, you have gained a fan and a subscriber thank you for showing true sportsmanship pak!!!!
I played swordsoul in the last regional here in México and I got 6-3, ending in top 60 😅 sw is really good and I hope konami gives them some love in the future
@@GameConnoisseur69 actuallly, I think swordsoul is really straightforward. It’s combos are simple when going first but is more complicated when going second, it depends on the matchup. But in general I believe is one of the easiest decks to learn about modern ygo. Give it a try, its also cheaper than most meta decks rn 😬
I have a ruling question: Why does his Red-Eyes Fusion at 38:05 go through? You negated the effect with Ash blossom. He countered your Ash with his monster in hand but it couldnt resolve because you chained Blockout to pop his monster on field. Am I missing something? Or is it so that just the last part of his monster effect (which would be to flip the monster down) is negated, but the first part of the effect (the negation) goes through. Because the card says "when your opponent activates a card or effect: You can send this card from your hand or field to the Graveyard, then target 1 "Subterror" monster you control; negate the activation, THEN change the targeted monster to face-down Defense Position." And also after that you said "REF does resolve because Ash negates the activation" if I am not mistaken? But Ash does not negate the activation. Ash negates the effect. So if REF gets ashed, he still won't be able to NS or SS other monsters in that turn because he *activated* REF. No matter if the effect got negated or not. But maybe I am missing something or did understand something wrong. Anyway nice replays.
What are your thoughts on the Superheavy Samurai version of Swordsoul playing Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon to get a Baron (or a Dragite instead without Bike) on the 5th summon?
Am I missing something? Or.. could he not have used Alert! to search for Turbulence here? 1:09:33 link both into SP and then summon turbulence by banishing both Alter! And hydrant from grave? And set 4. Unless I am missing something which could also be the case- since I am not a R-ace duelist xp
6:50 pak should’ve used Draco beserker here not chixao as Draco beserker would stop his opponent from being able to link off the green extra deck striker into shiz
So maybe it’s only a master duel thing or maybe no one caught it but at 2:30 using shaman effect stops you from activating effects other than tenyi so the taia he summoned is dead
Reason being is because in response to imperm, Pak chained Dragon Circle which removes Mo Ye from field. Since the chain resolves backwards, at the time imperm is trying to resolve, its target, Mo Ye, is no longer on the field and therefore cannot be negated by imperm. Card effects resolve at point of resolution and the chain links are finished forming.
I'm having some trouble playing swoswo versus unchained.. If you make a board they might just normal aruha or rakea and battle, summoning abominable during damage step to destroy one of my synchro monster and then the other by battle. Any tips guys?
Chengying/Longyuan is probably the answer? Unchained doesn't like to get their stuff banished. Maybe also Draco Berserker and/or S:P can help you deal with those boards.
@@threevelayt5302 Disaster, Rage and Anguish can also remove chengying, but that's why you also consider the S:P (or Chixiao, so you can negate then trigger chengying).
Draco Berserker and Evil Longuan are definetely the way to go. Once you banish their Sharvara (out of hand), yama and Shyama they have a VERY hard time to play. Just gotta know the chokepoints of enemy deck and know use your toolbox to the maximum. Swordsoul is insanely versatile and adapt very easily into every matchup. Often times against decks like tear you would also try to end on different end board. And note that Draco Berserker will win you the Unchained Matchup on its own if you know how to use him.
Is that CaliEffect's voice in the background? Or I've watched too much his videos 😂 I love the way you recorded these duels and the way you're playing, I've learned a lot about Swordsoul as a beginner, I recently started playing it, and I wasn't aware of a lot of potential plays I saw here! Thanks!
I know no one asked, but I saw this live and the last round (the r-ace player) said he quite un comfort about pak's chat would said horrible things because he play the deck not optimal. I get that, but sometimes we read a text from someone with different tone. Even we meant it in flat tone, people could took it wrongly, so consider what you type before send it chat. Now for the solid critique for him: As a r-ace player for ±6 months (not bragging or want to be praised but i just realize i play quite a while) i just discover a little for siding pattern in this deck. If you commit to put in play 2nd cards, you should put out the traps since they not give you any impact as fast as you want. I saw r-ace trap between 2 nibirus on game 3, it's quite sad honestly. Should've be starter cards or any staples like talent or something instead of the trap. And as for game 1 turn 4, you could: Ns the air lifter add the field>make s:p with diabelle and air lifter>attemp turb eff>dodge with s:p(if pak activate the 3rd imperm)>recycle>then you have potential win. But it's fine, people makes mistake sometimes. Hope he improve later.
at 30:18, when Kaina was special summoned, couldn't Pak just chain sinister to Kaina ss effect to banish it and burn for 1200? Shaman only locks activations from extra deck monsters, but sinister was summoned from the GY, so he could activate it, than battle and game. Or am i missing something?
@@KCS_ there are so many cards that people play that arent searchable.. i really dont understand how people use that as the only reason to not play a card.
This dude so genuine in helping other players grow and learn. Not a lot players would let their ops take back moves let alone show them a better line to take for maximum value. Keep it up Pak.
How did pak end up with the token around the 14 minute mark? Dude chained imperm to his mo ye and pak chained i think heavenly circle tributing the mo ye / is it a timing thing or a missplay im just confused here 😅
Imperm targets to negate so chaining the circle basically dodges the negate since the imperm target is no longer there. For future reference this applies to all targeted negation I believe.
Can someone lend me a hand making my side board? Im playing this list but i feel lost: -3 barrier -3 nibiru -3 droll -3 evenly -3 kaijus Cards i own that are good choices: -all bystials but druidswurm -2 lightning storm -1 duster -3 antispell -3 solemn judment -dd crow In general i play vs tear, kashtira, floo, traptrix every tournament.
crow or bystials definitely against tears, droll good vs floo, storm good against traptrix but generally if youre going 1st vs them you win, kash dies to most removals like storm, duster, evenly pretty easily
I already liked PAK already but after watching this I feel like he is the GOAT. Being nice to newer players and playing SS like a pro, I still can't believe he allowed that player to take back the Imperm column play. PD: We need a deck profile.
He already checked for Ash with the pot of desires. It increases odds of drawing hand traps when you do the search as ch2 since his hand already made a strong enough board. Think that was his mindset.
@@zenith5048 You're wild if you don't Ash pot of desires especially against a deck like Swordsoul. As the other commenter mentioned, Pak did Cl2 Chixao to eliminate the possibility of drawing the card he is going to search. In other words, he prefers to draw non-engine like hand traps.
Wow 3 local videos in a week. What a treat! Love these videos. I do get irritated on every time you shuffle the graveyard since it's something you aren't supposed to. (see the card "question" if you want to know why) But I love the gameplay more than my pet peeve lol.
Love this channel, this is the content Team samurai X1 needs to do. Instead of doing masterduel where most cards in his deck are band in the TCG. And deck profiles 😒
