Thanks sooo much for any content on this device. I would love to see more content on it. There is surprisingly little on YT about actual setup in spite of multiple rave reviews on it.
Your more than welcome. Is there anything specific or do you think a tips and tricks video would do. Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome on board. 🖖👍
I have occasionally had this too and I'm not 100% why. Try first acquiring an internet connection without the VPN on. Make sure that works. Then try turning the VPN on again. If that's not sorted it then delete the VPN profile and reapply it.
do you know how to do portal in hotel where mac doesn't work bc hotel knows the device type/name/os? can only change router name not os etc. seems like in us and other countries do. of allow these anymore. also seems to allow 1 ip into access only so no splitting 1 ip into new lan ip etc. goodbye switches too.
You can do a few things to try to resolve that but ultimately if a hotel has implemented a strict set of measures to stop it, it may not be possible. The simplest method is to see what network details it assigns your phone such as IP, subnet and gateway and Mac. Then assign those to the repeater section in your router. Don't forget when you clone a Mac address you will need to turn off the WiFi of that device or forget the network. Some networks will not allow 2 devices to have the same Mac address on them and if you've cloned your phone's but your phone's is still connected to the WiFi that's why your router is not connecting.
I have Visible Plus and it has unlimited hotspot/usb tether but it’s capped at 10mbps. What i’m wondering is if i run a VPN option through the Gl Net dashboard while connected, would it unthrottle the 10mbps cap?
There is no way to uncap the speed as that is set by visible for hotspot. A year ago it was 5mbps so 10 is better although still slow by today's standards. No vpn will increase that as the traffic still passes over visible network. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
Hey thanks for watching. To access fan settings when on the main interface 192.168.8.1 by default. On the left hand menu (if viewing on a mobile you'll need to hit the hamburger menu top right first) go to system, overview and then on the right hand side of CPU load you'll see a 2 persons and a cog button. Click it and you'll see the fan adjustment settings. Usually the fans kick in if the router goes above 75* Celsius by default. Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome on board 🖖

@KLTechVideos main thing is I use it as a VPN to my home network. You plug it any where with internet and it acts like you're at home. So if you have a server you need yo access, you can no problem. I just took it on vacation and I was about 12 hours from home and I was getting 800 up and down. Look into it, it's amazing
Yes I too use wireguard to connect back home to my homelab. It connects straight to my firewalla gold se router/firewall so also harnesses the power of it's security features as it appears to be behind the firewalla when the vpn is on. Its a great tip for sure. Thanks for commenting.
Appreciate it. Sometimes when I attempt to do the repeater with a captive portal. It works when my VPN is off, but as soon as I turn the client on, I lose the internet (client works if I connect to my hotspot or other non-captive WiFi) any thoughts there?
Highly likely the connection your using is blocking VPN access. Try connecting to the same VPN on your phone first while connected to the third-party internet connection. Also ensure you have successfully logged into the third party WiFi before attempting to connect with your travel router. Then connect with Mac cloning as described in my video and after verifying all is working then turn on the Vpn. Also double check the VPN configured on the router is setup correctly. Test it at home too.
Are we talking SIM card modems or IEEE authenticed networks? Anything specific your looking for info wise? Thanks for watching and your comments. Don't forget to like and subscribe, welcome onboard 🖖
I followed your video step by step, but I still am not able to get internet access to my computer or phone through the Slate AX 1800. On the admin portal it shows that I am connected to the internet and a repeater as I am in a hotel. My internet shows I have a connection when I am both connected via ethernet from the AX 1800 to my computer or via Wifi. Yet whenever I try to actually go onto the internet, I get a "No internet" message. I copied the MAC address from my phone like you said in the video, but I just dont know what is actually blocking the internet. I have also changed out the password on the router for my own, yet whenever I try to connect to it via my phone, it says incorrect password. It is 100% the same password that I put into the routers admin panel that I put into the phone to try and connect to the router, but it fails. Any help would be appreciated!
Do you get internet access on your phone while connected to the hotel WiFi? If yes then after copying the Mac address do you forget the network on your phone as you can't have both connecting to the hotel WiFi? Sometimes you also have to set the ip address of the router to the same one your phone acquired when it first connected. I screenshot the WiFi connection settings on my phone before forgetting that connection on my phone. Also are you running a VPN on your router and does turning that off allow an internet connection? If so the hotel could be blocking that vpn. Let me know how you get on. 🖖
Hi thanks for watching don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard: The Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) and Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) are both travel routers from GL.iNet, but they have key differences that may make one a better choice for you than the other. Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) Pros: Smaller and lighter, ideal for travel Lower power consumption (3A vs 4A) Newer MediaTek chipset with potential for better OpenWrt support Better Wi-Fi speeds (especially on 5GHz) 2.5 Gbps WAN port for faster internet speeds Double the storage (256MB vs 128MB) Cons: No microSD slot Cannot connect to EAP networks (e.g., some enterprise Wi-Fi) Lower WireGuard performance (but still sufficient for most users) Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) Pros: Quad-core CPU vs. dual-core on Beryl AX (better for heavy multitasking) MicroSD slot for expandable storage Can connect to EAP networks Slightly better WireGuard performance Three Ethernet ports vs. two on Beryl AX Cons: Larger and heavier Higher power consumption Older Qualcomm chipset with less potential for OpenWrt support Slower Wi-Fi speeds Which is better for you? If you prioritize portability and Wi-Fi speed: Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) If you need a microSD slot, EAP network support, or better multitasking performance: Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) If you are looking for the best travel router with the newest tech and future proof updates: Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) Overall, the Beryl AX is a newer model with updated specs and a focus on travel convenience. The Slate AX offers a few extra features, but the Beryl AX may be a better choice for most users, especially considering its future potential with OpenWrt support.
Hi Sir, I was able to configure my router and my NodVPN, it was only one laptop that was able to connect to the internet via my GL-AXT1800, it was the one with which I was able to configure the router. The other computers for my family, were unable to connect. Could you help me. Even if I have to buy you some things because we're going on a trip in 3 days? Thank you so much!
I tried to tether through my S24 Samsung but i receive the msg "interface connected but no internet. " i enabled Usb tethering and Mobile Data Sharing through the settings and still nothing. Please help
Hi thanks for watching. Who is your mobile provider and do they allow tethering on your data plan? Not all do. I have an s24 ultra available to me so I'll try this later to. Don't forget to like and subscribe 🖖
Could you also double check your plan in your mobile hotspot allowance - www.verizon.com/support/mobile-hotspot-faqs/#:~:text=A%20Mobile%20Hotspot%20lets%20you,to%20your%20monthly%20data%20plan.
It works perfectly for my s24 ultra. I'm on EE a UK ISP. Both usb and repeater modes. Have you contacted Verizon and discussed it (tethering) with them? It's possible something on their end. ISP's can block it.
Pi hole is good too. I found it easier to apply DNS rewrites with adguard at the time. Regarding not using adguard because it's russian, you do realise they relocated their headquarters to Cyprus in 2014. Also the project is open source and has over 85 contributors from many countries. I get what your saying but I hardly think you can label Adguard as Russian. The code being open source is also examinable by anyone and it has over 23 thousand stars on GitHub. If anything was dodgy I'm 1000% sure it would have been discovered by now. Thanks for watching the video and dont forget to like and subscribe if you would like more 🖖
