Thanks Barry, The event, was a 5" gauge "Ground Level 5 inch Gauge Main Line Association" event". Shortened to "GL5MLA" and generally shortened further still to "GL5" The event is to run scale trains (that would have at one time run on the proper railways), to a time table, at scale speeds for the particular train being hauled. The lamps on the locomotives should be in the correct location for the type of train being hauled too. Yes, they are all connected by a little chain over the scale hooks. Some people may bring a locomotive, while others may bring trucks or a coach, and the whole set is just put there for the loco owners or very responsible friends to pull arround the track. The little trucks are sometimes built from scratch or from a kit (that would probably cost in excess of £500) and the coaches also (which I think again would be in excess of £1000 to £1500). These people are great people with a common desire to meet up with friends and have a great time. I will be going to a place called Echillswood shortly, where they do a similar idea but in 7.25", gauge, not to a time table and because the models are larger, the visitors can ride on the coaches. Hi Artillerest, Thanks for the comment. The railway consists of three different gauges. 3.5" 5" and 7.25" Yes the models look very realistic, and are extremely well detailed. The models seen in the video are 5" gauge and the signals are actually scaled to 7.25" gauge. Cheers. They are 》》》 Masterpieces In "miniature"

Hi, there Union 310. I take it the Stephensons trials are some kind of competitive railway event ? I have not heard of it before.

@@masterpiecesinminiature8299 They are efficiency trials to see how efficient the loco is. The trials move each year around different clubs in the very north of England.

Aahh, we have probably the same thing further down the country. We call our version IMLEC This is an efficiency of each loco.... Given a known amount of coal and a dynomonitor carriage showing distance travelled and drawbar weight hauled. They are very interesting to attend.

Hi there, This is a model railway situated in a very small village called Gilling East. The Villiage is in an area called Rydale. On the map of England, you will find it to the left (west), and on a level with Scarborough, and above York. The Satnav or Google should locate the village. Cheers.
