Been waiting for this deck to show up and yes you missed alot. When Darius got destroyed Laquari should have been shuffled back. Also you really should have went into Herk when you had the 3 monsters. The only thing you couldnt protect it from was DAD and he didnt have 3 darks to summon him. 2 cards in hand means 2 negates. Also you could have set the bestiari and still tagged it out to make Gyzarus. But still a fun match to see.

You know, I was gonna say just to go for the record, whenever Secutor got his attack in, he does NOT tag out to a different GB. He stays on board while you pull out 2 extra GBs.

Tell cimoo he misplayed game one twice if he didn’t realize it later. Secutor doesn’t shuffle itself (it’s the only one that doesn’t) And Darius if he leaves the field shuffles the monster he summoned from the gy into the deck.

@@cooldeadpunk777 it would change the board state as he would have three monsters on field after the secutor play, and none on field after the Darius incident. Did those decide the outcome? We will never really know but they did change the paths he could go from there

"One Reaper on the Nightmare and one Sanwitch, I honestly do not know why these are in here, but they were for some reason." Prisma targets for Sangan and Spirit Reaper, which can actually be extremely nasty if you open Prisma + Premature/Reborn + Crush Card.

I guess they figured we've seen enough of DAD to know how it works by now, and since Glad Beasts won there really wasn't any need. It is a bit too bad though, when episodes cap out at 40 minutes it's pretty easy to tell who's likely to win game 2 unless a blowout happens for the side that lost the first round

History of Yu-Gi-Oh! episode wins Cimoooooooo: 22 MBT: 20 And Cimo takes the win, thus preventing MBT from tying the series. Gladiator Beast is in my top 10 favorite archetypes in the game, so kinda glad (no pun intended) to see it win.

Second misplay at 19:45. The Laqueri on defense goes back in the deck because Cimo lost Darius. Darius effect: You can target 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target, but its effect(s) is negated by this card, and it is shuffled into the Deck when this card leaves the field. Sorry I've played Glads for years. So it's quick for me to see misplays when it comes to them. Glads were my first really good deck. Always been in my top 5 archetypes throughout the years.

Very good match. A couple misplays in game 1 but none the less very good match. Glad to see my boys comes through once again. Can't wait to see when Synchros comes to the mix and see which decks go to Synchros and use Stardust, Red Dragon, Goyo, Magical Android, Thought Ruler. So many epic beginning Synchros for a new start of gameplay. Ah the memories. It would be epic when you showcase Lightsworns. Since they get Charge of the Light Brigade in Duelist Genesis.

For anyone who wants to know why Sanwitch and Reaper on the nightmare are on the list, they're both Prisma Targets for Sangan and Spirit Reaper, who can then be used with monster reborn (Or premature burial in the case of sangan) to stall/get a card draw or be used in a Crush Card Virus play to close out a game. They're not amazing lines to take, but when you have the room in your extra deck, why not include them.

The monster summoned by gb darius gets shuffled back into the deck if Darius leaves the field. So good play to only switch that monster to defence to attack with darius into mirror force 🤣👍

As someone who enjoys the series I don’t mind the normal misplays like I shouldn’t have done that or I should have activated that but when cards get misread and it changes the outcome of the duel I would recommend EDOpro where it won’t let you misuse the card but I understand why since you can’t use the cards in there pre errata effects

Secutor doesnt go in the deck. When Darius leaves the field, the target it summoned goes in the deck. The rest are just missplays ruling issues

@@1Tenno I do not think they will have pre-errata cards. My guess is every card will have the most up to date text on it. That will make it harder to recreate the historical accuracy of the series.

2 things wrong with game 1. First things first secutor doesn’t shuffle back. The correct play was to use secutor to get Darius and laquri and use Darius to bring back laquri but not making herc for the spell/trap negate was wrong. The second thing that was wrong was Switching the laquri that you brought back off Darius. That laquri would’ve been shuffled back and you would be left with nothing on the field when you should’ve been winning game 1. Take a deep breath and relax cimo. You don’t need to rush your turns.

When you attack with secutour it doesn't go back to the deck Against dadt return I would have made heraklinos rather than leaving the three glad beasts When dariouz dies laquari should have gone back to the deck When you were reading the torrential you forgot that the torrential had already been msted I played back in 2008 😏

This match was kind of a big yikes. Reading is hard though, so it's an accepted gamestate. Secutor works differently than you think - it stays on board. Darius also works differently than you think - the SS'd monster leaves the field if Darius leaves. Sanwitch and Reaper on the Nightmare are for Prisma to send Sangan and Spirit Reaper respectively. It also felt like Cimo overestimated how good Gyzarus is (not by much, but by a little) and severely underestimated how good Heraklinos is. There were a few times where sticking a Heraklinos would've basically been GG

People generally underestimate Heraklinos. Especially at that period it can win you the match on his own since all other meta decks need spell cards to combo off. Try getting rid of a 3.000 Beatstick with no spell and trap cards

Sanwich is probably to send sangan to grave with Prisma. Reaper on the nightmare sends spirit reaper via Prisma also, then you can monster reborn sangan/spirit reaper when nessesary. I guess you weren't using those extra deck slots for anything else, and it could come up as a 2 card combo.

Interesting, we can already see how Gyzarus differs from DAD in that for the first time the main boss monster(s) of the deck can be summoned from the extra deck with a relatively straightforward method. This means that we got to see more of Gyzarus in these two games than we saw Dark Armed Dragon in nearly a month of DAD format, because a boss monster that doesn't have to be hard-drawn changes everything.

Agreed. DAD is a beast, but it has to be drawn like you said, plus not to mention the condition for DAD's summon is not easy to achieve, even with cards like Grephyr.

Unfortunately, we saw too much Gyzarus. If Cimo didn't tunnel in on Gyzarus and realised he has Heraklinos, we would have seen why this deck was so strong.

@@Sad-Lesbian Quite possibly so, though 7 months after the fact my memory of the episode is kind of blurry; I'd have to rewatch it to see at which points summoning Heraklinos would have benefited him. But yeah, given Cimo's tendency to play conservatively, I could definitely see him preferring the "safer" option and lower investment needed for a Gyzarus even when Heraklinos could have been more useful.

24:02 MBT is 100% correct, Cimo actually would have to reveal that the face-down monster was a Glad Beast. We can obviously see that it was so it doesn't matter here, but this would be important to know for you duelists returning to locals. Funnily enough, this is actually the first example given in the Penalty Guidelines for what could create an irreparable game state.

@@Crackers2796 absolutely not. You still need to confirm that the monster you are sending back is indeed correct fusion material for what you are attempting to make. Or you could send back something illegal. Its not like the opponent can stop the procedure of you doing so (they can still negate the summon) but they NEED to know you're not cheating. Playing the cards face down is important, it gets around things like Bottomless and torrential tribute, so this is important to know, but you also need to know how it works so you don't cheat. And also this would be an irreparable gamestate if he did it like this because he shuffled the deck, and the opponent did not know what was face down.

Honestly it just makes me feel like people were shit at Yugioh back then, these dad decks are literally 37 nothing cards and an unsearchable win con and the game plan seems to be hoping that you can live long enough while fucking around with fear monger and friends to top deck DAD and win off of one card.

@@Click3tyClick I have to say a lot of cards that could've been good in this format were overlooked. I know Magic Jammer was looked down upon inearlier times of Yugioh but if you need three DArks in Grave, sometimes negatinvg a Spell Card can help you getthere, especially when the alternative is sacrificing half your Life POints and your opponent does the exact same thing in response and their Spell Card STILL GOES OFF.

Watch the Cross banlist cup if you want to see how good DAD return really is. I think your mistake is that you assume Cimo and MBT are the standard and are competent duelists. But they can't play any combo decks properly. They might be good in slow set and pass formats but are lost when they have to polit decks that require you to think about how to play your cards and sequence them properly

@@ShikanRaider Not only that, MBT only saw a single DAD in two games, and it was at one of the few times when he couldn't use it. There's literally only an 11 percent chance of that. In other words, 90 percent of the time this plays out better for Joseph.

Dude, chill. Misplays happen. Everyone has f*cked up card text before, even in actual competitive environments. This series is just for fun. It's easy to screw up effects like secutor when it's the only card in the archetype that doesn't work like the rest. Plus with Darius, he would have just switched it to defense instead of laquari, and the outcome would have been the exact same.

The whole point of having prisma and test tiger is to deal with any monsters plus heavy to deal with heavy backrow which people who played solemn back there so set like that. Also the mst can draw out there mst and you can try to snipe their solemn at the end of their turn. Allowing for turn 2 dominance

I would also not set MST because I had Heavy storm and if he has a judgement that would be finr since the cost is half of the LP ! And GB is pretty offensive. But thats my plan anyway ! I have some BAD history with Glad Beasts, mostly because the only time I played against them, I Forbidden Droplet'd the guy's board and he got up and was so mad that he threatened to beat the everliving s**t out of me. Great times!

Also Cimo have you considered adding a slide at the end of these videos with filling time to not make it obvious who will win. Since the episode was only 40 minutes long I knew whomever won game 1 more than likely won the match. Just a thought for future videos.

They generally can't play decks well that require you to think. The only decks they can properly are decks that barely rely on combos and do not force you to think about how to play. Set and pass formats like goat

@@1Tenno yeah, that is NOT a deck that can be picked up on the spot. Those combo decks with such insane swarming capabilities require months of practice to learn, and mastering them is pretty much impossible since there is ALWAYS a new combo to explore.

As someone who has played glads since this format until this very day, I was hyped for this episode. 7 minutes in to game one and there’s so many misplays it just hurts, come on guys. You can take the ten minutes before the match to read the cards, cause it would’ve changed the outcome quite a bit for game one.

You definitely have to reveal the facedown to confirm the fusion summon of a gladiator beast. Players have gotten gamelosses for not revealing before shuffle the targets back in again. Secutor stay on the field, when using its effect. Darius shuffles the summoned monster back into the deck again. Sanwich and Reaper is for Prisma to send for the reborn + crush card.

You have to remember at the end of the day it’s his channel. He’s the star of the show, so he gets to play the deck that makes the biggest splash for the episode.

Cimo downplaying the Heraklinos was killing me. Back in Glad Era, the goal was wipe the board with Gyzarus, then setup Heraklinos to control and win the board from there. Or in some games just drop Heraklinos early and win.

Oh and the comment about playing 3 proving grounds really "proves" that he's never even goldfished once with the deck he's playing. Since people are paying him to do this I think he could show a bit more commitment to his job.

sorry for double posting but i had a thought, i find it really fascinating that throughout all of duel monsters erra and GX erra they kept releasing fusions and the ONLY way they ever saw play was through metamorphosis. GX was especially known for fusions mainly from heroes but even the hero decks refused to play them because of how bad they were. we hit the end of GX and FINALLY, FINALLY! they release a fussion worth playing and going into the intentional way and the VERY NEXT SET the release synchros. don't get me wrong eventually they do start releasing fusions that are totally worth playing, but it's just so funny that a main mechanic of the original game was SO BAD it rarely saw play even in more cassual scenes, you gotta really mess up the mechanic to make that happen. i suppose my cassual scenes were a lot more competitively focused, but fusions were pretty universally seen as a joke, i guess if we want to see more of them we should head over to the history of jank :P

This was a really disappointing match to watch. I wish you guys kept up doing the third game in the case of a blow-out like this. How competitive the series has become is kind of preventing it from it being about showcasing historical yugioh decks/matches.

Here's a question; was DAD ever even good? We've heard MBT and Cimo talk about how broken this deck was for like, 4 weeks now, and DAD has not done shit in ANY of the games they played. This deck seems like absolute ass; it is a ton of bricks and then a boss monster which gets stopped by Solemn, TT, Bottomless, Phoenix Wing Blast, or just anything that isn't a set battle trap. Seriously, a card like Dark Grepher goes -1 to get 2 darks in the GY and a 1700 attack monster on the field. Congrats. I don't get how this was ever any good; there is no fucking way DAD would be anywhere close to the best deck if this format were played in depth today.

Priority meant DAD could get off a pop before any trap could get it except SJ But back in the day the top players were really awful, like that 2nd place deck looks like someone who's been playing for a month made it The Destiny Heroes with 2 Mali and only 2 revival cards for Disk seem like a noob trap

@@maskofthedragon I know how prio works, I basically only play GOAT format. The point is, it doesn't matter. You know what you do if DAD is a massive factor in the format? You DON'T play into DAD. Don't put a bunch of shit on the board that can get popped. Have a monster out and 1-2 set cards maximum. You can still chain those traps that aren't Solemn to DAD and destroy it. The DAD player may go +1 but, given how god awful their deck is, you could quickly make up that advantage, especially since DAD is basically the only win con of the deck.

Before wactching the match: considering Gladiator Beast is one of the most difficult decks to pilot in this games history. I can't see this going well for Cimooo. Edit: Huh wow even though it was definitely not played optimal, I guess Glads really were the best deck. Also Tele-DAD hype! If anyone thought these decks were insane, just you wait...

Not played optimal, try literally cheating in a way that would have been an irreparable game state and a game loss had there been a judge. They really need to just swallow their pride and play with a simulator.
