Been playing the sheet music for about two weeks now, and I just finished Elysium and am really beginning to get into the dynamics. I'm so impressed with how beautiful this arrangement is, the note arrangement is deceptively simple but at the same time allows for so much range of expression as a result. I can't help but feel a sense of awe as I play. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for sharing this masterpiece. It's really beautiful.
i have fallen in love with your piano skills. as a self taught pianist it warms my heart how you make the instrument come alive just by your hands. thank you for blessing our ears with your amazing music. please never stop, it is inspiring to learn from you.
How did you go by doing it? I played a bit as a kid but wasn't eager to keep practising back then. Biggest regret so far. I ve been wanting to take it up again as I can still read notes and got the old piano in my current home.
I'm sat here trying to study, my brain going a mile a minute whilst getting nothing done, then Katherine gives us this and I'm able to reorient myself, take a breath, and get back on track. Thank you Katherine.
You know this has to be one of the most weird or wonderful suprrises I've ever seen. This theme and this movie speak deeply to me about my troubled history with my father. The first time I watched it was with him and it became one of his favorites. He even looked like Russel Crowe back in the day so anything related to this movie became a bittersweet memory that has echoed throughout my life. I rarely listen to the soundtrack because it's just too much for me. However, due to recent events, last night I decided to listen to it, and I listen to so many renditions from different pianists. Even dusted off my old Casio and played it myself as best as I could. And I thought I was all cried out but as I sip my morning coffee I see this. It's stupid but to me it sounds like it was meant to be. This was sincerely beautiful. Your playing never ceases to astound me and your arrangements always grab me by the soul. I appreciate how you ended in a hopeful tone. Sorry about the long comment, but this was truly a moment for me.
You are the piano player tell all my kids to listen to. You played beautifully and was such immense emotion, touches my soul, and it touches the hearts of my children.
Gladiator is one of all time greatest movies. Hans zimmer music is a true piece of art. And your interpretation is a masterpiece of emotional music. Thank you so much for this !
There's no word to explain how much I admire you... I think you deserve all the love and respect people have for you here and real life. Music is a gift from God for humans and he gave you so much more !! Keep on sharing... please....It's so good... You're a blessing... Thank you, Jah ! Thank you Katherine for your hard and outstanding work !
Absolutely flawless as always! My favourite part was the way you seamlessly dispatched the petals at 6:27 When I seen them land on there I was like “oh no!” but you had it covered! Would love you to post some synthasia tutorials so us mere mortals could attempt to learn your amazing arrangements! Bravo as always 👏
A few months ago I thought about asking you to play this song, I loved the way you played it. I met you playing Titanic, then Interstellar, my favorite fiction film, but my request today is that you play the last samurai. Thank you for moving us with your songs.
The most beautiful 8 minutes of music. Truly perfect. To be able to play music that's transports you to a place where the world doesn't exist, where there are no problems around you. You are just living in that moment through the piano. What a gift you have. Thank you
I love how focused you are, play piano for over two decades...I really really like how beautiful your understanding of music is...I have this playing on repeat for a few days now...love it❤😊be proud of yourself❤
I cannot describe how incredibly beautiful this is. As a musician and fellow pianist, it leaves me without words of how talented you are. So many emotions can be felt in this song. I think for many who listen, it can only instill a sense of Now We Are Free, too.!!
remember every scene 24 years ago... what a great movie, what a great piece of music. Hans Zimmer a genious. Well done Katherine, well done, thank you for this :)
@@KatherineCordova a truly brilliant cover. I cannot wait to learn it from you, I didn't think I could hear a version of this classic and get those same feelings I did the first time I heard it. Really grateful!
@@KatherineCordova I ended up discovering your story listening to your music from 17 years ago. Wow. You didn't stop. You were good even then, but just wow. "Hide and Seek" is one of my favourite songs, and then your before and after for "The Scientist". There's so much depth in your interpretations. I've been playing now with some progress for the past 6 years, and I've started really focusing on playing daily this year. I really hope I'll get somewhere close to being able to play from my heart, the way you discovered you could over all these years. Thanks again for making this video. I'm so glad I clicked it and found your channel!
@@AdrianMark Thank you Adrian, I've come a long way from those first videos! If you find piano as rewarding as I do, I'm sure you'll get there. Gladiator Sheet Music: www.musicnotes.com/l/RLtKF
@@KatherineCordova Got it. Just spent the evening playing the first half of Elysium. I've got a way to go to learn the rest, but I've read the notes a few times now and I can't tell you what a delight it is, your interpretation sounds so good and thankfully, I think I can handle the arrangement. Also watched your 100k video where you mentioned you didn't know how to read and write music, well, I'm glad you took the time to figure it out! Thank you again! Can't wait to get good at this one, and I'll be sure to tell everyone where I learned it!
GLADIATOR... EXPRESSIVO E INESQUECÍVEL. PARABENIZO A JOVEM PELO SEU TALENTO E HABILIDADE COM AS MÃOS. PERFORMANCE DE PROFISSIONAL. SUCESSO E FORTE ABRAÇO. DEUS A ABENÇOE GRANDEMENTE. 🙏💕🤗
I listen to you play piano all day while I work Literally all day, everyday......and 2 days out of the week I work 12 hour shifts 😊 I never grow tired of listening to you play piano. You are amazing. Thank you for doing what you do
Good morning Katherine. I'm in love with the movie Gladiator and I went to watch it just because I knew the soundtrack. The version you made for piano was beautiful. Your talent enchants us and touches our soul. ❤️🔥 Thank you for giving us this affection. congratulations. 👏👏👏👏👏Good sunday!!🙏
Die Tempie bei diesem Arrangements ist hervorragend. Ich erkenne am "Widerhall " sofort das Stück. Eine vom Tempo geprägte Version. Einfach wunderbar. Diese Musik hat inspirierend auf so viele Musiker und Instrumentalisten einen göttlichen Einfluss ausgeübt. Das haut mich um!!! Halleluja. 😊❤❤❤😂
When I listen to your performances part of me hopes/dreams Hans Zimmer is listening and like me he has a huge smile on his face.................your playing is beautiful....................I play also and I come to your channel to hear perfection.................thankyou
There are much better choices than nord for key action lol, Nord are very expensive stage pianos, you are paying mainly for the sounds not the action, the Nord grand has the best action but even that is just borrowed from kawai es920, which is half the price and just as good really.
This arrangement is not sad as the original, I felt warm in melodies instead. May be because of your lovely appearance this time lead me to that feeling.
I watched and listened to Now We Are Free for the first time in March and I already feel like this masterpiece has been with me my entire life. Thank you for doing this cover❤!
Katheryn Cordova is amazing, not only for this arrangement but for all her interpretations. I specially love these 3 songs (they have lyrics). The second one makes me feel a profound respect for the character of General Maximo Meridio. It was a great among the greater movies.
Hello Katherine, I've been listening to your videos for a long time and I think you just play great and have a very good talent for playing the piano. I would be happy if you play more songs.
Beautiful rendition...and if you haven't seen this movie, you seriously need to watch it. It's one of the best interpretations of roman history (though fictionalized in a lot of aspects), but it shows the fact that there were still good people...even back then. I can't recall who Maximus was modeled after, though it was one of the generals in the Roman army.
I love your unique build up of dynamics, and your own flare to it, but you knew exactly when and which note that takes the breathe away. As an average skilled pianist, I'm always in search for covers that capture and channel not just the melody but the whole context. There's a story to each sonnet or phrase you know, when you catch people with a good hook in the first part they're minds are already creating a picture to accompany the mood the music creates, it's a musician's responsibility to create tension and give that imagine resolve with a good drop, and you nailed it! A lot of piano cover channels misses that. I don't know maybe transcending from eternalising beautiful music is actually not thing, and there's just a few of us. Really happy to see this cover today. This is the best Gladiator score cover on the internet, Katherine! Thank you!
Thank you Jackson, I’m glad you think so. A lot of thought behind capturing how a song feels and translating it to a piano solo that also is pleasing to hear.
This really is the most beautiful Gladiator piano score on the net. The dynamics, and the emotions they evoke...breathtaking. I hate to say it but even Patrik's version can't hold a candle to the feelings this one brings.
641 / 5.000 Dear Katherine, with this piece you have proven once again that you are incredibly talented. I love the soundtrack of Gladiator and it really brings tears to my eyes. This touches me deeply, thank you very much for this great work. The visual implementation is also beautiful as always. I can only repeat myself, thank you very much. I am looking forward to trying to play it again when the sheet music comes out. You are the best, I hope your husband doesn't mind if I send you a kiss for it 😘But he also gets a big thank you for the special effects with the rose petals 😀
I loved this music back when I first saw Gladiator, had the CD of the soundtrack. I haven't listened to this in a very long time. Your rendition is beautiful, thank you for sharing and for breathing new life into this piece!
One of my favorite songs, Katherine you aced this song. Bravo! Beautifully played with amazing emotion to bring a happy tear. Thank you for making my day...
