I almost thought that Vin Diesel was going to smash through the colosseum doors with his V8 Mustang and drift around the gladiators with a sideways pistol aimed at the emperor.

Weirdly enough, as soon as the gladiator riding the CGI rhino showed up, I started to sign out. But when the rap music started I signed out entirely.

It would be so hard to make a sequel to the gladiator, One of the best movies ever made. There is no way that talentless Hollywood who hasn’t made anything worth watching in the past 5 years can pull this off. That lack of talent is clearly seen in the trailer.

1st film gave us Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard, this sounds like they just didn't bother and let AI take over

My favorite part of the movie was when the gladiator used the N word and then Denzel says “you ain’t dark enough to use that brotha!” Then they begin rap battling at the colosseum. The slave gets scared and pukes mom’s gyro before rapping about how he knows Denzel’s gonna diss him on how he’s a slave. The gladiator wins but not before Denzel says that he will get him his pretty, and his little dog too. Zzz (played by vin diesel) shows up flying down from a parachuted chariot and brings out a machine gun crossbow. he claims he is robbing Denzel. He looks at the gladiator and drops to his knees, he claims that he is family, and that he would do anything for family. He then says a meteorite will randomly hit the gladiator in the future. A rocky montage goes on where Zzz invents rocket science and builds a rocket out of wood and wine barrels. He says that he loves the gladiator, and says he wishes that he could marry a man, but the evil dictator trumpsitanus has forbidden gay marriages. They both cry and kiss each other as he slowly goes into the rocket. The gladiator reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ring and a note, the note says “marry me?” With a box to check yes or no. The gladiator in tears screams yes. Zzz cry’s and says “for family” the rocket slowly takes off as sad music plays and the gladiator gets on his knees with his arms in the air crying. Before the gladiator escapes he’s approached by a man named ethanius huntius who pulls up in his buggatious cor’vettious horse wagon and claims that Denzel is an evolved chimp from a future world of highly intelligent apes who transplanted his brain into a human in order to be a human and go back in time to meet the original “Caesar” a vine boom happens as ethanius (played by Tom cruise) stares at the camera before running into the distance screaming. The gladiator scoffs and questions reality as the earth slowly trembles behind him. He looks above and sees large ufos blocking the sun before a close up shot at the gladiator as he says “now…. I must really fight for my freedom…. Our…. Freedom) Then the title card happens. Followed by a notice that this film is based on actual historical events. Truly phenomenal movie

I think the trailer is trying too hard. Showing too much and the music too. Less is more. The first movie was an epic. The trailer should have been more dramatic and less action movie-ie

Ridley Scott hit a magic note with 2000's 'Gladiator'. He's been trying to step in the same river twice ever since, to no avail. Apparently he's become so desperate to recapture the magic that he's decided to say 'screw it' and attempt a direct sequel to a story where literally all but 5 named characters died. 🤣
