There are plenty of unique stays that you can find in New Zealand, and this is definitely one of them! I went on a solo trip to Tirau, New Zealand, and went on the very famous Hobbiton Movie Set tour, where both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbiton movie series were filmed! Luckily, after browsing Airbnb for some accommodation options, I stumbled across this unique stay called the Hobbit Hole, which was only 20mins away from the Hobbiton movie set.
It was such a unique and cool experience to stay at the Hobbit Hole and experience glamping - the Hobbit way. What’s even more cool is the story behind this Hobbit Hole, which was built back in 2017 from RECYCLED materials! The person who owns this place follows a “minimalist” and sustainable lifestyle by growing her own food organically, and wanted to share her lifestyle in the hopes to inspire and empower others.
