After being on the road for almost three weeks we knew our last night in Iceland needed to be special. Actually, I was looking for cheap hotels along the south shore so that we could explore as far as Vik and not have to drive back to Keflavik.
While searching on Google Maps I found this adorable place along the shoreline called Camp Boutique. It was $180/night for the family tent that slept all five of us. Luckily we had perfect weather too. The tent was heated, had carpets, the Nordic touches were out of an Ikea catalog, we had a coffee maker, table and chairs, eye masks, ear plugs, and plenty of hookups for our iPhones.
We loved exploring all of the property including the private black sand beach. The inside building had private bathrooms and showers, a full kitchen, place to eat, refrigerator and freezer, and a gourmet coffee maker. The staff was incredibly kind! We loved our entire stay and highly recommend this experience if you find yourself in South Iceland.
