If a dude standing 6’7 who claims to have big hands can’t grip the ball smoothly that should be a red flag for MLB. The ball is trash. Once again the origin of the problem is MLB itself.

I think he certainly has good points, and he knows his body well enough that I think he's onto something. I hope we don't see a huge increase injury, it's bad enough that we've lost one of the game's best. What I thought was really interesting was his decision to come out, considering he likely wouldn't have to worry about being suspended this year. I actually find it more commendable than Cole bumbling or other elite pitchers being silent. More than anything though I think he's definitely onto something when he said it should have been implemented in the off-season so people could adjust to it, when for the past however many years MLB and hitters didn't care or say anything. Overall I think Glas will have a lot of haters, but I think he makes a lot of solid points. MLB is the biggest loser in all of this.

IMO, the rosin and sunscreen are not the problem. as a fan of MLB, i have no problem with any pitcher who uses the rosin/sunscreen combo to allow for a better grip on the ball. i would think the majority of hitters would support that because they all want the pitcher to have control of the baseball. MLB went about this problem all wrong. just like the PED/Steroid troubles from the 80's and the Sosa/McGwire era. once again MLB cannot police themselves and they are applying new rules mid-season that will probably have a negative impact on the pitcher. PATHETIC!

This rule change is really stupid

Reading the comments on videos and posts really makes it easy to see which people played/play baseball at a high level or just played right field until they were 11 and then quit to play lacrosse. "Sticky Stuff" is not only used by every professional pitcher, but by almost every college pitcher as well. The seams are barely raised on the ball so the ball flies farther but makes it difficult to grip no matter how big someone's hands are (putting EVERY pitcher at a disadvantage). Gripping the ball harder puts a HUGE strain on the pitcher's UCL as well as his forearm muscles. Pitchers AND hitters in the MLB put in hours of time and effort to study and create a plan to face specific players and by changing the rule mid-season it is going to make the MLB that much more boring and unexciting. It bogles my mind how people who claim they are "huge baseball fans" do not even understand what goes into the game they watch on their couch while they stuff their face with Doritos and brag about how their 12 year old son is going pro in the future.
