I think dropping the giant axe on the glass ball would be much more epic, and destructive, as the axe weights much more. Otherwise, the glass will only lose some layers, it won't be decimated.

That would imply that you wouldn’t have to even think about flies. That is shorter than one synapse of the brain, let alone to process your sensory experience which would take even longer relatively than to produce one neurological synapse.
