This is a typical glass block basement window installation video with pointers. A step by step process. The window is a custom built 32x14 inch Pittsburgh Corning Glass Block window in the Decora Pattern. This is a 100 % American Made assembly. Assemble following manufactures recommendation with mortar cement. NOT CAULKING !.

were did u find the 1 inch x 8 inch x 16 inch cinder block caps , i havent been able to find them, thanks

The prior homeowner replaced a bathroom window with glass block, but didn’t install a vent. When I bought the house, I learned that this is a code violation and I have to fix it. Is it possible to remove several blocks and add a vent, or do I have to remove the whole window and start from scratch? Thanks!

what are the two 1 inch bricks you lay first? I cannot find them at my home improvement store online, I have a brick wall basement NOT POURED so I need to do this just like you did in the video. Just need to know what they are called are they caps for a brick wall?. I ordered the wrong size window 12" I need the 14" as you have in the video. I am facing a 25% restocking fee to return the window. Can I just double up the 1" flat bricks as you use in this video and a little extra mortar to fill in any gaps? I gotta make this work. Could you please tell me the exact dimension of those bricks, and how wide are they how long? My window is only 4 inches thick. The only thing I can find close is, 2 x 8 x16 inches. Thank you

what type of mortar is used ?

Do you have to have that 1 inch cinderblock to put the glass window on? Or does it depend on the current window ?

You guys should be replacing that Federal Pacific Stab Lok electrical panel next. Sorry...the home inspector can't just turn it off.

Can I use quikrete type S mortar mix to install my glass block basement window?

I always cringe when I see demolition work being done without safety glasses. My dad lost an eye to foolishness like that.
