Lyrics:
I was born the son of the god of gods
Eaten alive
Saved in my father's thigh
Twice born to a mortal mother
Shot down with lightning bolts
With open eyes in the face of glory
Torn apart
Limb from limb
Payback is a mother fucker
Underneath the spell
Of the semi-precious
Holy god of ceremonial madness
Cast into the charm
Of the halfway diety
Holy god of divine ecstasy
Where is the new wine?
Dying on the vine
I want roses in my garden
I came back to the motherland
To prove I am who they say I am
The moonstruck women
And elder statesmen
Await
Deep in the woods
Where you say you came from

Just discovered this band recently and am very impressed, reminds me of how impressed I was when I first heard the "Wolves Within" album by After the Burial (IMO, one of the most impressive albums ever from a band most people would write off)

@@PaniekzaaiertjeBought this album at Tech-fest 2012, was definitely great but I have to say Rareform was what got me hooked on ATB back in 2008 and the fact that Berzerker got included in SR3 soundtrack and the fact they quickly toured England by 2010 tells me they were not at all dismissed. Go check "Whiteout" then "Chimerical" by Auras for some really sadly underrated tunes. They've been absolutely amazing since their first release and some insanely technical drums (Nathan also wrote for Intervals later) top it all off.

For real. Any idea what the lyrics suggest?

@@divinasi0n could be a change of heart, tired of something and want beauty instead (roses). Wine is symbolic for blood too, so tired of war, want beauty instead. When I listen to it, it reminds me of frustration and wanting to let go and move on to something new.

@Croissant Lover Cool. Of course, I only saw your reply just now. Thanks RU-vid! 😅 At least this site's good for something; every so often I'll get this band as a recommendation. Honesty, that chorus is the only bit I stay for. Not sure why so many bands hit the bullseye once then seem to lose their sight

For me it’s the part that ruins the song. Everything before and after is so good and then they bring us such a simpy middle🥺
