Glass Dip Pens Are they worth it?

I have a couple of these ( I use them for drawing). The fact that they are so easy to clean, is a big plus. Also, they look very nice on my writing desk.

using glass pen is nightmare for those with sweaty palm & finger. and there's no spring when writing with glass which makes it feel more like using a ballpoint. i'd rather use a quill pen.

Absolutely agree that it is fun to use glass dip pens. Are there any inks whose viscosity is more favorable for use in the glass pens ? I do pretty well with Noodlers black but don't know if that is optimum.

I use the Ranga dip pen for ink samples... it has a #5 nib its handmade... made of ebonite... and I can write about a page and a half with one dip... the color of the glass pens are awesome!!

In the museum/home of one of our territorial governors (Oklahoma) there is a letter on display, written by the governor's wife. It was clearly written with a glass pen because every few words (4 or 5) the ink fades and then the next word is refreshed, and so on throughout the letter. She probably had a glass pen on her writing desk for correspondence. (A steel nib would give more words.)

Could a glass dip pen work on cold press watercolour paper for signing art or does the paper need to be smooth like hot press paper?

I'd be afraid to break the tip from pressing too hard but they are a cool concept.

My daughter is going off to college in a couple months and I've considered buying a glass dip pen and a variety of ink samples in order to write to her. I've just recently gotten into fountain pens and enjoy using cartridges because I don't want to commit to an entire bottle of ink.

Which ink is better to use, acrylic or aquarel one? I got glass pen but I'm not sure which ink should i buy for it

Will a glass pen work for a person who writes all the time on basic notebook paper?

Tried one from Barnes and noble and the pen just didn't work. I use dip and fountain pens on a regular basis to.

How do you store them? Frankly my desk is really small and real estate scarce. Anything would be really useful. I don't think they'll fit in a regular pen case.

Late to the game on this one, but Thanks for the info on the glass pens. They are beautiful, but seem like one wouldn't have as much control. Not sure where Calvin and Hobbes is coming from though. Definitely looks more like Rick and Morty meets BTTF in a customized DeLorean. Calvin is a boy, but he's blond, and Hobbes is a TIGER. I'm in an alternate universe I guess?

pssst.... i realize this video is, at this point, just over a year old. but $28USD at the current exchange rate is $36CAD so with the Toronto pen costing $27CAD, you're saving 9 bucks... or was that "$28" quote already converted to CAD?

I bought a glass pen years ago because I thought it was pretty, not realizing it was a dip pen! I'm also in Canada (Ontario) - do you order inks online; where do you prefer to order from? And is there a type of ink I should be looking for? I'm so new to all of this. 🙈 Thanks! :)

Hi, I am mainly checking or verifying whether you actually do read all your comments as claimed or if that was just BS to tell the viewers. To be fair I also do have a genuine question, do you prefer Black or Blue ink be it for a legal document or even just a letter to a friend (something I know not practised much these days which is a shame) anyway back to the matter of great significance which coloured ink Black or Blue?
