Ever since we studied this beautiful variety of corn last autumn, we have been wanting to grow it ourselves. This video shows our growing journey and we reveal the results. Amazing!
what a fascinating informative video. The colours look fantastic. Amazing to see those few ''normal'' yellow kernals surrounded by the riot of colours.
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 i have harvested 8 so far. Think i did about 20. Its lovely. Hope ye are all well. We are doing ok. Banked down a lot of the allotment, some onions and garlic in. Managed to get some more onion sets yesterday. I really loved the popcorn story and the results.
@@LorraineG123 nothing like home grown sweetcorn 💛 or homegrown anything really haha! Thanks for the reminder for onions and garlic! Must get those in! The weather has definitely turned here and it's chilly all the time now.
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 oh for sure nothing like homegrown. Some people say its not worth it, i don't agree, the effort is definitely worth it. I found it hard to source the onions and garlic but got them in The Range. Suns out here. Stay safe guys. God bless
@@LorraineG123 I'm sorry, I didn't see your reply for some reason. I'm glad you managed to find some onions and garlic in the end. We aren't out shopping aside from groceries so I'll try online - wish me luck! Xx
I like how the packets for you guys in the uk say sweet corn glass gems, but in the usa we don't consider them as sweet corn. Just something i find fascinating.
@@IAmHumanJake we have focused on growing sweetcorn for store rather than the hard corn. If we were to give a bed up for experimentation again, I expect it would be a different grain next time. That's not to say we'd never grow glass gem again but haven't so far
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 understandable, I'm in the process next growing season to breed orange corn veritys. I've seen online lots of dark reds but not much orange. So my plan for the next few years to breed it.
I'm going to try gardening this corn this year. I'm in the western desert and native to Midwest (michigan) so we will have to see how it does as i learn this new territory. Your soil and weather reminds me a lot of the Midwest where I could put a seed down, and it would go wild. Here, not so much. Lol, but anyways, thanks, I love the revealing. It's so beautiful!
