Awesome! Sorry but I ignored your advice on not trying this without any prior experience and managed to replace the screen on a 40mm SE! Really well explained and easy to follow! I did not manage to get the digitizer off as cleanly as you and the corner broke and it was a bit scratched but it still works! Took a while for the screen to show when first tried to switch it back on after leaving it a while I tried again and it came on! Just wish Apple made it easier to find components!
Nope, I used a hot water bottle. I used tape in much the same way and strapped it to the hot water bottle. Then worked the wire under. This is the hardest part of it all. Had to re fill the bottle to maintain heat as when it cools the wire just pulls the watch off the tape.
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
Awesome job! Thanks!!! I have a question for you? I have 2 series 5 Apple Watches both are 44mm and GPS only. One is cloud locked but it’s screen is new can I remove it and use it to replace the other screen which is very scratched?
How much do you charge for a course? I enjoy repairing electronics in my spare time, I’ve been in this field for more than 20 years, but I’ve never attempted a watch. I would kind of assume it’s along the same lines as repairing an iPhone or iPad... but you know what they say about people that assume things... so yea. If you have like an online crash course it’d be cool
Do you know there are alignment jigs available? I've just ordered a multi-template one to do S1-S6 😊. Without these videos I would not be as successful at separating the glass from the LCD. There are hundreds of others but yours are by far the best on RU-vid. I learnt to do it because of your detailed commentary during the videos. Thank you very much.
Looking to repair my water damaged series 5 after it died from its first time in the pool ! Struggling to get anything in between the screen around the edges and the metal without thinking i'm going to crack it with too much force ! Can you give me an example of the plastic i can use ? Also, does it need to heated up to assist or should it come away without any heat? Cheers
I use no heat when getting them up. A perfect piece of plastic is the OCA protector that is removed at the final stages of any refurb job. A good pry tool would be this one. www.mobilesentrix.com/qianli-curved-screen-pry-tool-0-1mm
@@FIXDPHONES Thanks. I have the metal pry tool from an ifixit kit - should that work? Just cautious about breaking the screen when trying to get it up. Maybe I need to be a bit more forceful but it doesn’t seem to budge and I struggled to get it between the glass and case, any tricks ?
if you remove the copper sticker and leave the 3 connector ? the iwatch will not work? i mean the screen. please can you help me? i ruined the digitizer and i have to find one digitizer to put it on but the problem is that i connect the diplay with the connectors and doesnt work
What do you mean by film? If you are referring to a layer under the glass it might be part of the digitizer (touch screen) I have videos showing how to do that as well.
I live in Pennsylvania. I have an apple 5 series watch with the glass cracked. I leave for overseas on January 29, if I mail the watch to you, could you repair my watch and have it back to me before I leave for my trip?
Good morning, I have tried several times to separate the glass from the lcd of the Apple Watch but once separated the screen remains black, I have the machine to separate, but I have done it several times and every time it fails me and they do not work again What am I doing wrong?
Hi I have Apple Watch series 4 lcd the 3 connector where the cable attached one of them ripped off I want to know how you would charge to get it repaired pleased
HI sir. the reason to watch this video was.. I recently bought AW5-40. it was with broken screen. When I tested it was working perfectly fine. on the same day I thought to have it’s glass replaced. Glass was replaced and i tested. since it has very low battery, I could only check the crow scroll, and touch with menus going up and down of language selection screen. When I restarted it.. it is now stuck on bootloop wiht Apple Logo on screen. I've forcely restarted it by pressing both power + crown button many times.. with and without charger attached. I've also drained its batter fully and I got wire zig sag screen with red arrow.. I connected charger again but still i'm getting the same boot loop .. it starts , logo appears and it shuts down and again starts.. logo appears and shuts down.. Can you please tell me what could be the issue? "Screen, or anything else damaged.? Note.. it worked after screen replacement but before restart.
Hey I can only find listings for 0.08mm gold plated wire. Would that thickness be okay? I know you recommend 0.06mm but I'm in Canada and can only get 0.08mm gold plated within a few days rather than a week plus.
No you don't. Removing back glass without a laser machine is a very tedious process though. If you remove the back glass you can buy a large hole glass replacement. This is a better alternative imo
Hi there.could you tell as were you get or what are the best force touch sensor with good adhesive for series 4/5?i found for series 3 very good sensor but not for series4/5
I did everything exactly the same way as you did, and my screen looks so epic now, no bubbles or anything. But, it’s black, meaning, it doesn’t work now and I don’t know why. I have not damaged any circuit or surface nor in the watch or on the lcd screen, yet, it’s not working. Any idea where I messed up? Please give me advise. I know it’s can’t be fixed now, so I have to buy a new lcd screen that cost over £200, but I just want to know where did I possible made the mistake.
If you did the repair correctly then it might be that you damaged the flex cables by pulling them and it might just need a new flex cable soldered to the logic board
John Anthony I did the same. I emailed a couple months ago with photos of Apple Watch screen. A perfect crack around the boarder. Looking to replace. If you maybe missed it let me know. I’ve had little luck finding anyone to do the repair.
Hugh Jo If you can’t remember the email to your own Apple account, there are ways to get it, if it is truly your email. I’m certain that there is a tiny demographic with your concern, but the demographic that will use that advice to steal and resell other people’s devices is much much larger. Surely you can appreciate the concern.
Way to much tbh go on Amazon and get the repair kit for 26$ and go to a local tech shop and they’ll do it way cheaper than this dude who charges almost 200$ for something someone can do for 50$ at almost any repair shop good luck.
