I just received this glass mat and it is wonderful. The quality and craftsman ship is terrific. It arrived packed with great care. I love that it's white-- all our colors contrast perfectly and it looks so pretty on my crafting workspace. I had another mat (black one) which I enjoyed using. I did scratch my black glass mat while using a craft knife (I was testing what the mfg said it would do). I don't use a craft knife very often so I will take your advice and use a self-healing mat on top of this gorgeous white glass board. What sold me was the magnetic feature because I enjoy stenciling and blending backgrounds -- so the magnetic feature will come in handy. Yes, this board is "pricey" but I don't care because this board is made in the USA and American-made products costs more because we pay our employees and suppliers market prices. When I have a choice I buy American. Use Desiree's coupon ... you'll get a good price. Well, that's my two cents worth. Thank you for sharing your two videos giving us your opinions on this handy tool.

Thanks! I do believe in time it will scratch as well. I am sure I will do something to make that scratch. I am enjoying this mat very much!

Great video Desiree ! Like yourself, I don't use a cutting knife alot, but there is the odd time that I need to. I completely understand that you can't guarantee the mat will never scratch. So I went to the source & spoke with Tyler at glassboardstudio. He also couldn't guarantee it would never scratch but he did suggest that it might possibly last longer then a self healing mat. I believe I may just have to give this a try. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to answer my question Desiree 😁🤗

I had another brand of glass Matt years ago, specifically called a cutting mat. I never scratched it, however my blades seemed to dull much faster. I always blamed it on the glass.

Great video. I know you lightly it, but I want to be sure. If my light source is overhead, will I get glare, bulb reflections, etc when filming and working with this mat? That’s why I don’t like glass mats for my videos, etc.

I believe if your light is directly over you it will show the image of the light. Yes…. I will confirm that tonight and let ya know. I think though I already know the answer.
