i really picked up a pair of the starck design spectacles with the 360 degree hinge, which have worked out really well for me. i do agree that hinges contribute a lot to every day fit and comfort and shouldn't be neglected!
It depends on the model. Most have good hinges where possible. The wood and horn pieces have an integrated spring which is helpful since there is no play in the material. Some of the more jewellery inspired models have very simple hinges but that is necessary for the aesthetic.
I’m hoping you ll help.. my screw on my metal framed glasses keeps coming out left side so lens falls out it drives me mental! I ve got Specsavers to screw it back many times but I’m buying plastic frames this week cos it’s beyond a joke! I took old glasses on hols in sept good job I did cos lo and behold it came out again!
A bit of locktight on the screw can help, typically used in automotive it prevents the screw from working loose but doesn't prevent you from unscrewing it in the future
The real question is how does one REPAIR cheap sting hinges! MAKE S VIDEO ON EYEWEAR REPAIR! IVE HAD TOO MANH CHEAP RAY BANS HINGE FAILURES………yes it’s my fault I bought them . But I worked for luxxoictica back in 2006
