You didn't slide on down into the ditch and tip over, so good job. Like you said you're down to the wire on those stalks. You get a big wind and you're screwed. So plow on through. Thanks for the video. 🇺🇸

you should have kept 1 or 2 rows away from the ditch. you are able to go the other way to cut it. de-muck the ditch! great job, be careful out there.

Sounds like your in the same situation as us here in southern Michigan. We have been harvesting in mud all fall the last 2 weeks have been very bad . We run 36 inch tracks on the quadtracs and combines. The quadtracs are great in mud as long as you keep moving and don't spin excessively once you fill the lugs with mud it's all over. I harvested beans today in standing water in a low spot the head was making a wave in front of it . I wish it would freeze to firm the ground but then we'd probably get snow . We are about halfway through beans and 75 percent done with corn. Great video keep up the good work!

dang wash out got you it looks like nothing bad to what equipment you have truth is i like watching the older equipment getting it done all i have seen for the older equipment as for tracks are steel tracks that said to road it from field to field you would have to change back to tires or trailer from field to field has the track market made a move to have rubber tracks for this older equipment that i have not seen

I sure hope you have a cable on that combine running from the front frame and not pulling on the rear axle I’m guessing you are. I’ve seen a few 16xx have rear axles pulled off of them

Would you consider rice tires or those titan Goodyear Optitrac. Maybe too expensive. That l2 Gleaner sure went through a lot of stuff though.

Don't be a hog. Leave a headland next to the ditch. Getting stuck and chasing a couple rows is a huge waste of time. Tell your dad to plant the whole ditch next time and you can harvest it with a rowboat.
@maxium4x4
@maxium4x4 2 года назад
Not sure why you plant right up to the ditch, I leave a 20' grass buffer so we can access the ditch to keep it maintained. Dad always fought wet ground but I tiled the muck every 40' and split problem areas to 20' I also dewater 40 acres with a pump. NW Ohio here and the corn is running 200+ bushels an acre, drainage pays off in wet seasons like this year. You all have fun, I am down to 50 acres to go to finish out the season and it is raining again........😁

north central/northwest Indiana It's been on n off rain all October. Record harvest pace in September, followed by a couple days rain, wait for it to dry out, harvest a day or two and then more rain.

Weight and traction color doesn't really matter but the little feller is dancing all over the field and getting picked
@larrymartin6544

Trimming around the edges just getting one row is wearing out the straw walkers and screen bushings, they're not designed to run empty. After dad plants go around the field with a 10 foot disc problem solved. My L2 had 30.32 rice tires with rear assist, would go where others didn't dare

We had a Massey 860 combine it was useless in mud. The hydrostat belt was beside the drive tire belt come off all the time in mud. Careful when you pull your combine out. You do not want to stretch the frame of the combine.

Some guys around here used to throw a set of tire chains on the steers to try and keep the tires rolling. Idea was that a rolling tire didn't drag as hard as a sliding tire

Those rubber tracks won't be that great with that type of ground. Tracks with cleats like off a Nodwell or Bombardier would be great for that type of ground situation. Only thing traveling down the road with that type of track.
@anthonybanda8192
@anthonybanda8192 2 года назад
We run rubber tracks in the same type of muck with no issues. The key is to not let the track lugs fill with mudd from spinning excessively. Our 36 inch tracks work great on our quadtracs and combines . It's really wet here in southern Michigan we have had 25 inches of rain since harvest started in September. We have been harvesting beans in standing water. The farms with tires aren't in the fields at all at least not the low muck ground . I agree with you about having decent lugs on tracks once they are about half worn they are useless. Take care!
@bombardier3qtrlbpsi
@bombardier3qtrlbpsi 2 года назад
@@anthonybanda8192 I pulled out alot of skid steers with tracks with my track machine. Just what I've seen even quad tracks in straight mud were not good. I'm not here to knock them.
@anthonybanda8192
@anthonybanda8192 2 года назад
@@bombardier3qtrlbpsi I understand totally. I've had ours in deep mud with no issues it all depends on the track type and lug size . The 36 inch camoplast tracks are great .
