This is the sweetest break up ever. Dave has some of the best character development, and he is such a nice guy who didn't get upset or angry with Blaine, and just wants him and Kurt to be happy together.
I don’t think you see his true intentions. He can’t get mad at Kurt for what Kurt has to help him in the past, as well as what he’s done to him. He’s looking out for them both but on the inside, he’s really devastated.
@@violetrose674 That would be great if a couple of episodes later she didn't act the complete opposite of mature just because Brittany started dating Sam.
Wait, Elliot Gilbert was pretty mature, especially that time Blaine went over to his house and yelled at him for a couple minutes cause he thought Kurt was cheating on him with Elliot, and he just stayed calm and talked Blaine down and gave them both great advice. Basically everything Elliot did
People say this couple shouldn’t have happened but I think it showed tremendous character development for Dave I love it, I’m glad klaine wound up together thought
Sami Mackay I will admit that after season 3 and this, I’d always said that if Dave was to come between Klaine that he should have been with Kurt and not Blaine.
yeah this happens in shameless too, there’s a couple that literally everyone hated but i felt like it was really worth it bc it functioned as a tool to develop the characters and show who the characters were outside of the “main” relationship that everyone liked
While it's not good that he cheated, it was kinda obvious from the beginning that his and Karofsky's relationship wasn't going to last. I think Karofsky wasn't mad, or at least no too mad about Blaine cheating on him cuz he knew their relationship wasn't going to last and that it wouldn't be long before Blaine and Kurt (Klaine) would get back together.
@@charlenerafferty3534 They both knew deep down this relationship was not going to last. And both did care for Kurt. But they should NEVER got together in the first place. But seeing Dave totally grow into a solid grown gay man was something to watch.
Even though this storyline was absolutely pointless and stupid, I love this scene. When I first saw this scene during the episode, it reminded me of what a great actor Max Adler really is
Breaking up Klaine for literally no reason at all was probably one of the stupidest things I’ve seen on TV. But at least we got Klaine shipping Sue out of it.
Okay tbh this breakup was the sweetest one ever like I hated Dave at first but he grew on me. He’s such a sweetie i just wanna hug him. Also Blaine is wearing the same colors he wore when he proposed to kurt my fucking klaine heart😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Livvys World Of Crazy I heard that’s actually what was originally supposed to happen but grant gustins filming schedule for the flash at the time conflicted with glee filming so he couldn’t
S: So I tell her "If you pair me with that idiot Brandon for our ConLaw presentation, one of us is gonna kill the other" and what does she do? She pairs me with Brandon. Pauses S: What? Blaine, spit it out. B: Spit what out? S: You've been distracted for like the past week and a half. I can't get you to say anything. B: I'm sorry, I just S: Did something happen between you and Princess at Rachel Berry's party? B (irritated): His name is- S: I *know* what his name is. I know his name, and his stupid face because I haven't been able to get it out of my head since he came back to Ohio. (Pauses) And I think that's your problem too. B: We just sang a duet together- it was Rachel's idea. It was just this stupid glee club thing. I don't even know why I did it. S: (Pauses) I love you Blaine, but you're a terrible liar. B: (says nothing) S: (grimaces, braces self leaning over counter) Just tell me this: who started it? You or him? B: (stays silent) S: (laughs bitterly, slaps counter) Seriously! I have made a *career* of not getting caught up enough to actually care or get serious, because I think I'm gonna get bored and cheat. Now, the one time I let my guard down? (laughs humorlessly) B: I'm sorry. S: (sighs) Just answer me this: did this mean anything? Did *we* mean anything? B: (hesitates) S: (sighs) You know what the funny thing is: this couple months is the longest anything's lasted for me. You are... about as far from my first as you can get, but you're the first one who meant something to me. Guess I'm not cut out for anything serious. B: Don't say that- S: Please. (breathes out). Go on. Go to your Fairy Princess; I know you want to. B: Sebastian, I- S: Go. (grins painfully) You know me- I'll be fine. I'll be in Brandon's pants for a pallet cleanser by tomorrow night, and i'm transferring back to NYU next fall. B: I'm really sorry. S: I know. Go get him, Killer. B: (turns to leave) S: Oh, and one more thing: tell Hummel to stop being an idiot and not let you go this time.
dave has the best character development i've ever seen in any show. at first, he's a major asshole, but he becomes such a sweet and compassionate guy. i love dave so much
@@that.music.addict I think that's why they made this scene (and made Dave and Blaine a thing at one point). I mean, I really liked his development before. Still, I was always scared that he would change back to a horrible person if something happened. Dave lost his lover to Kurt, of all people, and instead of getting angry, he even encouraged Blaine and supported him. So the bully Karofsky is gone, and we got Dave instead.
@@Seth_rs While it's not good that he did that; it was kinda obvious from the beginning that his and Karofsky's relationship wasn't going to last. Dave was a bit of a dick during earlier seasons. But he's developed and advanced and honestly, this shows he's become a caring character. He doesn't yell, he doesn't fight. He respects Blaines decision, and even though it hurts, he let's him go because Blaine and Kurt love eachother. That's what makes his character development one of the best.
if it wasnt for Dave then Kurt wouldnt have met Blaine and if Dave wasnt with Blaine then Dave wouldnt have convinced Blaine that he loves Kurt. So....I guess that had to happen???
What Dave jus did there is ever so nice of him to let Blaine go back to Kurt because it's a beautiful thing to miss your first love ❤️ and to go back to your first love ❤️
Well if you think about it, Kurt was actually both of their first loves. Except one just wound up pushing Kurt into the other's arms which is how Klaine wound up the meant-to-be couple. I'm REALLY HAPPY that even for a brief but priceless time this relationship happened. Blaine rescued Kurt's heart in a way Kurt REALLY wound up taking for granted. Dave needed to feel what that was like. How better than to experience a relationship with Blaine to see what Blaine did and was like to heal the pain that Dave caused, and in turn for Dave to be able to comprehend what real love and a stable sincere lover should feel like. He got to experience Blaine for himself. I hope it helped Dave heal even further from his past than even he could've thought. Dave loves and respects Kurt and Blaine and he understands their history deeply. I'm glad he matured so much as to release Blaine back to his true love as he did. Dave knows what that feels like to want him, want Kurt who in turn after being helped by Blaine helps Karofsky right back in high school. It breaks my heart when Dave see it's time to give him back and he's once again alone, but his nurtured personality gives me so much hope for his heart to find the one that's meant for him. To be honest, Blaine was the one in the relationship always stealing my heart more than Kurt who was sometimes a bit too selfish. Honestly I actually wish Blaine had wound up with Dave, but I also get the concept of solid true love couples that the show has already established and wanted to preserve in "Klaine." I love that concept, I just kinda wished Kurt was a little more heartfelt like Dave at this point to be honest. Kurt kinda really disappointed me in the relationship. I didn't like how he kept taking Blaine for granted. I would personally love to find somebody for me that's either a Dave or a Blaine... only straight. 💝💝💝
Karofsky had more screen chemistry with Kurt rather than Blaine... these moron writers forgot that... of course they never will hook up but at least they could share a tender moment as they did in the past. This is the reason why Glee failed in the last seasons.. Blaine was a good character but they never had a great storyline as Kurt, Artie, Sam or my Finn... Blaine received a lot of attention and the writers forgot other male important characters.
Fernanda Dewan Tatum I totally agree, I’d always felt that the writers should have explored more of the possibility of Kurt and Dave (even though imma die-hard Klaine fan) and yes, if there’s one thing the writers did well ignoring that mistake it was ignoring and wasting other characters.
Yes! Dave and Kurt should have been the ones in a relationship. Blainofsky had no real chemistry there was no moment when I doubted that Klaine would get back together. Still, I'm sad for Dave. He and Blaine have been dating for months (were they living together?) Dave seems like a really nice guy and he deserved better than to just be the rebound.
Fernanda Blunt Krasinski I totally agree, too.Kurt and Dave went through something deeper than Blaine and Dave would ever would. The hate and then the understanding that Kurt showed Dave later. The love-hate that Dave felt for Kurt. And then gratitude for Kurt for his kindness later, now this is the relationship that could have developed into something. But in a way Dave having been in love with Kurt maybe is the only one who can understand why Blaine can't stop loving Kurt.
@@juneyamagata7578 that's right Dave did have feelings for Kurt I know the reason why Blaine can't stop loving Kurt because Kurt not just any guy it's because Kurt one of kind he is special and different
I liked where Dave's character went but I thought it was SO awkward when he was with Blaine. And he's such a sweetheart Lol I would have expected him to bash poor Blaine after he broke up with him.
A lot of comments I see about his character is how he has been the greatest development a character could've been in Glee, while others are about "you cannot change the fact that in the past he bullied and threatened to kill Kurt". But to be fair, he really is a nice person to begin with. Remember the scene where their families had a confrontation at the principal's office? Dave's dad told them that he used to be a really nice kid until he began acting up and acting strange. So what we're seeing now is the real him. Not confused and has already accepted his self.
Dave is great guy now, letting him go back to his real true love. I love how Blaine kissed Dave on the cheek showing that he still cares about Dave. ❤️👍🏻💋🤞🏻
Damn Dave Karofsky was just too hot for Blaine. WOOF. I love that Max Adler is doing some cool stuff now even producing a Netflix project! Can't wait. He was recently in The Body on Hulu and the new Ryan Murphy show 911- all in uniform. Max loves to be in uniform ;)
This relationship was a surprise for me. I felt like if they put Dave with someone it would have been Kurt because they had more of a history and Dave really liked Kurt. It's weird that Dave would go for Kurt's ex and not Kurt. It was good that they didn't make it this whole dramatic, "You didn't date me so now I am taking your lover" plot. It was actually really cute, but you could tell it wasn't a long-term thing so I felt bad for Dave the whole time :< It sucks to be with someone who is into someone else.
The fact that Blaine and Dave have nothing in common is nicely illustrated as the scene begins with Dave coming in ragging about sports. Blaine and Kurt's one time tourmentor's relationship mostly takes place off camera and the audience knows it is but a plot devise to keep the true lovers apart until that one great day...
The fact that he had kissed Kurt at the party then the next day went out with Dave wearing the bow tie he wore when he proposed to Kurt in and in clothes the same colour as the suit he proposed in, he was totally thinking about Kurt. In the next scene with Walter and Kurt, even Walter comments with “nice bow tie”
Dave became one of the best characters this show ever had.even though at the first he was one of the worst but he became understanding of kurt and blaine
This relationshit was such a weird storyline by the writers. It's another example of how the writers really didn't care about their characters and the show, specifically in the later seasons. If they wanted to do a Dave storyline, they should've had him with Kurt, as that story-wise, would have made sense with their character development and growth. Having Dave with Blaine came so far out of left field and was almost a slap in the face to Kurt, with Blaine knowing everything about Dave's development with Kurt. This type of thing happened with other characters, like Quinn and Mercedes, Artie and Tina, not to mention Rachel getting a bulk of the story, when in all honesty, her character didn't deserve the amount of praise she got, when on several occasions, other characters were the ones who deserved more credit that her... Notice they win regionals and Nationals when Rachel and Finn aren't the center piece of the performances.
Dave was such a sweetheart in the end, his character development was everything I wish for. This relationship shouldn’t have never happened, however, it help him to evolve. At least he had something with someone like Blaine.
Blaine cheating on everyone he dates is so crazy to me all this time later. I don’t fully recall if he ever developed past that. My memory is telling Kurt and Dave are better off without him.
He didn’t even get mad at him for cheating… Dave knows Kurt is Blaine’s person and that it’s nothing he did wrong. I’m so proud of Dave and his growth. Even if Dave forgives Blaine I don’t though. If they can cheat with you they can cheat on you, and Vice versa here. Come on man… esp when he made such a big deal over Kurt texting that one guy but then tried to excuse the first time by “I needed you and you weren’t there”. Sometimes I kinda hate Blaine. This is one of them
I think this breakup scene was the sole reason why Blaine and Dave were a thing at one point. It shows some really strong character development, and why I also find it weird that they were a couple; Dave and Karofsky weren't the same person, if you get what I mean. No other character on Glee came around as much as Dave did, not even Santana.
I usually don't root for bullies; they deserve every ounce of misery that they dished out to come rushing back. But bullies are human, there's a reason (not an excuse) for their behavior. If someone makes a conscientious and genuine attempt to change and make amends, I feel they deserve a second chance. Just not before.
I just love this. He was probably so ok about it because he’d had that thought for so long and it like *bam* oh shit it’s real. His character development man
