0:17 "You're wrong, Finn. That kiss was unprofessional. It was too personal and intense. The judges won't like it. They'll consider it common and vulgar and it cost you Nationals- Hi Rachel, you look amazing and you sounded great, you just shouldn't have kissed him." The way he just stops to say hi and compliment her before continuing, I love his bluntness 😂 also dudes got a point, it was a stupid thing to do
I love jesse and rachel so much. even tho Finn and rachel are cute something has always been.. off.. abt their relationship. It doesn't sit right lol, but like rachel and jesse's souls like connect perfectly
@@kayamallon1977 Agree. Finn and Rachel have their cute moments but they just didn't seem to get each other. I know sometimes opposites attract but they just didn't seem to click with each other. Rachel and Jesse really understood each other - both were determined, ambitious, and tbh drama queens 😂 Jesse appreciated her talent and her dreams. All he ever wanted was for her to succeed
@@bella-gt8ln yeah! also like not to be rude to Finn and all but like with the whole kiss at nationals, no matter how much Jesse loved her and wanted to kiss her he wouldn't do it. because he would never want to take the risk of crushing her dreams.
I feel like Rachel and Finn didn't take enough heat from the rest of the team. Like the only person who was upset was Santana. I wish everyone would have been pissed at LEAST until the end of 3x01 just to show that they even cared about losing Nationals 😂
I just rewatched this episode, I know that Jesse was right about the kiss, but the new directions have some nerve to blame everything on Rachel and Finn. They wrote the songs the night before, and they weren't half as good as the songs they made for regionals.
@@victoriapitetta3831 but that wasn’t really their fault it was actually Mr. 👞 fault he went their and not one was he with them or checking on them he was out singing on stage and drinking at the bar he bought his team to New York with 50 other schools and no set list and expected them to write a song 2 nights before
I think they were. They just didn't show it as much. Besides you know how Santana can be, can you imagine if someone like Mike or Mercedes threw a rage fit? 😂😂
@@multifandomedits8817 I don't hate Rachel or Finn. I hate the fact that they always made a lot of mistakes and nothing happened to them. The script was always on their side.
I hate that they lost and I have nothing against Finn, but he was so smug about the kiss, this was like a bucket of cold water and he kind of deserved it.
What annoyed me was after they got back they didn’t care. I know you should hold on to things, but really. And when Finn tried to it rub in Jessie’s face and said that he was just jealous even tho Jessie was right
Also it annoyed me that when they got back Rachel and Finn tried to make it seem as if it wasn't a big deal and ppl were overreacting but we know that if it would have been any other couple Rachel never would've stopped talking about it. Idk I just feel like 3x01 should've revolved around Rachel and Finn trying to win everyone's respect back
Why did they blame Finn and Rachel for the loss are we ignoring the fact that they came unprepared and wrote the songs and worked on the choreography literally the day before. It was just a mess lol
A year late but it wasn’t entirely their fault. The fault goes directly to Mr. Shue for making them write original songs even when their schedule didn’t allow that (ex. paying tribute to Sue’s sister).
Okay but they’ve literally done that multiple times. When their entire set list was stolen and they had to come up with rearrangements on the spot they still placed just fine. And the ONE TIME we see them actually planning songs beforehand is in season 4 like two episodes before regionals so it wasn’t really the original songs. Sure they weren’t the best but they could’ve probably placed in the 10 but that stupid kiss is what sent them over the railings.
Kiss or no kiss, the performance wasn't that great. The duet was a boring song and Light Up The World was cute and energetic but not Nationals level. . . maybe Sectionals, but not enough to win Nationals.
Exactly. 1) There's no coreography yet Rachel is supposed to be a winning dancer. 2) It's the same boring, uncreative "best singer and her boyfriend" duet with everyone else as backup singers (who only come in at the end)
Can we just face the fact that their performance wasn't the best and not good enough for nationals? The duet was a bit plain and boring, and the other song couldn't make up for it. It's not because of a kiss on stage
Pal, are you in some sort of delusion that the writers intentionally make a bad performance for them to protray a convincing reason for their lost? It's a TV show with sole purpose to release cover music, which means every song that they do must reach a certain quality level. The songs were released songs, which means they were meant to be good. There's no behind reason here, they lost because the plot dictates it, Finn and Rachel's kiss cause them to lose, that's the point. Otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal if they just aren't good enough. Keep it real, pal. The only time they dictate New Directions to lose due to quality reason is against Vocal Adrenaline season 1 and Throat Explosion season 4. It's the plot, not any quantitave measurements of performance, but only the plot.
@@markarmage3776 please... Those are the same writers that made us think the trouble tones performance wasn't as good as ND's when they had Santana AND Mercedes. The plot was inconsistent many times, especially for certain characters like Rachel. Their loss makes perfect sense, they tried winging it, came unprepared, the songs were done the night before , it was a whole mess. And no that wasn't the sole purpose, otherwise they wouldn't have switched to releasing the music as EPs per each episode instead of releasing singles that would more easily place in the billboard 100
@@mayaflici374 Again, that's the plot, pal. The plot can be inconsistent but it's always the plot. The implication behind adding the kiss scene is that the kiss scene caused them to lose, otherwise they wouldn't be needing the kiss scene during the performance. Apply some logic. The songs released strategy was done so that every member can be accommodated to. Because there's a fixed number of songs, if you choose to release singles one at a time, the hit songs being covered will always be noticed first. They released the songs by episode to spread out the attention. But again, they add the kiss because of the plot dictating it. Just apply some logic.
I think there was we just saw finial setvto not appear redundant. Brittany showered Artie in sparkling juice Quinn filmed it on her phone. Brittany and Santana gave Artie kiss on cheek and Joe tried to get Artie to cheers him im thinking in song that got them into top 10 Artie was involved in it. Why else would Artie been given so much attention in tounge tied.
Srsly! They explained in S2 that the competition is narrowed down to the top 10 groups, who then have to perform the following day or whatever. But in S3 they only competed against like 2 other groups, which doesn’t make sense because it’s NATIONALS. You think there’d be dozens of groups from all over the nation, but somehow they only had to perform once against two other groups?
I just rewatched this episode, I know that Jesse was right about the kiss, but the new directions have some nerve to blame everything on Rachel and Finn. They wrote the songs the night before, and they weren't half as good as the songs they made for regionals. It's a surprise the didn't end up last place.
I think Will having to restart the audience with that single clapping standing ovation was too unrealistic. That guitar should’ve kicked in automatically, albeit a little delayed.
In this season's nationals they established that the top 10 teams would advance to another round called "the showcase," so that's probably where the announcer man would announce the top 3. I wish they did that in the other seasons too, but probably a waste of screentime moving them through multiple rounds.
Anybody understand this scene it was Will's fault AND he admitted it, It wasn't Rachel's fault, they were so devastated cuz they didn't want to lose nationals AND they didn't do it for purpose, it's only a sillly thing AND you should understand that!
This Is the real truth, i watched this episode AND it really shows the truth behind it. You should understand while watching every scene before talking AND please don't get it so seriuslly.
I know that Rachel ends up with Jesse in the end cuz Cory died but I can't stand Jesse until he married Rachel but I FREAKIN LOVE THE PERFORMANCE THEY DID AND THE SONGS THEY DID 😍😍😍
You actually know from the beginning of this episode that they were gonna lose this one. They literally came to New York without any songs or choreography to perform while the other teams have been working for weeks for this competition. This is NATIONALS. They treated it like any other choir room performance. No practice. They came up with their songs and performance DAYS before the biggest competition of their lives. I always hated how unprepared they all were. They deserved to lose.
They are so in love i dont care what anyone says that kiss was always meant to happen in that moment he loved her he was worried about anything else she was on his mind he wanted her above anyone
Besides Rachel and Finn’s realization on how they royally messed up, I love that look on Sunshine’s face that she gives Rachel. Another perfect comeuppance of Rachel’s ego biting her in the ass.
I.M not big fan with Jesse ST James keep Telling Rachel just kissing Finn that.s cheating did not make it Nationals came 12th place thanks Jesse make Fun with Finn get Jealous are dating with Rachel did not say anything I.M going with Finn you need back off Jesse people are Annoyed for Relationship this is not working this out Rachel be on bottom Glee list goodbye Jesse for good
So I think the kiss was a contributing factor to their loss but ultimately not the main reason. Their original songs were just ok and honestly original songs at nationals aren't a good idea in general
But without the kiss they could’ve maybe ranked in the top ten. Not be number 1 but top 10 definitely. The way this scene is written is that it was there fault, otherwise they would’ve have had Jesse go on a whole screed about it but then never do anything to deny it later in the narrative.
That's not how it's supposed to be written, pal. Those were good songs, written by Adam Anders and Max Martin, literally the song writers who worked with Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears. Do you actually think they pay attention to the reason behind their losses? That's not the point of the show. If the plot dictate them to lose, they lose. The whole point of the kiss is to say that they lost because of the kiss. Every song released by the show on Itunes and other platform are meant to be good performances, that's why they released it. So the nonsense of "bad performances" is why they lost is just not sane. Keep it real.
