still mad the glee writers robbed us of actually seeing their relationship develop and grow but instead decided shelby fucking puck would be more interesting
the whole sleeping with puck storyline was trash. I didn't mind Quinn and Puck meeting Beth. The sleeping storyline could have been discarded and used for Shelby and Rachel's mother-daughter relationship.
This was filmed so brilliantly. I remember seeing this when it aired in 2010 and I had chills the whole time. That shot of Rachel watching in awe from the audience is just pure movie magic.
I love this scene because it shows no matter who raised you you will always have a connection to your birth mother Rachel instantly knew Shelby was her mother just by hearing Shelby's voice and seeing her passion and how she walks slowly down to her all while staring at Shelby with awe wonder and admiration
Lady she did hear her voice before but it’s not just her voice she recognizes it’s the way she talked and the passion she showed in her performance it’s just like Rachel’s
she totally hasn't lost her voice in the slightest!! look at videos of her on her 2017 world tour, in particular Defying Gravity (she still sings it amazingly even though its been over 10 years since Wicked), Seasons of Love where she hits that high C and Don't Rain on my Parade/The way we were :) Literally look at any video of Idina over the past few years and you'll see that her voice hasn't gone at all.
I was just watching this on Netflix yesterday. I can't believe i missed out on this show in my high school days! Almost done with Season 1 and it'll be gone from Netflix next month. I barely started watching this past summer. Anyway, Idina knows how to sing the classics
The fact that Lea Michele and Idina Menzel aren't actually related is insane. Seriously, Lea looks so much like Idina, and their voices are extremely similar.
Great acting by Lea. I always thought she wasn't a good actress in Glee because no one praised her for it. Now I realize she's just tremendously underappreciated.

@@salemsalem1440 Yes, I remember that he said something about how he didn't like how Dianna had played Quinn or something. In the first season Quinn was supposed to be a bitch without feelings but Dianna made her "humanized" in some way and instead of hating her they loved her. And then I also remember when Faberry (Quinn and Rachel) won the poll for the favorite couple in the series even when they weren't a real couple in the show. Murphy was very upset about it, he loved Finchel (Finn and Rachel). And then he literally completely ruined Quinn's character.
First time I saw Idina was in rent her voice blew me away. Then she did the voice of Elsa n played Shelby on Glee I will watch her in anything her voice is amazing

I’ve listen to this song like 1 million times but I don’t know what it is maybe it’s because of where I am in my life or something but like the song just makes me wanna smile especially the way that she sings it and yeah
When the casting god's show us favor we get Lea Michelle and Idina Menzel playing mother and daughter and singing together and every scene was magic, but this performance? Yeah this is a bench mark performance.
I wish they included the scene right before this where she is trying to teach her students the importance of theatricality. This is a master class on the subject. Sometimes subtlety is the key to a great performance.
I find it strange that they'd make a contract forbidding her from approaching her daughter till she's 18 - I mean she carried her for 9 months and gave birth to her, I think that gives her the right for a birthday visit if nothing else. Why would her dads do that to her, not tell her who her birth mother is?
