@@carlyfallon6304 I saw this more of a moment of kindness tbf, Rachel was complaining about how she didn't want some random person to be her understudy, so it'd be better if it were Santana than some random person.
This scene makes me cry so much, this is the episode before 'the quarterback' and the combination of how happy she is with the fact that she (Rachel or Lea) has no idea what's coming is so heartbreaking
Rachel didn't know about Finn's death yet, but in real life, Lea most likely knew, depending on when this episode was filmed. I think they said that Cory Monteith had already begun filming some scenes for season 5 before his death, but that the season had to be rewritten after his unexpected passing. But if Cory had begun filming for season 5, it's possible that some other scenes had been filmed as well. But still, it's most likely that this episode was filmed after Cory's death, and in which case, all of the other actors (including Lea, obviously) already knew at this point.
@@RainbowPawPrint Yeah, The Beatles episodes were filmed after Cory's death. If I remember correctly they actually pushed back filming for season 5 too.

I don’t like Rachel but just this scene of her getting Fanny Brice, the role she dreamed of for 5 seasons warmed my heart especially how Santana and Kurt were even really happy for Rachel despite their differences!
I love how supportive they were for rachel. like kurt I expected it but Santana was way more supportive than I thought she would be but I love it so much!

Who’s where after finding out that Lea Michelle will actually play Fanny on broadway. Also I may not like Lea but she’s talented and she’s also meant for this role.
I'm royally upset as to how this is the only thing Santana got. Rachel got her dream. And everyone got a happy ending. But Rachel was really the only one who got a shot at stardom.
fun fact - the line in this scene where rachel goes “honestly, if it were anyone else, i would be so jealous...” was also said by santana to tina(?) around graduation time
