Now this is what country music is SUPPOSED to be. Just all this raw talent and two guitars. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. Rest in peace, Roger and Glen. We’ll never see artists like you again.
Don't worry about it. Glen was one of the best singers, guitar players. His music lit up the world from the 1960's on. Thanks Glen, God Bless your family. Corrected.
The Universal soldier #45 on the pop charts in 1965, By the time i get to Phoenix #26, 1967, Turn around look at me, #62 in 1961, wichita lineman #3 1968....definitely before 1970...
I met both of these stars back in my radio-DJ days and they were both very impressive. Glen could sing and play with the best of them and Roger was a unique and gifted talent. I'm just glad that I was around as they recorded their great hits so I could play them on the air.
does not exist? well you are sooooooooooooooo right@!! Love this music..no one plays and sing this way....why? so much junk on the radio...and TV...bless these two....the best
+Jim Roveto That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. A few years back Toby Keith lamented that Nashville is now "VOID" of real ENTERTAINERS and guys that can write, sing, play and PERFORM! Now it's about technical gimmicks where back in the day, there was nothing up their sleeve...just talent, sweat and craft... These lived on the road... AMAZING and INSPIRING! (Glen is my musical HERO! ...And Roger Miller, is wonderful!)
Digital tech already has let loose a mass of untalented rubbish. Can't play an instrument read music or sing. I'm glad I grew up in the era of talented musicians.
Boy when he started singing it blew me away. Artists today could never sound this wonderful live. This was back when 'talent' had real, true, inspiring talent.
A lot of the problem is that country music had adopted too much from the rock genre. The music is so overpowering that, even when the singer is good, it's hard to tell because you can't hear them.
So very true. The epitome of wonder American artists who were so creative and incomparable. In many ways, I think these beautiful, handsome talented artists were responsible for my sanity back home in India. A reprive from all the discipline of old school. TY for cassettes because we had no TV till the 80s.
Sure miss shows like this . Roger Miller was my absolute favorite . He was first to win Male Vocalist of the Year for the Country Music Association . He died to young . Sad about Glen Campbell to .
I've been fortunate to have met Mr. Glenn Campbell in Phoenix, Arizona. Inasmuch, I knew of the demons that were apart of his life. That being said, I understand. I can relate. I hope that be you have finally found the peace and happiness we all look forward to in our lives. Thank you, Mr. Campbell for your time and contribution to the human experience.
Two very talented singers and musicians...... Gosh I miss this kind of music. Roger Miller was truly a very good singer and who could play guitar like Glen Campbell? Thanks for posting.
Yes, a guitar, his “whoever he’s married to at the moment” and, let’s not forget his immense talent for being just another “loud-mouth drunk” on the streets of Tuscan! icky human
Glen was on the Art Bell’ show years back after he overcame his struggles. A two hour interview. Glen had accepted Christ and was so humble. He shared about his life and ups and downs. Best interview of a superstar I have ever witnessed. Roger was one of a kind talent. Two Artists that reign at the top of heap in 1960s/70s Music scene. Blessed to grow up with these Two. ❤️ RIP Glen & Roger
Roger did have that Gift of talent where he could pop up with a amazing song out of nowhere to the point of people wanting to be around him just to hear him saying words that went right into another song that would be a song to be more of at the moment talent.💬🚂💞
Love this!!! This is the definition of pure, natural talent...quite genius if you ask me. Found myself clapping after the performance...love and miss both of these awesome men! 💜🎶💜
I grew up listening to Glen, and I even play some of his songs, but the more old videos I watch of him, the more impressed I become. He has the ability to not make mistakes, and if he does, he's so smooth. He can make anyone look good. And can play with anyone. I have to say he is probably the #1 all around entertainment talent of the last 50 years. No other person could hold the attention of an audience, play top music, and be so positive about it. Possibly Elvis, but Glen had the guitar.
Check out Bobby Darin, the voice, multi instrumentalist abd packed awhole lot into 37 years. Tgats not to say Elvis who i love and Glen who is superb don't deserve their dues. All such wonderful talent. All sadly now playing at the concert in the sky.
This is one I actually remember from my childhood, seeing it on TV. Great to see it again, if nothing else it proves my memory has not yet failed me. It was noteworthy at first viewing and is still a classic.
I loved Roger. After years of playing jazz standards I realized how out of the country box he was capable of. He knew how to keep it accessible and find a country pop audience.
Excellent. I have always loved them both. Glen always has such empathy when performing with others, I guess from all those years of being about the most requested session guitar player for all kinds of music. Here he blends in with Miller as few others could.
Roger Miller and Glen Campbell both provided the voices of Roosters in animated films (Miller voiced Alan-A-Dale in disney's ROBIN HOOD and Campbell voiced Chanticler in ROCK-A-DOODLE). I would like to see the two Roosters sing together!
You have to be glad we had these people in our life to make the time we were born a time of our past and present so good to enjoy what they did to have had and have in hope's that others will always keep a big part of future likeness in there country music for year's to come.🎸💕🎶🎶🎶
Glen and Roger are great entertainers. Glen has never given up on life and love. I have had the pleasure of meeting him at Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh, PA. We lost Roger way too early. Thank you for this great viewing.
When Keith Urban could sit next to Glen Campbell on stage and act as humble as he did you know he was in the company of guitar greatness...Glen was one of the most gifted to ever play the guitar. Roger Miller was just hands down one of the funniest guys ever and a musical genius..
Roger Miller rememinds me or Ray Stevens. They both are so funny with they songs. Love the Glen Campbell's song, Try A Littie Kindness. Goes way back with other heart warming song's!🎸💕🎶
Incredible talent from both sides, I love Rodgers ability to ad -lib alot of those breaks and Glenn seems at a home with any song he performs, brilliant stuff for sure!!!
This kind of talent is very very rare... Rodger was one of a kind, and Glen is too (different kind) check out Glen's riffing at 4:05 or so... Vince Gill or Chet Atkins would be proud of those licks.
Both Roger Miller and Glen Campbell were born in 1936, sang country music, and provided the voices of animated Rooster characters. Miller was Alan A Dale the singing Rooster/Narrator in disney's ROBIN HOOD; Campbell was Chanticler in ROCK A DOODLE. I can picture the two roosters singing together!
Well actually, glen campbell has altzheimers. Nicotine has been shown to prevent altzheimers. I don't even know if he smoked. But i love listening to his guitar playing which is exceptional. He can still play even with the aktzheimers.
By the time I get to the cold lonely winter of the snowy Oldtown I will regret I left her warm smiley love on that proud spring morning of my youth and its long shadows of ignorance.
