Interesting story, when Glen showed up at the Shopify Montreal office (where the team needing to work on code red was) he owned the room, and the problem with everyone. It really was a turning point for all of us, he really led everyone with a clear why. One of my favourite leadership monents to witness.
Another great interview, Harry! Glen seems to be phenomenal leader. I came across extremely bright and authentic. I had to watch it twice to catch all the gems he dropped in this interview.
Making a big push directly with influencer marketing could be a great way to get more control of TOF. Influencers do promo for brands all the time, but not as much directly for shopify. The Mr beast RU-vid video was a good one. Maybe this still isn’t considered owning the top of the funnel, but it seems like some version of that at scale could be good. Just a thought. Now I’m going to obsess over how to solve this. Great interview.
