Just heard him the first time today on Pete Holmes' podcast doing an interview. At around 1 hour 47 minutes he sang "Didn't He Ramble" and it shook something inside of me. It made me think of my Dad.... and other Dad figures in my life... in all our lives. As strong, dominate, fierce, flawed, and sometimes shaken and sad creatures.... as a father myself, I am moved to fall in this category as well as to want to be the change.... and some how do, and also fail... Love the song.
In the middle of watching this, I strum my guitar, and a tune flew out and slapped me right in the face! Thank you! I've been very frustrated lately with writing, and I've been wanting to write a ballad, and now this Glen Hansard fueled thing comes out of my guitar and slaps me in the face, and I start singing with a topic about how I am feeling about my current living situation, and everything is just pouring out so easily. Thank you!
I love Glen! The new album sounds fantastic so far. But Glen, couldn't you extend your tour to more places in the US please? I'm never going to be able to drive to Atlanta, which is 6 hrs away, the day before Thanksgiving! Come to Florida I beg of you :)
