Didn't ride for nearly 30 yrs. Picked up a used bike. Rode 4 months & decided to go racing for the hell of it. Even though I was exhausted after just the practice lap, I had a blast. Can't wait to do the next race.
As a guy in your age bracket, I can say the fitness struggle is real. Even if you're in decent shape, if you've been away from riding for any length of time a few laps on a rough track or in my case Hare Scramble loops will convince you that your body is made from overcooked spaghetti lol. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Were all 100+ riders beginners< that first row seemed to have a pretty good clue, how to get good launch and hit the first bend, by the sign, or was it 4 classes?
Think I did 3 laps due to my stalling & not getting the bike started very quick. Did another race this last weekend on a new bike & got 5 laps & 3rd place. It was my second race in nearly 30 yrs.
I'm 70 now but I remember when I started back in the day and finally was able to keep it on two wheels and go faster. This brings out a good memory way to go.
