A (insert expletive) mazing. Brilliant, simply brilliant, one of the best YT videos I have watched in many a month. Well done Gary and thanks for introducing Ben to me.
Lovely video Gary. Good to show my Favourite place Glencoe. Loved the chat and Banter with Ben. Keep up the hill walking Gary and always keep pushing yourself further and higher, it’s always worth it. Bens work is truly magical. Again awesome stuff mate. 🤘🗻📷🥃
Walker ? Murray Walker ! (That was my last gig 😂👍) Great video Gary - fantastic weather and day you got there and great to meet Ben - amazing images sir 👌 ATB Murray
Looks like that Olympus gave the Canon a run for its money, lol. Stunning images from Ben, I will follow him for sure and will be looking him up when I get back home next time. Really enjoyed this one Gary, I do get the whole connection to the landscape thing, I certainly felt it last year when I climbed the Western Brook Gorge, My images from that day were crap but the experience was amazing and even though the images were poor I still love them. Thanks for sharing Gary.
what amazing video Gary,i think this is one of the best landscape video,s I have watched with some excellent images, the images from ben at the end where just breath taking.i am 73 years of age and find it a bit of a challenge to hike to high now but still feel the emotions when I'm in that location, really enjoyed this one Gary, thanks for sharing it with us.
This video has a soul? The music and the images are excellent? And you both have a lot to share and show with the beauty that surrounded both of you, definitely it was a lifetime adventure.
Probably, no definitely the most stunning location in the UK 🏔️ Ben doesn’t profess to being a photographer 🤔 not buying that. His images at the end are truly stunning, the one @32:57 is epic 👌 being in such locations stirs the soul, capturing them cements the memory. I have been privileged to capture one or two myself over the last few years and they will never leave you, it doesn’t matter if the image is not perfect, the fact that you made the effort to be there and get it is satisfying enough 😉
WoW Gary, that is an outstanding view. Thanks for showing us this, as for me it makes it even more special as there’s no way I could get up there, bar an helicopter dropping me off. Looking at going up to Scotland for a week later this year, a family holiday rather than a photo trip but this time I will most definitely be making time for some photography as last year we spent a week on Anglesey without leaving the island and I didn’t get half the shots I intended to do.
Ben's photos 😍🤤👏 absolutely stunning! I hope you get into hiking Gary. I'm a very unlikely mountain climber but I am absolutely hooked - you'll love it!
A brilliant video Gary. Glad you had a good time with Ben. The scenery around on your climb was amazing. Loved the banter and outtakes at the end. Ben's image's were stunning. I follow Murray as well. Now there's an idea video for the future, you and Murray on a climb.
Great video Garry. Being out on the hills makes me feel alive and well. Being out with my camera does the same. Combine the two is beyond magic !! I am 70, have I another Munro left to do? Many thanks.
Great video! Thanks! Love to see you using a fantastic DSLR, the same as I have. Gear is just a little part of the Process... I still add that I loved seeing you talking about what is most important for our lives in nature. What's the greatest achievement in the end? thanks for all this! Greetings from South Brazil!
Having followed Ben for some time now across social media platforms, I can 2nd the opinion of his being a great guy. He's always happy to answer questions if you shoot one across to him and, of course, because his gallery is so amazing, there's always plenty to ask. A lovely video and really fascinating to learn how Ben treasures his tiime spent connecting with the great outdoors. Top, top lad.
great vlog Mr G - really enjoyed that & wow what views - will defo try the ski lift if I ever make it back up to Glencoe. Looking forward to the new fitness regime in 2023 & can't wait to see you 'running up those hills backwards...' :-) keep up the great work.
Cracking chat, a very good film Gary!! Incredible footage and photography from Ben! I was already following Ben and blown away by his photography. Again Gary Excellent video. Oh and now after watching this and Bens photography I’m currently setting fire to my camera!
Again you have produced another amazing video Gary, it was really good to met Ben and see some of his work which is of a very high standard. One thing that I was quite surprised about was the fact you don't feel a connection to the landscape/environment when capturing a image, I'm a bit like Ben when you come to a location and see the beauty in front of you to capture I feel that connection, it is a wonderful feeling. Thanks so much for sharing this with us because I will never get to witness it myself.
What an amazing video Garry, most enjoyable indeed. For me watching it after hosting my first exhibition today and reliving my memories of them with the the people that attended resonated with me so much 😊👍
I've said it before on your videos, and I will say it again, I need to head back to the UK sometime before its too late, to fulfill a 30+ year dream to Photograph the mountains in winter (and to do the fighters in Wales). Your videos always make my urge greater
Hi Gary loved this video and loved your sense of achievement on your climb, your a bit of an inspiration for my own RU-vid channel. Love your informative videos 👍📸
What a great video Gary. It's very inspirational and motivating for us "folks with life experience". You're never too old to at least tackle some of the highland treks! And thanks for the introduction to Ben! Great images. Cheers.
Those were some great images. What a beautiful place, so glad you were able to visit it. Looking forward to your next time with a longer lens in your pack.
Great video! Loved the mountain images. While you might be slow getting up those mountains, you showed wisdom that only age can bring by sending the young guy back to the get the camera shooting the B roll.
Thanks for this, I was up the ski resort in September 2020, Scotland in general is beautiful in my opinion but Glencoe is stunning, Loch Morlich, Eilean Donan Castle etc was some of my best photos, thanks again for sharing and Ben's photos are beautiful
Another great video, some stunning photos not just from you but also Ben. Having followed you for a while now have you ever thought about entering your photos to Landscape Photographer of the Year?
not seen much from you recently --- great vlog, thanks . If i purchaced a 2nd back up camera for travel thats the Camera i would buy; used both the M1 mk2 ans mk3 on a extended Pro loan from Olympus. The pro lens are really good and the weather sealing is top notch .
What a amazing video like you am not a hill walker am a young 61lol and did my first munro with my son and it was amazing and got some good pictures to not like yous or Ben's thank you so much for sharing your adventures 🤩
Beautiful images from you both. Just shows how nature changes a view, in seconds. Used to do a lot of hillwalking in my younger days, this video has got me thinking again, but nowadays, the cold weather makes me think again.
Absolutely stunning! I know these mountains well and also combine mountain walking with photography, but I was blown away by Ben's images, really capturing the mood of the mountains. The conversations about your different approaches to photography and the relationship between the two of you really made for an engaging video. I can't wait for more adventures from you and Ben.
Hill walking and photography, that makes for a great video Gary, and wow, Ben's images are wonderful. Having been up a few of those hills I can appreciate the effort to capture those.
Olympus OMD - E M1 Mark3, a new experience! Last year I bought one, a good possibikty on journeay, to avoid the "heavy load" of a full frame equipment. Don´t like the crop, but a well made camera with pictures of good quality.
Fantastic recording! so many Munro's I recognise from over the years, not sure the back and legs could do it now! Ben's sunrise shot of Sgurr Eilde Mor at 30:15 is stunning. Just a note for anyone looking for the summit of Creag Dubh, it is part of the Munro, Meall a Bhuiridh which sits at the top of ski slopes
Wow that was wonderful! as long as you got some pictures it does not matter what camera it was, I have problems getting up our stairs at home so the mountains have no chance! so thank you for taking us with you, well done to Ben too he done a great job in taking you there! Those pictures were wonderful....
Well that were a bit of alreet! Epic stuff. Not really a photographer? Who’s he trying to kid. I think you make a great interviewer Gary, you always let the other guy’s personality come through, they seem to comfortably open up to you.
my first wild camp was a little hike from the white corries chairlift..... i went for the photgraphs, but waking up in places like that, its a special thing.
That was stunning video Gary, I am also Mountain Leader and try and capture moments like Ben from the mountains with my camera. Video was brilliant I have watched your You Tube videos for good few years now and that was top draw, Ben is also credit with his passion for the mountains as are most Mountain Leaders.
Really enjoyed the series of Glencoe Gary, I hope you do go higher with Ben and pay for his services as you won’t regret it, getting higher in the mountains will change your life it’s just a matter of confidence and experience and Ben as your guide will provide that. Ben’s images are breathtaking and are an immense body of work.
The landscape in this video is stunning. I live in Washington State in the USA and we have over 100 hills/mountains that are over 1000m high but our terrain is very different. Our alpine zone starts at nearly 2000m so if I was at a similar altitude like you are on in this video I would still be surrounded by trees and likely have limited or no view. It looks like you are in the alpine zone at a very low altitude. Very nice video. I would love to visit there someday and see it for myself. If I do, I will bring a long lens. 😊
When we do our collaboration you can have a go of mine that's what I have the Olympus OM-D E-M1 mk3 with 12-100mm F4 IS PRO, 100-400mm F/5-6.3, 45mm F/1.8 and the 17mm F/1.8 I absolutely love the camera. Fantastic video mate and oh my god what views. I would love to be able to go myself but watch your channel gets me there. Speak soon mate
You've never said a truer word when you said"people are different nothing remember my own dear dad when he was my age now(66) it was like he stopped and said to himself "i'm old now ,I shouldn't really be doing this" it was such a shame because that is when he actually became old, if you know what I mean. Now, I think age is just a number and you should carry on for a long as you are fit and able." Lang may your lum reek" Gary (look it up, you'll like it) keep doing what you're doing, I for one really appreciate it.👍😎
I looked it up and I remembered the saying. I remember it from my parents. They’re both Scottish. I think it’s what all the Jocks used to say when they gatecrashed our Hogmanay parties when I lived in Scotland. It wasn’t called gate crashing in those days of course. It was just Scottish people being incredibly social 😂😂
excellent video ex canon now olympus light weight go anywhere oly 5mark3 and 12-45mm f4 together with a 40-150mm f4 (1kg total) Bens photo just what i like, next time you plan a fell or hill walk try olympus/oms
