Another cracking review Shayla, I’ve nit had much of Glenmorangie always felt as it is everywhere I go it had put me off. But I tried the 10 nit so long ago and I was impressed. I totally get that orange and custard smell from it. C and D sound great and up my street. Keep up the awesome reviews. Slainte
I was slow to being a fan of glenmorangie but now it's one of my favorites. Maybe my ability to pick up flavors has improved from my first time trying Glenmo because its so full of flavors that I didn't notice a couple of years ago. Thanks for the review =)
I like this collection so much that I purchased four of the collections even though I have all of the whiskeys in the collection. This is a great collection 👍🏽🥃
Just bought a Quinta Ruban 14 and what I find especially unique about it is that it's got a distinct matchstick note apart from the juicy forest berry notes. Sulphur in a Glenmorangie, now that's not something I expected! And I gotta say I like that off-note, gives it a bit of an edge rather than being too nice. But I'm a Campbeltown fan so I'm very much used to the 'funk' as it's called.
Interesting. The Glenmorangie Lasanta had a pretty noticeable sulfur undertone the last time I had it. Unlike you I absolutely hate these off-notes. Haven't had the 14 yo Quinta Ruban, really like the old 12 yo however. To me, it's definitely the best out of the standard range. No sign of sulfur whatsoever. Now that I know the re-release of QR might disappoint I will hold on to my last bottle of 12 yo QR for a bit longer.
@@al_kaloid It's pretty subtle in the 14 QR but it's very subjective of course, if you're highly sensitive to it you might find it off-putting. For me as I said it's so well integrated into the other sour/bitter notes that it's a welcome addition to its complexity.
Of the four I've only had the Lasanta, first time yesterday, though mine is the 43% version. I loved it! But then again, sherry-influenced whiskies are my favorite.
I’ve been working through my first bottle of QR over the last several months. I like it more with every dram. Velvety raisin and chocolate from the port casks. Very enjoyable.
In Canada, particularly in Ontario the nectar d'or is over $120. I was thinking about splurging on it but watching your recommendations im guessing its probably not worth it. I like the quinta better than the original so I think ill try the La Santa next. Thanks for your help. Really enjoyed the video.
i just grabbed this little mix pack too! really enjoyed the quinta ruban the most. lasanta barely beat out the nectar d'or for me. i could pass on the original tbh though.
