Like other commenters, I can't believe this is her first Met Gala. I appreciated how "real" she is, especially when she said "We don't wear clothes like this in Boseman." I like to look at the Met Gala photos on the NY Times, and I always wonder what it is like to "get ready" for this event. Are they in their bathrooms putting on eyeliner? This was great. All those stars probably are in a hotel with a makeup artist, hairstylist + a designer to dress them. Thank you!

The dress code & fashion theme for the 2022 Met Gala was "The Guilded Age". I'm not sure how Glenn Close's dress fit that code/theme either in style or color. Her dress w/cape was however dramatic in style & color.

You can only go if invited and Anna W and Vogue do the invite approval along with the fashion designers,who buy the $200k tables. The younger celebs and models don't pay.They are invited to attract worldwide media attention for the event and to be dressed and be seen by/ with a particular designer to boost the brand.All about $$$
