Glenn Greenwald: Israel is repeating our post-9/11 mistakes 

The only reason why I disagree that Israel is repeating our mistakes after 911 is because they've been doing this way before 911.

We are repeating them because we are funding this.

Not wanting to fund genocide is not antisemitic.

except it's not a mistake when it's intentional consistent and calculated.

We should have skipped the 1991 Gulf War, and withdrew from the Middle East. The 9/11 attacks would not have happened and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq would not have happened.

That's a crzay thought. What would America look like if the money spent on wars over the last 20 years was used for infrastructure and improving the nation?

Everyone at Reason acts so wishy-washy when the topic of Palestine comes up.

We, America, shouldn't have a problem with dictatorships. We have had authoritarian friends ever since France, an absolute monarchy at the time, helped us during the American Revolution. We shouldn't have a problem with countries that have different views on social issues. Our limit should be against governments that abuse their people or their neighbors.

America should set up a International Insurance Company ... Pay For Protection. Have it in American Constitution as an Amendment outlining the Contractual Agreements. It will ensure that America gets FULLY compensated for having Military, thus meaning that America's allies will pay a Premium based on the cost of having Military protection. The Contractual Agreement should NOT include Nuclear strikes but ONLY Conventional Military. In the event that the other side threatens to use a Nuke in the war ... the President at the time makes the decision as to whether they would respond to a Nuclear strike being launched by launching one themselves. There is a reason why M.A.D. works!

Call it the "Nine Eleven Playbook". Netanyahu had been informed that an attack would occur a year before the Hamas raid, and was notified the day before that the attack was imminent. In response, the Israel's prime minister ordered the military to stand down, only responding after the attack occurred. The Israeli military followed the "Hannibal Directive", according to officers who led the response, and were ordered to "fire at anything that moved." According to the evidence and Israelis who escaped capture, most of the Israelis killed that day (over half of whom were military personnel) died as a result of "friendly" tank fire and helicopter-borne missiles. Permitting this attack to occur gave Netanyahu the pretext to pursue the "Amalek" or liquidation of the people of Gaza.

IDS. Israeli Derangement Syndrome. Glenn has it big time. On every other subject, he is a rational somewhat objective analyst. As soon as Israel comes up, he goes berserk. I love the guy, but he is totally screwed up on this one subject.
